WiFi wasn't great, we definitely used some cellular and personal hotspot etc BUT you won't find a place on Long Island where you can get two bedrooms, a full bath, full eat in kitchen, living room and covered deck off the side of the cabin for the price you will pay here. There's common areas for BBQing and then you bring your food back to your room/cabin, or you can cook in the kitchen but who wants to do that at the beach LOL. There is also free snacks and beverages in the lobby for guests pretty much 24 hrs. Free simple bf foods like muffins, etc in the mornings too. They have day beds and hammocks on the backyard lawn but the entire point of staying here is that when you go up and over the stairs you're on the beach. They have beach chairs or you can bring your own. We brought a wagon and my husband was able to walk around the side to bring everything over instead of lugging your stuff up and over. Kid friendly, dog friendly quiet area of the beach. We got one rainy day and drove into river head for the aquarium and stopped in Mattituck on the way back to the resort for Magic Fountain HomemadeIce Cream. He talked to us, took pictures with us, and was just like one of us! I also liked the fact that when I took a picture with him, he wasn't that much taller than me! He's so cute and very, very funny! She was supposed to get back to me right away, but after 3 emails I finally got an email back at the end of Feb, that she was on vacation, didn't have any information, because she was waiting on a call back, and she would get back to me on Feb 28th. She could have emailed me before she went on vacation to tell me that..but nope. The morning of Feb 28th I sent one last email expressing how I was coming out to the Hampton's the next weekend to book and put a deposit on a venue, and I looked forward to her response as she promised, later that day...nothing! I have still not heard back from her, and today is March 6th!

The cottages are the perfect amount of space (we had 5 people, 2 in each room and one on the pullout couch. Originally we were going to get a suite for 4 people with a cot, but they let us know that for the same price we could do the option we did which was really nice of them to let us know. There was plenty of room for everyone and the room was extremely clean and felt like it was recently redone! The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (which with 5 people showering, was expected, but we had to shower pretty spaced out in order for everyone to have hot water). The cottage was pretty well stocked (the only thing we really had to ask for more of was towels. I'd recommend buying or bringing an extra pot or pan if you plan on cooking a lot, which we did. We brought seran wrap and plates and paper towels which made things easier. The oven was also a little tricky to work as it had no temperature gauge, but that might not be in all of the rooms or cottages. The A/C was in perfect working condition. The property itself was awesome - pool was clean and a good size with plenty of chairs and the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) were in great condition and we had help getting everything in to the water. There are picnic tables on the bay as well (we had a great view of the sunset from there). Stop and Shop was pretty close driving so that was helpful too if you plan on using the kitchen. It was a bit of a drive from town so I would definitely recommend coming with a car as ubers and cabs are expensive there, but it's not totally necessary (We were able to get an uber a few times with no too long of a wait). Overall a great experience and place to stay at a very reasonable price!

There was a sign on the AC asking to set the temp no lower than 69! It rattled as well. 2.There was no hot water on Saturday morning and no one seemed to care. And forget about the water pressure. It was less than a trickle. If you have long hair, forget about it. 3.There was mold in the bathroom shower and some sort of "film on the faucet in the sink-disgusting 4.The bed squeaked on every turn to synchronize with the AC rumbling 5. The entire room smelled like &$@! 6. We were booked for two nights and just left the morning of the second day. I would have slept in my car before spending another night there. If there a category for no stars I would have left a big 0.

The bathroom cleanup I did turned my wipes brown, when was the last time this room was actually cleaned? TV in the room was breaking, which management was aware of. FYI its not hard to replace a cheap tv with a new tv, not sure if management has ever heard of a site called Amazon, they sell tvs and cleaning supplies , just saying. On top of it there was a large group who took over the communal spaces , with lots of small children who they were too busy drinking to parent. The tiny bathtub sized "resort" pool was overtaken by the unsupervised children with giant floats. By a miracle these kids survived their pool takeover, it takes a moment for a child to drown. On top of it these people were slobs leaving garbage, toys, fishing poles, crab traps all over. We mentioned it to the woman working who did nothing about any of it. We left the resort and spent most of the time at the beach to avoid drama and stress , we made the best of it because we couldn't find another hotel with availability to pack up and leave to go to. Overall the place is dirty, obviously mismanaged or management is in over their heads who can know, and there are many other much cleaner places in the area to stay for the prices they are charging. Overall a shame and disappointing.

I then learned you could bring your dog to the cottages, so I did the next year. We then stayed 5 days. It was just my last Golden Abigail and me, and was very relaxing. Fast forward to 3 years ago, I was staying 7 days, and had my daughter, her husband, and my 2 grandchildren come for the second half of the week. I said addicting right? Last year for the first time in my entire career, I took 2 weeks and spent at the Bowens. The second week my grandchildren and family came up for a few days. It redefines wonderful and family at the same time. This year, they stayed for 7 days of my 2 week vacation! Once you go there, nothing else looks good. My first part of the week consisted of Isabelle (my current Golden) and me playing catch (or as Goldens do, retrieve) in the bay, visiting Southampton, walking, and just relaxing, oh she did play with Ruby, the Bowens well-mannered dog. Southampton is a very dog friendly town. Many of the local merchants have dog bowls of water outside for the, In Easthampton. We found a restaurant that offered a dog menu and they made it clear that dogs drink for free (as they brought her bowl of water)! Staying at the Bowens is like getting back in touch with the important things in life. Family, quality time, relaxation, and oh the cookouts! During the second week, with my daughter, son in law, and grandchildren we cooked out every night. We sat around and talked, just had fun. They took the children many places (lots to do locally), and I actually got in the pool this year for the first time in 20 years! It is amazing what grandchildren can make you do! As far as the facilities, the first thing you will notice upon entering one of the cottages is the smell of CLEAN. Eileen Bowen never stops, Kevin Bowen, well, I would see him at the pool in the morning and he is clearly the "ambassador". His signature phrase, "Are you having a good time?" And the ever famous, "Do you need anything"? I did ask if they had any grilling utensils. Guess what? Within 20 minutes not only did I have more utensils then I needed, but Kevin had purchased them for EVERY cottage! He said, "That was a great idea". Then he thanked me! Anastasia, a long term employee cleans, does a lot on Facebook, and helps with the front desk. Her work ethic amazes me more every year. Mrs. Bowen, Kevin's mother zips around like she is 20 years old. As soon as she saw me, she said, "nice to see you again, do you need anything". Wonder where Kevin learned that! All in all, do not miss the opportunity to go here. I have never been anywhere quite like it. Such a family atmosphere, playground equipment, pool, lots to do close by and on the grounds. My daughter and son in law became friends with the people next door at the play area. When they left, they put a note on the porch with 2 beers they wanted them to try. This place is a no brainer.
