Plain bagel with cream cheese and a machiatto!
    Alvin D.

Good food, service could use a bit of work. We ended our London weekend by going to the Four Corners before heading to the London Eye. Based from all the pictures and reviews we thought it would be a nice place to get some breakfast. When we got there we were confused about the menu as they only show the drinks, but not the food. We were told you order "basically what you see" which isn't very helpful considering there's some things hidden away from our sight like all the condiments that weren't told to us. You pretty much have to know the menu from another person to fully understand what they have. I just went with a plain toasted bagel and a macchiato while my friend got a toasted bagel with avocado and some iced tea. The person making our food was really friendly, but I'm not a fan of avocado and some of the avocado from my friend's bagel was spread onto my bagel which I wasn't too eager about. The macchiato was what I had expected and tasted like other macchiatos I've had in Europe so that didn't surprise me too much. If they made ordering food as easy as they do for drinks, it would make going here a more enjoyable experience.

I found this place on yelp when I was looking for a good coffee place close to Waterloo station. It is a dainty coffee shop and not one which is easily spotted on the high street (if even on the high street). As it is small, there isn't a lot of sitting area. As you walk in, you will see that they have about 3 tables capable of sitting 4-6 people and two little tables to only sit two. On the right hand side, there are two round tables with metal stools which I have to say I found rather uncomfortable ;( There are pictures on the wall of what I would have guessed to be customers who have been travelling and it states where that picture was taken e.g. Singapore, San Francisco etc.. I liked that as it creates an even more cozy atmosphere. I ordered a black coffee and the guy told me to sit down, he would serve it when it's ready. One sip of the coffee and I then believed why it's an award winning coffee shop. I sipped through my coffee quickly without realising... Waiting for a friend has never been so rewarding! Another order of a latte for my friend and cappuccino for me. Our chat was even more interesting with this coffee. When I say that the cappuccino is the best I've ever tasted, you won't believe it! I had one sip and got hooked. I took my time so it won't finish but how I wanted another! 3 cups of coffee would not be smart to have in an hour though! I am craving to go back already and I'm glad to know that I now have a spot when in Waterloo waiting for a train or person. Tip: try this place, you will not regret it!

Achingly hip, but none the worse for it- a fantastic range of ( well made) coffees, very professional and efficient staff. Cakes and sandwiches look good, although I haven't sampled them. Highly recommended.

Great coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. I struggle to give coffee shops *5 due to the vast array of excellent coffee places there are in London these days. I've been coming here for a while and the service is always given with a smile and although small the shop does offer a nice chilled area to seat and waste the day away. Haven't found a better coffee in the cut so far.

Great coffee shop close to Waterloo station . I was hunting a good flat white .... I discovered by chance Four Corners. Excellent flat white ! Staff really friendly , good sandwiches . The interior is decorated with maps !!! And a lot of pictures from travelers . Loved the vibe ,will definitely be back ! I

Nice place for solo travellers. Nice desert cakes. Ambience is cosy and comfortable, small group get together is a nice choice.

Fantastic coffee, wonderfully quirky and loved the vibe. Highlights include a tabletop made of Lego and neon indoor signage. I had a perfect, reasonably priced flat white. Look out for the pretty mint exterior. Will definitely be back.

Without doubt the best coffee shop I tried, and it was recommended by a local. The simple and green front-door is great, predict to potentially find a great place. Inside it is the opposite, full of colors, stuff placed everywhere, and we understand that the owner may love travelling and browsing the world. The main table immediately attracted my attention, made with Lego, well done. But not only, the cake seemed to be so good, I tried the Banana cake. Not a must-try, stay on the classic Carrot Cake. The velvet cake seemed to be great too. The cappuccino here, is my favorite, the best I tried during my food trip in London. they also have an impressive choice of tea. The staff is really nice, friendly and available. Another neighborhood I liked, and I felt more relax here

Terrific breakfast and the owner and staff were wonderful. The coffee was great and the freshly squeezed juice was phenomenal.

The coffee was decent, but croissant was the worst i've had. It tasted much like bread, was not flaky at all.

He had looked up restaurants that served a full English breakfast, and Kennington Lane Cafe was highly regarded, and it happened to be a few minutes away from our B&B. We loved our breakfast so much that we went back a second day. What I liked about the menu was that is was easy to create exactly what you wanted. You could order a set breakfast (and easily add on extra sides), or you could pick and choose what you wanted, and make the breakfast as small or as large as needed to match your appetite. The breakfast I created had a small steak, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, and bubble and squeak. Delicious! I don't have an itemized bill of exactly what we ordered and the price of each item, but the totals on my credit card bill are £20.89 the first day and £20.50 the second day, and each bill included breakfast and coffee for two. Essentially, you can get a full breakfast for £10 -- a fantastic deal. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England; Poor and hungry?]

My friend and I stumbled across this cafe en route to an event and dropped in on our way home to try it. We both had a cup of herbal tea and I had a slice of cake. Staff were really friendly and it was a nice spot to spend an hour or so. The cafe also has various items for sale including plants, crockery, candles and kids items, however I found they were priced pretty high. This is why I dropped a star on my review as I found it was on the pricier side. Tea was £2 and a slice of cake/cupcake/pastry was £3. I did enjoy my tea and cake and the cake was homemade but it was a bit of a small portion to justify the £3 price. However I appreciate the vicinity of the cafe probably warrants the price and it is in quite a touristy area with the London Eye a 5 min walk away. The cafe has been there 4 months and it makes a change to visit a local business vs a chain cafe, hopefully it is here to stick around. So give it a go! Hopefully they will become a bit more generous with the portion sizes!!

Unacceptable and Disgusting Behaviour from Scootercaffe Staff…read more I've lived locally and supported Scootercaffe on Lower Marsh for over six years. It has always been a part of my routine -- a local spot I chose to give my business to. That is no longer the case. On Wednesday, 19th June at 1:28 PM, I came in for a drink and something to eat. I was polite, calm, friendly, and approached the counter with a simple question: I asked what paninis were available. The woman behind the bar, approximately 5'7", mid-20s, mixed heritage, British, responded curtly with: "We don't sell paninis." Her tone was aggressive, dismissive, and unnecessarily sharp. I responded that I thought they served food, and she snapped again that they only serve toasties -- in an even more unpleasant tone. It was not only rude, it was disgustingly rude. There was no professionalism, no effort to help, no basic courtesy. Just attitude. Despite this, I still placed an order and sat down. I waited 25 minutes with no food, no communication. I returned to the bar and spoke to another staff member -- a man, approximately 5'9", mid-30s, white, Scottish accent, medium build -- who informed me that: "My colleague forgot to put your order through." No apology. No explanation. Just more cold indifference. I waited an additional 15 minutes. Still nothing. At this point, I had waited 37 minutes. I calmly asked for a refund. He replied: "We don't give refunds." That is categorically false. As someone who owns and runs multiple businesses, including cashless venues, I know exactly how systems work. After a back-and-forth, he reluctantly refunded me -- using coins from the tip jar. One-pound coins and 50p pieces, handed over without so much as a basic "sorry." Moments later, the toastie appeared -- brought out by the same woman. Not to my table, not with a word of apology. Just shoved into my hands at the bar like I was a nuisance. At this point I made it clear I no longer wanted the food and that I was leaving. As I walked out, I calmly said I would be writing a review. The man laughed and replied: "Looking forward to it." Both staff members laughed as I left. Let me be clear: this was not just unprofessional -- it was humiliating. I was mocked by two staff members for daring to speak up after receiving disgustingly rude service and being left without food for nearly 40 minutes. The energy was juvenile, passive-aggressive, and bullying in nature. It was appalling. This Review Is to Hold Them Accountable This isn't about a wrong order or a slow day. This is about the way human beings are treated. I run businesses and manage teams -- I understand pressure. But what I experienced wasn't pressure. It was contempt. Mocking a customer to their face, offering no apology, and showing zero responsibility is shameful. The behaviour of both staff members was disgraceful, and they must be held accountable. I did not stay quiet. I visited several neighbouring businesses and shared what happened, Greensmiths Deli was one of them. The reactions from staff and owners nearby made it clear this is not the first time someone has flagged rude behaviour at this café. On top of that, I have a social media following of 1.5 million. If necessary, I can share this experience with a wide audience quickly. I take hospitality and service seriously, and I won't stay silent when customers are treated this way. To the Owners This is your team. They represent your name and your café. If this is how you allow your staff to treat paying customers -- laughing at them, insulting them, embarrassing them -- you are complicit. These employees were not just rude. They were disgustingly rude. There was no excuse for it. None. Why I Included Staff Descriptions I've included brief physical descriptions so that if you happen to be served by these individuals, you can be fully aware. If your experience is anything like mine, it is only fair that you know in advance. These people should not be in public-facing roles, and they should be held responsible for their disgraceful conduct. Final Word Scootercaffe may have charm as a venue, but that is meaningless when the staff treat locals with contempt and bullying behaviour. I strongly advise against going there. Spend your money elsewhere -- there are plenty of other brilliant independent cafés on Lower Marsh where customers are treated with basic dignity and respect. This review is not just a warning. It is a record. A record of how some businesses fail at the most fundamental level: treating people like human beings.
