The dining room itself is very pretty, with just the right amount of flourish with flowers and tree branches for it to backdrop a romantic dinner but not too frou, so equally comfortable for a friendly meetup, like the group of 6 men at the table next to us. Such a warm welcome from the greeter, then waiter, then servers. They were courteous, helpful with decision-making, and rewarded our own common courtesy with little extras. Most critical: the food was universally terrific! It totally lived up to the amazing aroma that we both commented on when we entered. For people preferring more mild dishes, the chicken Murgh Makani is a great choice, the tomato-based sauce was much more flavorful than any similar masala-like dish we've gotten from our own local spots. I could eat that Chakra sauce with a spoon, but the rosemary naan was a way more delicious delivery system. Ordering for myself, I dithered between two of the vegetarian eggplant dishes. The waiter was well-informed and could answer all my questions but also very kindly brought a small dish of the other selection, too, so I'd "know if you'd like it better, for next time." Who does that?!? Both were excellent; the eggplant bharta was exactly as described, with a smoky undertone, and the bagare baingan has a beautiful sweetness. Rice was perfectly cooked and charmingly served in a curvy metal vessel. The samosas were very well prepared, not mushy inside like many. Had a bit of a spicy kick but the condiments cooled the heat. Several of those were provided, all tasting freshly made, not from a jar. They even had the hoped-for bowl of fennel candy to scoop on the way out! No parking lot, but a public one was a block behind it and we easily found street parking (digital meter, $1/hr) even closer. This place was a real score.

There a also section for Indo-Chinese dishes if interested Here's what I ordered: -Lasooni Gobi - "lasoon" roughly translates to garlic, and that is exactly what I taste. Sweet and spicy sauce coating well-cooked cauliflower. After it was finished I was't afraid to clean the plate myself. -Volcano Cheese Pahadi Paneer - clay oven baked paneer with a smoky grilled char. Well seasoned and tender topped with cheese melted so perfectly that you could pull for miles. Veg Biryani - seasoned with Indian spices and beautifully colored. The potatoes were easy to split with a fork which personally I could never get right. Paneer Tikka Masala - Beautiful red color, spicy and sweet. You could actually see the various spices they used to make this wonderful curry. I liked how there was a hint of acidity from the tomato base. Saag Paneer - Not too wet or dry. I loved how for this dish the saag kind of loosely sticks to the paneer and not fully coat it, giving it that yellowish-green color, but also absorb the spices when eaten alone. Shahi Paneer - This one caught me by surprise, because, I was expecting it to look similar to the Paneer Tikka. Probably from the cashews they blended in. Though I loved the nuttiness that comes with it, I did find it to be slightly oily as it slowly started to seeped into the other curries on my plate. I will say though, tasting all curries together is delightful experience. Garlic Naan - good amount of char and thinly rolled. Easy to break apart with one hand. This is one of the best foods i have ever eaten and amazingly not to far from where I live. If you're looking for a joint who puts great pride in what they prepare, then this is the place for you!
