I needed some caffeine and a seat while waiting for lounge admission 3 hours prior to flight departure--Caffe Nero looked like a promising option so we dropped by. The location is right in the center of Terminal 3, adjacent to an open seating/waiting area between shops and restaurants. Caffe Nero has its own seating section for customers with caffe tables configured for 2-4 guests. No seating inside the shop. The storefront has packaged fresh food like sandwiches, salads, a pastry display case with variety of pastries, then juices and waters in addition to their main offerings of coffee and tea drinks. Lines were steady and the store was bustling, though service was quick. It took about 5 minutes in line then to order, then another 5 minutes for drink to be ready. My pistachio iced latte £4.40 ($5.95) with soy milk was ok, the pistachio syrup was strong and a bit artificial tasting though my biggest issue was that it was waay sweet. I would've enjoyed it if it had half the amount of sugar. Maybe i'll just get a regular coffee if stop by again. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the counter. We ordered a Cappuccino, Black Coffee, Waffle, Porridge, and a Croissant. Our drinks were served, and coffee was excellent--rich in flavor, well-brewed, and made from quality beans. The black coffee without sugar was especially smooth and bold, just how we like it. The snacks were also fresh and delicious, with the croissant being the highlight buttery and warm. Our kid enjoyed the porridge, which was both healthy and tasty. I'm a big fan of Cafe Nero because they carry coconut milk, and outside of Starbucks, few do. At the airport rather early we got in line at this Cafe Nero to order a pistachio latte with coconut milk. The service was on the slower end, and there should be only two lines and not four since you can get a slower barista, but overall my drink was great and I love having the option to order coffee with my milk preference. All in all, if you're a coconut milk girlie like myself and in Europe, you should definitely check them out. read more

This coffee shop was packed so I did have to wait a while to order. But when I did order I got my drinks quickly. They have a ton of grab n go foods and different drinks to order. The area where they were making drinks was pretty messy and dishes were piling up which was a little off putting as they seemed to struggle with where to place cups down to make drinks. This was the first place that we stopped when landing at Heathrow. It looks and feels like your average airport coffee shop and it gets the job done. I'm not sure if it was just me, but I ordered my coffee and it came out way more hot than usual. I am absolutely appalled by the way my family was treated at Café Nero in Terminal 3, Heathrow. We are a family of five and were seated at a family table. We had been purchasing food and drinks throughout the night while waiting for our flight. Two of my very young children fell asleep at the table, quietly and without causing any disturbance. A member of staff then approached me in an abrupt and aggressive manner, told me I had to wake my children immediately, stated this was "not a place to sleep", and threatened to call security if I did not comply. This was done with no empathy, no discretion, and no basic human decency. My children were distressed, particularly as they have neurological needs, and were simply exhausted after a long night of travel. There was absolutely no reason for this interaction to be handled in such a hostile way. I want to be clear that the night staff earlier were polite, professional, and kind. This particular member of staff, however, was shockingly rude and should not be dealing with the public, let alone families or children. For a major international airport, this level of behaviour is unacceptable. Families waiting overnight for flights deserve understanding, not threats. I will think very carefully before using Café Nero again. read more

I didn't even know I had the option of whip cream so I originally said no and the barista was kind enough to let me know there was a dairy-free whipped cream. She also made me aware that switching the frappe to oat milk would make the drink less thick, although I was aware I appreciated her letting me know; as I think people expect a certain texture in a frappe. Horrible experience! I purchased a tomatoe soup bowl, a cheese cake , And a drink and the man who rang me up put the plastic tomatoe Soup container in the microwave.. Then gave it to me hot to the touch, when I sat down to eat, I opened the lid and the soup splattered all Over my clothing due to the pressure inside of the container from the heat! It should be common sense when you heat up an item you don't put it in a microwave in a plastic container with the lid still on My cheese cake slice was much thinner then displayed, they seem to have been more focused on closing up and getting everyone out of the cafe seeing to how there were only 3 tables open, and everything else was blocked off and unwelcoming. Excellent food option at Heathrow Airport. I had to think twice about coming because the line was extremely long and it moved at a snail's pace. However, I was more than happy I did stick it out. I grabbed a couple croissant, fruit salad, an Americano and a tomato and mozzarella panini. As I continued to wait at my terminal, I decided to eat the panini-- I instantly wished I bought two, but unfortunately, you can't leave the terminal once they have scanned your passport. What an excellent sandwich-- the croissant was cool, but I could think about was that panini. You know, this place is exactly what it is, a quick stop for a quick meal before or after a flight. I had some time to wait and hadn't had a chance to grab breakfast just yet so I decided to grab a quick meal from here before boarding my flight. I'll tell you, I was a bit flighty (no pun intended) that morning. Sleep deprived, anxious, and just plain absent minded. After making my way through security and what not I found myself here, browsing their cooler for a sandwich. I picked something that looked appetizing, grabbed a bag of chips and a water and went to pay. After having my sandwich toasted I went to the high top seat and downed my food. The whole time I was doing this I was on my phone and tablet and just went with the motions. Nothing spectacular about the food. It was filling for the moment. After I had finished I went about my business of cleaning up after myself and collecting my items. I made it halfway back up the terminal when I realized I had forgotten my phone. My stomach dropped and I probably looked like a total idiot making a 180 in the middle of walking and booking it back down here. I went back to where I was sitting and my phone was gone. Crap. One of the patrons must have noticed I looked panicked and asked if I was looking for a phone. Yes, Yes! Leave it to the Americano to order a Café Americano. Also, I am the only one that ordered a large drink. I know all the UK jokes involve the size of Americans but I say go big or go home. In this case I'm doing both. Cafe is great pre long international flight and when trying not to sleep after a night of partying is the way I will cope with Jet Lag. Also get rid of your Pounds! I don't mean workout or take a really large dump. I mean use your Pounds and Pence before you leave England. Nothing sexy trying to buy something in America and trying pay in Pounds. I do like the layout with snacks and 4 cashier lines. The service is great but I would prefer stronger coffee. The roast is a lot smoother compared to American coffee that I am accustom to. Cafe Nero is always a nice go-to place for light meals and coffee selections. This location is no different. What I like about this location is the interior design. It surpasses many of their larger city locations in the design area. Their service also was very nice. What I didn't like though (hence the 3 stars) is that it appeared to me that their food selection is a bit smaller than their other locations. I also wished they would add few more seating options inside the store. But to their credit, considering its an airport locations, they do have tons for settings right outside the store that belongs to the terminal. Overall, I still recommend this location for a quick food stop that will make you feel you are doing the right healthy thing. read more

I stopped in here on my way into Central London from my hotel. I swear this is the BEST coffee shop EVER! it is so cool. there is a relaxed feel. i could sit there for hours. I ordered a Cappuccino and a Triple Belgian Chocolate Muffin. Talk about HEAVEN! If you stay in, they serve you on real dishes. There is plenty of seating and enough space for you to wait for your flight with your luggage. The staff was super nice and were fast. no wait at all and this was during the morning rush. I burnt my hand on an appliance on the counter, that has NO warning label next to it and instead of sympathy the staff laughed. No one offered a cold press, water ice of anything. Getting burnt is a shock but the staff's reaction was very unsettling after a long flight and even longer layover. It's as if Caffe Nero is specifically avoiding opening in NYC so I'd only ever HEARD good things until now. While I enjoyed my mozzarella and tomato panini I was surprised by how inexpensive it was. Considering they are in a hotel they easily could have tacked on an extra pound, maybe even two. I'd say that's one of the more striking differences with Pret A Manger (which I'm guessing people like around here as I've seen 2-3 just in this Terminal), is that while the food ideas (like egg pots, juices, etc) it tends to be a little cheaper. They really, really need to improve their wait times and overall customer service, but as long as they're taking in money they won't give a #@!*. Second time round it wasn't much better, but by then and having seen the attitude I decided to leave it. Sincerely, one of the few places that I've found who don't use an automatic machine to brew their.....brew. They actually grind the beans themselves and create the cup of coffee, which resulted in a delicious cup of coffee right before I headed to my terminal for my flight.
