I love Cafe De Luca! Excellent food and very tasty martini's. Love coming here for girls nights and its perfect for date nights as well.

I liked this place. The tortellini carbonara was good, very rich and creamy. My husband liked his dish and was surprised at the heaping portions of high quality seafood. The service was good, very attentive. We went in winter and didn't order any cocktails but we look forward to going back in the summer and having drinks on the patio. What a great find in FP! A friend and i were looking for a great brunch spot between her house in the burbs and mine in the city, and stumbled on Caffe de Luca (I work in FP, so I love to try places in town). It's a GREAT spot for brunch! We obviously wanted a boozy breakfast, and I loved the $3 mimosa special. My bloody mary loving pal seemed pretty happy with her selection as well, which came with a beer chaser and a wide assortment of little toppings and munchies. If I hadn't had to report to work, I'd have definitely had a second mimosa. I ordered a bruschetta omelet, which was REALLY good. the mozzarella was very fresh and gooey, and the tomatoes added great flavor. I also got a side of pancakes, which was totally indulgent, but a great way to indulge sweet and savory for one low price! The atmosphere was great-- it felt very uptown and well considered, and I was surprised how empty it was in there! Try it out if you live in the area and miss the kind of great boozy brunches you can get in the city. read more

I have worked with Jacinto for multiple private events for my job and could not be happier. They have a beautiful set-up on their second floor for private events. There is even an outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. For a few of our events we have had to accommodate guests with a variety of food allergies and preferences. Jacinto has been great and worked with the chefs to modify our food selections. The food is nothing shy of amazing-I had four events here within 45 days and looked forward to eating here every time! Okay let's start this,i was Very surprised at this restaurant, my wife ordered chicken marsala, which I tasted it and was very very good not the best but very good I on the other hand ordered the lamb which actually sucked it was Served cold. Also it tasted like my mothers beef stew.Which if I wanted it would've been great but my lamb was not supposed to taste like that.I didn't complain because I don't like returning food but I would never go back to this place again so many other restaurants that serve really good food although I must say the mussels appetizer very good.they are more concentrated on refilling your drinks then preparing a good meal. I sat down at 6:15 and literally got up at 7 o'clock. That's with having two drinks ordering appetizers and a full meal ,I felt like I was rushed,I felt like I was at McDonald's,in fact I probably spent more time eating at a fast food restaurant than I did there.place is very comfortable but for the money ?ill go somewhere else ! read more

I have enjoyed this place several times. Have had brunches, dinners and even just stopped in for drinks. Always excellent service and food. They used to have Eggs Florentine with lobster meat. My famiy just had Sunday brunch. The service was perfect. We were left alone just the right amount of time so our large group could socialize and not feel rushed. It was pretty hot outside but the shady interior with the breeze through the open front was very comfortable. The food was fresh tasty and well prepared. I had the eggs Florentine. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the spinach was fresh. I loved the Italian bread it was on. The fried potatoes were fluffy and crisp. Everyone at the table loved their choices. Great restaurant! I've ordered the steak from here a few times and each time it is cooked to perfection! The shrimp was also very good and the roasted potatoes could be a dish on their own. The delivery is ALWAYS either early or on time which is a big reason I keep ordering from here as well. First off, their food is delicious. The portion sizes are good, and the staff is friendly, (a few of them even recognize me). The one thing I don't like are the prices. They're a little high for my tastes, but if you're doing an occasional date night or something special, this is the place. They have two floors of seating, including an upstairs deck under the stars with heat lamps for chillier days. There's an indoor fireplace, nice and cozy atmosphere, and even outdoor seating in the summer. read more

One of those places that pretend to be something they're not. Uninspired menu, where most of the items are way overpriced for what they are. For Christ's sake, take that pizza of the menu if you don't know how to make it, hands down the worst I had in a while. Mussels appetizer - absolutely boring, no sauce, no twist, just tasteless boiled mussels. Pasta - way too spicy and too much sauce, which I'm sure comes from a can. Wait staff - uneducated and awkward. If you want real Italian food, go across the street to Gaetano's. read more

What a great choice for brunch (available Saturday and Sunday). I didn't try the drinks, but my guest liked her mimosa and they had a lovely rooibos mint tea for me. I ordered a quiche (two offered every day). One of the best I'd ever had and with an extremely tasty side salad (I could have had fruit or chips, but the salad was definitely the way to go). Not cheap (I think the quiche was $12), but a good value nonetheless. Service was very attentive. It's a big high-ceilinged room and can get a little noisy. That's all that keeps it from being a full five stars. read more

I had the recent pleasure of having my baby shower hosted at Caffe De Luca. The prep up to the day was really good, Julie C the manager is very responsive and made sure we had thought of all the little things like a bakery (Dominos on Harlem- excellent choice) and what kind of vibe we were going for (brunch- another excellent choice). The day of the shower was disapointing as the village had decided to block off the street- including the very proximate parking lot across Madison- needless to say this was frustrating. However, the staff at Caffee de Luca went above and beyond to get guests to an alternate parking lot, bring the gifts in for them etc. Just for that extra service alone- I was very grateful. But that is not all. We had the party in the upstair area which is really cute and we had great waitstaff -Georgeann I mean you- that really made all of the guests feel welcome. When more folks showed up than had RSVP'd the staff just added another table and went right on setting up the buffet for brunch. The atmosphere of this place is really great, its a unique little room that feels like you are in a Tuscan home and there is a great outdoor deck facing Madison that is very welcoming and cozy in the warmer weather. But the main reason we chose this place we the food and I was not disapointed. The French toast and Frittata were excellent, the salad was crisp and fresh and the staff kept everything moving along without a hitch. I must say thought that even though the food is excellent (try the pizzas!) it is the dedication of the Julie and her staff that have turned this into a favorite place for me. Julie and the entire team went above and beyond, helping guests up the stairs, carrying gifts and being sure that everyone had drink refills and dirty dishes off the tables in a very timely manner. I cant say enough about the great experience we had. I would reccomend this place for a party, a dinner or brunch. This place has it all. read more

This place is beautiful. We recently had a bridal shower there in the upstairs room. We had a LOT of trouble trying to contact the person accountable for party reservations; she was not there when we first booked the room, she was unclear of pricing, Ive never talked to her in person, and she was rude on the phone when I only called to ask a question. The staff working our party was awesome, and the room was great as well-which included a balcony. I would go there for a meal, BUT never book another party with this Julie character. read more

I absolutely loved the Wicker Park location. Their lattes are rich and foamy. The coffee is so much better than Starbucks, and their prices are very affordable. I always have a hard time going back to Starbucks after having coffee there. Their breakfast items are just as delicious. The breakfast burrito is absolute perfection. I am normally a stickler to the sweet breakfast items, but I usually make an exception here. The breakfast burrito is very filling without that unsettling feeling of eating something really greasy. The flavors are nice and fresh. Their french toast is also wonderful. I love that they top it with mascarpone and berries, so refreshing. Everything they make has that little extra touch that make things so much better. I have only been to the Forest Park location twice for coffee and dessert. The dessert tasting is very affordable and always comes with a delicious arrangement of treats. My only qualm is the coffee and chai lattes at the Forest Park stop has not been nearly as well foamed as their Wicker Park location. At the Wicker Park location, it felt like my coffee was made by real baristas who knew what they were doing. I think the Forest Park stop just has their average waiters making the lattes because they seem to cater more to the dinner crowd. read more

This place was HORRENDOUS!!!!!!!!!!! I had two out-of-townees in to visit this morning and I wanted to take them to a nice brunch someplace, so we decided to try this place out since I live right down the street and always pass by it, just never had the right occasion to go in. First of all the hostess is a complete idiot- we stood in the doorway or 5 minutes while she was talking to another customer, no "just one second I'll be right with you" then when she was done talking to the woman, she ignored us...WE WERE STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER! So I politely cleared my throat rather loudly next to her and said "it'll be a 4 top"....so she turned around and stared at the only table available...for I'll say a good 45 seconds before she put the equation together that maybe that's where we should be seated, honestly...the only table open... Holding my 6 month old in his car seat while the rest of my party sat down, again staring right at her....holding the car seat....I had to request for a baby chair, which she never came back with so i had to squeeze him in between myself and a stranger who was right on top of him on a bench seat....quite embarrassing. After 15-20 minutes of sitting at the table with 2 out of 4 silver ware\napkins, we haven't even been seen by anyone yet to offer us drinks, and when he finally showed up he was an even bigger idiot than the hostess...well I'd say tied. He was toting around a poor little girl, named Nicole, so she could watch how he did things...when I asked if they made their mimosas with champagne or sparkling wine....he didn't understand the question. and forgot to even take one of my parties drink orders, after an additional 20 minutes he brought out 2 drinks....still 2 drinks missing...and we were waiting to make a toast with each other so it was even more awkward. but the best part is that I ordered the bagel with prosciutto and egg and cheese and in fact received a hair with a bagel around it. which took even longer to return- and they never came back to take a 2nd drink order- the waiter disappeared upstairs somewhere the whole time, and Nicole was just sitting at the bar with the other waiters talking the whole TIME!!! At this point I had just had enough and was spinning my champagne- sparkling white wine, i shoudl say, flute around on the table just waiting for anyone to see if we needd new drinks- and when she came to hand us our bill she was like "Oh hey do you need another drink?" YES LIKE 45 MINUTES AGO!!!! WE ALL DID!!!!!!! The service was AWFUL, the food had HAIR in it and I will NEVER EVER return again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!! read more

What a gem in downtown Forest Park! I started my meal with a mimosa...but forget about just oj and some bubbles...they add "grand-ma" aka Grand Marnier! Yummm the perfect cocktail. I ordered tortilla soup that was delicious. Lots of substance to it! The salad I had was insane....it had figs and cheese and chicken and a delicious light italian dressing. This is a must for lunch or dinner! Next time I have to sit outside! read more

This is probably the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to.I If I could rate it a 1 out of 10 I would give it an 11! We had the Grilled Calamari and Bruschetta for appetizers. Both were great, but the grilled calamari makes me want to live there! I had their mushroom risotto, which was by far the best I've ever had! Coffee, drinks and deserts are fantastic too! i came here since i was in the area - CDL and i go WAY back (aka 2 months ago) when it was bucktown. my absolute favoritest salad was discovered at the bucktown loc. so, what did i want THE MOST from here? the chopped CDL, of course. did they have it? yes. was it the same? sadly, no. i tried. i even asked the server if they could make it the same, and she said they'd substitute anything they could so i could make it my own. i asked for no red pepps, no cucs. i tried subbing for feta cheese, but they DIDN'T HAVE ANY. i hate when places dont carry feta. it was red onions instead of green. there was avocado in it, and the dressing was the same. the chicken was sorta the same. but it wasn't. :( :( :( :( :( i weep. furthermore, someone living on the balcony above was spitting on my table. awesome. i moved to under an umbrella. $6 glass of pinot grigio, though. the service was great. i may be back to get other things. i wont sit at that table, though. read more

Caffe De Luca. Rally nice place. Went for a lunch date recently to enjoy the warm weather and sidewalk patio. The sun was out and spring was here. We had an appetizer and also shared a sandwich. The wait service was very efficient, filling drinks as often as needed. They even brought the sandwich and salad out on two separate plates for us. Dinner can be a little pricey, but considering the quality of the food (I've never had a bad dish) it is a steal! Lunch seems to be the perfect time to go. The Pollo Picante sandwich had just the right amount of zing to it. Without drinks, you can have a really great lunch for two for under $30. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. read more

The service is friendly and prompt. Food is perfectly fine, although the menu doesn't seem to have changed since the restaurant opened. The only thing I don't like is the absolutely filthy women's restroom. Toilet bowl and floors haven't been cleaned in years, there's an excessive amount of dirt and grime on light fixtures, etc. I only hope the kitchen is kept cleaner. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Caffe de Luca in Forest Park this weekend for the first time. A large group of friends gathered here to catch up and enjoy some fine Italian dining. Walking into Caffe de Luca, I was immediately impressed with the ambiance. From the old-fashioned ceiling fans to the plantation style windows on the wall, I felt like I was dining at a cafe in Italy. We started out with a round of appetizers including Calamari, Baked Prosciutto (awesome) and Grilled Shrimp. The dinner menu was so expansive that even with 8 of us, no one duplicated their order. There were plenty of options from seafood (scallops, linguini & shrimp) to meat dishes (Osso Buco, Braciola). Caffe de Luca also has an upstairs dining room with indoor and outdoor seating. I definitely plan to visit de Luca again in the summer to take advantage of the outdoor, second level dining experience. read more

IMO the best place to eat on Madison. And it's not just for special occasions. The portion size and excellent quality definitely makes it worth a few extra bucks. I take my family here everytime they're in town. I've gone so much it's hard to say what is best. It's all so good.
