It's nostalgic and the best sandwich shop. When I studied abroad in London back in 2006- I was so…read morelucky to live up the street and got to eat here everyday! I've come back to visit London several times since then (most recently in September) and its amazing how all the shops have changed on this block but this sandwich shop still remains! I am sooo glad it's still here! Seriously the best sandwiches, hot dishes such as Samosas- still cheap and fast service! Love that the locals come here everyday and know they can get the best sandwich or hot food from here! I'm obsessed with their simple bacon and egg sandwich (all comes on a baguette) I get it with no sauce of any kind. My second choice- chicken with corn. Simple yet so tasty. No need a million toppings-

This is the best sandwich shop in the world and I look down on anyone that disagrees. Just kidding…read more The sandwiches and employees here are pretty amazing though- as are the prices! I came here 9 years ago when I was a student and vowed to come back to try more tasty treats. I did just that and brought my husband this time! We ordered: -Tandoori sandwich (hot) -Peri Peri Chicken sandwich (hot) Both were so delicious, huge, and under 3 pounds (which is unbelievable)! I would say peri peri chicken was the tastiest. The flavor was on point and had a good kick of spice. If you want to save money and are in the area-maybe to go visit the V&A or another museum, come grab a quick meal to go here first and then have a picnic!

I'm a sucker for a good egg, and this spot appreciates eggs in all of its forms. But where it truly…read morestands out is when it's cooked over medium so it's golden, runny, and velvety dripping down your hands and soaking up in your sandwich. So make sure and have napkins handy. My husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich while I had the cheeseburger for breakfast since the "slut" specialty sandwich wasn't available. My husband said his sandwich reminded him of one his mom used to make at home growing up, which is a lovely sign. Mine was a slightly above an average burger with a touch of dijonnaise and pickles. We also had a side of the truffle hash browns and they were great! Just a classic, crispy hash brown with a hint of truffle flavor. I hope to try another sandwich before my trip ends. But if I don't, I'm pretty happy with my experience!

Love Love Love Love!!…read more I missed my opportunity to visit Egg Slut in Vegas so I was not only shocked but over the moon to try it in the UK! The line is long. Very long. Almost never-ending long and there is barely any seating upstairs or downstairs but never fear because outside directly infant of the store also has no seating lol My husband and I crossed the street after getting our food and sat on the benches outside. We absolutely loved every aspect of the meal. The sandwiches were filling and jammed packed with flavor. The price was average for the area and the hash browns are the best I have ever tasted. I cannot wait until I visit Egg Slut again

I've only ever been in there for coffee and the occasional breakfast, but the lunchtime trade here is always busy. Everyone gets the sort of friendly greeting from the Mediterranean owners, as if they are a recognized and valued customer. In fact they are so welcoming, you get a guilty feeling if you have not been in for a while, as if you are letting the business down (self-induced, nothing to do with the owners). The breakfast is a basic English. I've had better and I've had worse. It's just a consistent English breakfast. It's strange; I love my coffee, but can only drink a cup of tea with an English breakfast. Am I the only one? They do a lovely smooth latte at £1.80 for a small and £2.20 for a large, it is such good value. I love coming here for an unhurried, relaxing coffee, and usually catching up with someone I know to hear the local gossip. There is a constant stream of customers coming for take-out sandwiches. Writing this review has made me feel I should really come here more often, and support the local independent guys locally more often. I would hate to see businesses like this disappear, being muscled out by the larger chains. It really is a little gem. I went to pay for my two lattes at £4.40. Gave them £10, and they gave me £6 change with a smile and a wink (see what I mean about feeling guilty, for not supporting it more?). If you're in the Maida Vale area and want lunch, it's the ideal place to try out. It is only open for breakfast and lunch though.
