I cant believe that a zillion years ago I wrote a review and it was not favorable!! This is my absolute most favorite breakfast place - all the drink concoctions and gorgeous presentation. The absolute delicious consistency of my special order prosciutto eggs Benny - best way to get rid of the Sunday scaries or at least hold them off for a bit. Love sitting at the bar best - thank you for always taking care of us
Loved this place! The decor, high ceilings and ambience were the perfect setting to meet my YE friend, Shanina, in person for the first time! Our server Ayana was lovely. She let us take our time ordering as well as sit there chatting for a few hours. The menu was a Greek Mediterranean flare serving breakfast and lunch only. We ordered: *Mango Ice Tea 5/5 *Prosecco 5/5 *Chicken Tuscan Pressed Sandwich w/roasted red peppers, provolone & pesto 4/5 *Kielbasa Omelette 4/5 Seemed like a great neighborhood place. A lot of regulars having lunch. ~kid friendly ~full bar menu ~baked goods ~outdoor patio in front ~serve breakfast & lunch ~street parking only
I decided to come here for breakfast while I was in the area and I have no regrets at all! I'm in love with the food and service here! (Visited 3/11) Ambiance [4/5]: Minimalist style design, it's nice, Theres also pretty lighting and a good amount of seating with an open bar as well. Food: Trix latte w/ whole milk (seasonal): [4/5] Tastes like a bowl of cereal from a cup. Topped with whipped cream it's really delicious! Tastes like a cup of childhood. Theres a good anount of cereal in the cup alongside the ice so it feels like you get a good amount of sips before the drink is done. Other than that it's still pretty good nonetheless. Sin-A-Bun: [5/5] This is very delicious, it's a perfect mix of sweet and savory. The smokiness from the bacon surprisingly compliments the cinnamon roll buns. Good concept and executed perfectly. If there were an option i'd choose that over having it on the side. Surprisingly I didn't notice it on the side on the sandwich until I was half way through. Still delicious though. Challah french toast [5/5] Tasty and sweet. You can't go wrong with french toast. I added strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and Nutella drizzle (each topping is $3 extra). It was worth the price it was delicious. It came with a side of butter which compliments the sweetness of the toast and some syrup. I didn't use much of the syrup but it was still delicious when I did decide to use it! I wouldn't order this because for delivery because its one of those things that taste so much better fresh in front of you rather than waiting to he dropped off. Service: [5/5] Fast and efficient service! The restaurant works as a team. One man sat me, The middle eastern girl with the long sleeve black shirt took my order and checked on me, and the white boy with the arm tattoos and pen between his ear checked on me at times, and cleaned my table while the girl was busy. It's great to see everyone helping each other and not letting anyone suffer. I Loved it! Overall Cafe social, is a great restaurant to stop by if you plan on going to the mall. Not only is it a 8 minute walk but you're also given a great meal and overall greater experience. I see myself coming back here if I'm ever in norwalk looking for a quick bite!
Stopped by Cafe Social for their Father's Day brunch -- it was packed, which gave it a lively vibe. The food was solid; I had the egg wraps and tried one of their lavender drinks, both were really good. However, service was a bit off. We had to wait quite a while for milk, and by the time it arrived, the coffee had gone cold. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not very attentive, which took away from the overall experience. Good food, but they need to improve the service -- especially during busy hours.
After a trip to the aquarium- we stopped in here for lunch. Fairly large menu to choose from. The place has a nice, cozy but trendy vibe. Service is attentive and food came out fairly quickly. A large menu of speciality coffees and cocktails that definitely looked interesting. I tried the avocado toast Benedict which was served with a side of sweet potato. The Benedict was a nice combo of flavors and filling. The sweet potato was meh and not fries so I would have preferred greens or real fries. My daughter got the pancakes and they were delicious! There was no dedicated kids menu but enough choices.
We stopped here because they allowed dogs in the outside seating area. Service was okay...sometimes great, but sometimes wouldn't come for a little bit. Mango lemonade was delicious!! Food was good, but somehow the bill escalated quickly. I wish they had a kids menu; and when I ordered a side of eggs, a side of bacon, and a side of sausage it ended up costing almost $30 (for a kid). So ultimately, I'm not sure if it was worth the cost.
S'mores Latte for me and Strawberry refresher for my daughter. Both super yummy. Would love to go back and try their breakfast menu. Casual atmosphere. Only downside is parking.
My friend brought us to Caffe Social. I am very pleased to say that my morning was spent well and savor-able. I was greeted by the kind staff and my food and drinks were brought with care. The food itself was great, my money was spent well, and the food was worth coming here. I was very satisfied and enjoyed the food and while enjoying the food I noticed the place itself is very cozy and has a very rustic-modern look to it. Glad to say that I will be coming back to try the other great things in the menu!
"Through the long lonely nights, she filled my sleep Her body softly swaying to that smoky beat Down on Mainstreet" (Bob Seger) On Main Street in South Norwalk, you'll find the Caffe Social, a very cool coffee shop with a hipster vibe. They have a big menu of breakfast choices like eggs, pancakes, waffles, plus sandwiches, salads, snacks, pastries and more. But the real stars of their show are the coffee drinks - hot and cold lattes, expressos, chais, all sorts of chinos, teas, hot chocolates, and a ton more. The interior is very eclectic with a mix of rustic board siding, upholstered walls, blue paint, exposed aluminum HVAC ducts, a big blackboard column listing the drink specials, trinkets and wall hangings all over the place and behind the bar. One very cool feature was a display of the ubiquitous white plastic coffee cup lids that were hand painted into smiley faces, superhero logos, flags, flowers and more. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas to sip your summertime cold brews. We stopped in for a snack and beverages yesterday and ordered a Toffee Nut Latte ($8) with espresso, toffee nut syrup, milk, whipped cream, and Heath Bar crumble, a Pistachio Cold Brew Bliss ($8.50) with pistachio mocha cold brew, pistachio cold foam, and crushed pistachios, an Herbal Tea ($4.50), and a Cinnabun $7.95). My Pistachio Cold Brew was delicious with a deep coffee flavor, and plenty of pistachio syrup and pistachio pieces in my glass. If you're looking for a fun breakfast or brunch place, and are a caffeine lover, you'll definitely enjoy your visit to Caffe Social.
came here with my mom and my sister after stoppping at 2 different places beforehand that had long waits because it was sunday monring brunch hours. we were seated almost immediately which was wonderful but that was the quickest the service was throughout the whole time we were there to be frank. nothing really stood out to me on the menu but I did get the pumpkin smores cocoa which stood out to me the most because I am the biggest pumpkin spice fan and I also wanted hot chocolate which was great. but then I took a sip and probbaly two more and then no more after that because it tasted like diabetes in a cup. but I guess I should have expected that if I was getting an already sweet hot chocolate, whipped cream, marshmallow fluff, and drizzled pumpkin sauce so it's nobody's fault really but mine (I guess). I got the basic batch dish that comes with your choice of eggs, home fries and toast. probably the cheapest plate which is like 11 bucks but then I asked for bacon and it was like an extra 6 bucks? whatever honestly as long as the bacon was good, right? wrong, because the bacon was bland. everyone loves crispy bacon but mine was crispy in the way you would say "burnt to a crisp" type of crispy and not bc it was burnt but because of how DRY it was. and do not let the pictures fool you, I am very talented at taking pictures so the food might look good in the photos but I am telling u, it was not that great in my mouth. you might be saying that I could have just made this plate at home to my liking, but also, if you are cooking this meal to serve to someone else, I think you would at least try to make it good? maybe I am biased because I was having a rough morning and it might have affected my liking to the food, but it is now 9pm when i am writing this and I am still upset with what I ate so maybe I am not biased at all. I asked myself "how could someone mess up bacon?" but what I really should have been asking myself is, "how could someone mess up TOAST" the toast on my plate also came with probably the whole stick of butter spread on it. the same way you would squeeze a sponge full of soap and water when you are washing the dishes was the same way it felt when I picked up the soaked toast to put in my mouth. and do not get me started on the home fries. when I ordered home fries I was expecting regular pan fried soft fries (as one normally would when they eat home fries) but of course, the home fries were not normal home fries but rather french fries just shaped as home fries. now, I was not in the kitchen watching them make the home fries so I could be wrong but these fries had the consistency of DEEP fried fries NOT pan fried. but just as much as I could be 100% wrong, these "home fries" were also 100% wrong. the only good thing on this plate were the eggs Maybe if I hadn't ordered the culinary equivalent of a participation trophy, I wouldn't be in this mess :/
Wonderful place for brunch! There are so many drink/breakfast choices that you can't go wrong... picture shows a pumpkin hot chocolate which was perfect for a chilly fall morning.
Constantly saw this place in my instagram feed and finally decided to check it out! I loved all of their options for Valentine's Day drinks whether it was a latte, hot chocolate or cocktail! The Benedict was really good and loved the side salad that was with it. The gyro was unbelievable! The meat was extremely tender and we never thought of a gyro as a breakfast item. 10/10 would go back just for that! Staff was extremely friendly and the cafe had this cozy at home feeling
Had an amazing time at this restaurant definitely well worth it if you ever in the area to check it out the atmosphere was really nice. Had breakfast here for my fiancé for her birthday. She totally loved it. The service was really good. No delay with the food. It came out very hot. I definitely would recommend this place. It's totally worth it.

This place has so many yummy options! I really liked my coffee and food. There needs to be more cafe's in the world. My lox bagel was super flavorful and also had avocado. But this place is typically really busy and not very big inside so keep that in mind. read more

We absolutely loved this spot! The waitress was super sweet and patient! We stopped by on a Saturday for brunch and it was packed but the wait wasn't long. I had the S'mores hot chocolate and the Bacon Cheddar Omelette! It was all soooooo good! We loved the vibe! Super chill and cute spot! Will definitely return! read more
Best breakfast around! Cool vibe. Dog friendly outside. You really can't go wrong. Their coffee drinks are exotic and dessert centric. Unfortunately they are not a third wave coffee shop, so don't expect to find an Ethiopian pour over. It's mostly dark roast, so I'd suggest an espresso style drink. French toast is a spectacular treat to share read more
I don't like to leave bad reviews during the pandemic but my experience here really was two stars and even that is a stretch. Stopped in on Labor Day for lunch. The places was pretty busy and we waited just a few minutes for an inside table. Once inside the atmosphere was chaotic with loud music playing and staff sipping around the table. Most staff wore there masks but one or two were sporting the classic chin covering. Tables didn't have enough space to insure diners were six feet apart. After waiting what felt too long the waitress took our orders. I Ordered an iced coffee which had potential but was pretty weak. Our water came and it was undrinkable. Either the tap wasn't clean or the bottle had mildew in but out water tasted foul and had a moldy earthy mildew taste. We were pretty hangry and saw people that came in after us eating their meals so we asked the waitress what the status of our food was. Her tone was annoyed and instead of checking the kitchen she checked the POS and rudely notified us that it had only been 20 minutes since we ordered. After waiting another five minutes or so our order arrived. I had the Tuscano panini which lacked flavor and had cold red pepper on the inside. The small side of pasta salad was anemic and had a faint olive taste. The avocado toast that my wife ordered was laughable. The bread seemed like a whole wheat wonder bread variety, the avocado was runny like it was pre-made out of a bag, and the egg was overcooked. The combo of the service, gross water, and sub par food left us disappointed. read more

I'm convinced this is the best Sunday Brunch in Fairfield County. A quadruple threat with great food, excellent coffee, creative cocktails, and yummy desserts. Add to the outstanding service and nothing could make it better except if they could double or triple the size of the restaurant. Regardless, the experience is worth the wait. Don't miss the Benedicts and a new item the Breakfast Gyeero. I was tempted to add on the Wafflets but I came to my senses. Too many great choices, not enough time to eat it all. Make sure you try to answer the riddle up on the column! read more

I went there for lunch before catching a movie on AMC so no eight. The restaurant was lively with lots of people enjoying their food and company. It was a very happy ambience. The waiter was super nice and helpful and recommended the most delicious spicy hamburger I've ever tasted in my entire life. It was delicious. I ordered a blueberry mimosa, which was also delicious. While I was there, I shopped for some desserts to take home to enjoy later on. And I also purchased a couple of Harney and sons herbal teas. Egyptian chamomile and tropical green. I can't wait to try them. I'm sure I will not be disappointed. I'm definitely going back there again soon. It's a great place to bring the family for breakfast and lunch. I'm not sure if they serve dinner though you'd have to look at that up. I left there 100% satisfied and happy and move on to see the movie. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. read more

On a gorgeous September afternoon, a day you just could not sit at home, my daughter recommended we go to Caffe Social for brunch. I had heard of the place but never tried it. The restaurant itself is in a busy side of Sono, and holds the corner spot, so you may have to find parking on the side streets it the Maritime parking lot if street parking is not available. The place was pretty crowded with the outside seating being the main attraction. There is a manager on duty who though very busy, was directing the guests well. Given the folks in the line, I have my utmost respect for her on how she was managing the flow, yet staying attentive and calm. We found a seat after a 15 minute wait, which wasn't bad and it was just great to enjoy the beautiful day, so though the food took 45 minutes to arrive I had no complaints. I ordered the lox Benedict with a side of House fries. On arrival I could tell there was no way I can finish it, it was that filling. It tasted great, the eggs done perfectly and like I mentioned could not finish it. For the ambiance, food and service, I would highly recommend this place if you are in Sono. read more

The perfect spot for brunch/lunch. I loved the huge coffee menu, adorable ambiance, and fast/friendly service. What's wonderful about this spot is that it's a full sit down restaurant with breakfast & lunch options but they also have a huge coffee menu. Anything that you could want from a lavender matcha latte to a macchiato. They also serve alcohol and alcoholic coffee drinks! I had the chai latte, which was perfect. Everything made from scratch - no super sweet syrups here! The ambiance and service is top notch. The decor is quirky and cozy. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. We were here for a quick lunch and were in and out in about 45 min. read more

Delicious brunch and they really know how to make a good coffee! Service was amazing! Loved our waitress! The bar seating area is a little crammed because we went at a busy time, but it's so cute and rustic! Definitely would go many more times. Just make sure you have a reservation for brunch. We were lucky that we got pretty quick seating without one though. read more
The perfect spot for an informal weekend brunch.. a casual setting and yet great gourmet food that will leave you with a very memorable experience. We had some uniquely delicious mimosas too! It can get crowded after 11 AM in the weekends so try to go earlier. I met the 3 sisters a few years back when they first opened the place and was impressed from day one. Keep the good food coming ladies! read more

While out in Connecticut this weekend with my husband - I found this cute little spot through Yelp!! It had lots of seating indoors and outdoors !! There was a small line after we sat down but they accommodate you quickly. The mimosas we had were really good ! Eggs Benedict & the sandwiches are honestly one of the best I have ever had ! I definitely recommended to anyone around this area. It will be worth the wait. read more

I got the strawberry banana juice, it was great! Tasted just like strawberry banana smoothie, but not in smoothie form. Caffe social was nicely decorated and super busy on a weekend morning. It was a little hard to tell on the menu what was what, because each category was labeled something like #justbeatit, and #eggstreme (I was looking for a sandwich but couldn't tell what section was the sandwich section) but I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich to go. I waited there for an hour. There were people who sat down after I ordered, and got their food, ate it, and left before I got my sandwich. I understand it was busy but it took way too long, almost like they forgot about us. The servers were super nice though, and the place had good vibes. read more

Went for lunch. Waited a while after we ordered until the three of our four orders came. My dish came when most of the table was done eating. Then we got upcharged for things. Adding a hashbrown and mayo to a sandwich cost an additional whopping $6. Even worse- the menu lists iced dirty chai $8 and we were charged $10. Good thing we caught it. Check your receipt at this place. Also we were 4 people and we were charged an automatic 20% tip because "it's the weekend" although that policy was not on the menu. Felt scammy. Also all our dishes were notably lacking sauce... to add sauce was another upcharge. read more

I really liked this place as a breakfast joint. Parking is available in a garage right around the corner. I believe that there's a lot nearby that charges a dollar an hour as well. The place is busy, so plan to arrive early for breakfast if possible. We came as walk-ins and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad. The one thing that I'll mention is that spacing is super tight. There's tabletop seating as well as regular tables, but the tables are virtually connected to each other. Also, the staff doesn't mask up, so if you're still worried about Covid, then this place isn't for you because you've got zero distancing options. The portions for breakfast are very hearty, so you'll leave well satisfied. I had a burrito omelette that had sausage and onions and was served with a salsa on the side. Delicious! Their waffles are also well prepared, fluffy and tender. You've got a variety of omelette options, pancakes and more. The service is great. Staff is friendly and checks on you regularly. Very good in terms of service. Very good breakfast joint overall. They do brunch as well. I highly recommend them! read more

Ha! This is my spot. I love it here! Love the staff always pleasant! Good seating arrangements! The place is lively. Good for business meet ups, brunches, or even it's just a cookie and coffee. My favorite here is the kale Cesar, add grilled salmon! I mean... so good! Every time. I'm faithful to that salad! They also offer good fun dishes such as s'mores French toast. The menu changes I believe from time to time. Sone items are forever too. Anyways, try it, it's a goodie! read more

Came here for a little birthday brunch! This place is just down the street from the Maritime Aquarium. There has always been a significant wait here but we got lucky and got right in this time and now I get the hype! The drink menu options were endless and just flat out cool. A Reese's hot chocolate (that could be made iced if you want?) I mean come on, yum. We all got Benedict's which we enjoyed but the real winner were the homefries that came with them. They seemed to be battered with some sort of sour cream and onion mix that was just scrumptious. read more
