Gotta a luv a place that's open 24 hours in such a busy airport. The staff is professionally warm and very efficient. I was there in the wee hours the day before the Olympics began and they smoothly run a tight ship. Now, if the gaggle of suits planted smack in the middle of the line would just park their bums to the side....but it was 5:30 am and before I'd gotten my hot chocolate. Good muffins and the coffee smelled good and served to wake up the populace. In addition, they have a good assortment of packaged sandwiches in case you're at a run.

(4.25) ~ Very good Flat White(see photo) which was popularized in Australia, and now is a global trend. Traditionally it's made with partially homogenized milk, which gives a creamier mouthfeel. I like Flat Whites better than Cappuccinos and American Caffe Lattes, because of the creaminess.

The cappuccino with a decorative chocolate sprinkle.

It's very busy and popular in T5. Prices are high but it is an airport. Best coffee landside is Nero in departures.

This is a busy Costa right at the exit of customs. The team here does a good job. Try the flat white.

I have to say it was some of the best espresso and chocolate croissant I've had. Albeit a bit pricey on what you're receiving, the quality and grandiose more than makes up for it. This cafe has a limited menu featuring breakfast, pastries, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. We were there around 8am and the Louis Vuitton store adjacent to it was already open as well for folks who were in the mood to shop. The espresso was served in a beautiful glass adorned with the LV monogram symbols and the plate as well. Everything in each little detail was adorned with the monogram pattern. When I asked for sugar it was served shaped as a monogram flower. The napkin had a monogram flower and it was just so classy-ly done. What stood out to me was the croissant being brought by the chef himself and it was massive. There was powdered sugar sprinkled on top with the monogram flower shown in the sugar. The chocolate filling was made with some of the best chocolate one could have and the croissant itself was so flaky. It probably took me at least five to ten minutes to finish it because it was that big. Staff here was pretty friendly and I loved the touch of the bar decorated with three beautiful louis vuitton trunks. Take a moment to look around and appreciate the art, architecture, design, and interior decorating. It is all a blast.

This Starbucks is in a VERY busy, VERY chaotic food court-like area of Terminal 5 at Heathrow (nearish gate A9). I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are for, this was probably one of the most pleasant Starbucks experiences I've ever had at any airport. It's a little confusing about where to get in line, but the staff did a great job at calling people forward. I was greeted by a lovely young woman who was all smiles, was engaging and humorous with me about my drink order (which had a very personalizations that frequently get wrong when I'm ordering in person), took the time to repeat my drink order back to me. It just felt like a moment of calm and connection! My drink was made just right; the person who crafted it for me/handed it to me was also friendly! I had loads of time between flights, so I wasn't concerned about how long it took (it didn't seem like I waited long before they were calling my name!). Grabbing a coffee here, a salad from Pret, and finding a place to sit nearish the windows was a great way to spend a couple hours between flights!
