    Wrap and omelette

I'm honestly surprised this place hasn't popped off yet!! I've been here three times now for breakfast and each time it HITS. This past weekend I got the breakfast wrap and my friend got the omelette with plantain chips and rice. The food tastes so fresh and flavorful. The place is usually full of families getting breakfast and the vibes are super wholesome. It is pretty deep in Kenner and I wouldn't have known about it if it was t recommended to me by a friend. If you ever find yourself in the area or craving a yummy Latin breakfast, definitely the spot to come to!!!

The outside isn't very appealing. It's in a strip mall on the main road that runs parallel to the airport. The inside is totally different. It looks well kept and very clean. The server said Jibarito was popular so I got that with chicken. I don't like cilantro so I asked her to substitute Abuelo sauce on the side for Cafetomas sauce. After I ordered another server started their shift. I'm not sure if I got lost in the mix or if my server forgot about me but I sat there for almost 30 minutes with an empty plate waiting to order a piece of flan. The other server came over and took my order for the flan. I asked for the check at the same time just in case. The flan is not super sweet and it's on the firmer size. I thought it was really good. If it wasn't for the long wait I would have given 5 stars.

Place is cleans and nice, service is good, but food was not good at all. Nice presentation and nice coffee, but my chilaquiles were made with tomato sauce, chips were dry.

New Orleans may be the city of indulgence, but let me introduce you to a different kind of decadence--Colombian flavors straight from Cafe Tomás in Kenner. This spot didn't just serve me food; it changed me. The Beef Arepa - A crispy, golden-edged marvel, absolutely stuffed with the most tender, juicy shredded beef I've had in a long time. Every bite was a masterpiece of textures--the crunch of the arepa giving way to rich, perfectly seasoned meat. No notes. Absolute perfection. The Beef Burrito - No rice. No beans. No nonsense. Just pure, melt-in-your-mouth shredded beef wrapped in a warm, pillowy tortilla. This was a burrito that didn't need extra--because when the beef is this good, it is the moment. Elote - Oh, but we are not done. This wasn't just corn--it was a full-blown experience. Charred to perfection, smothered in a creamy, tangy, cheesy concoction that had me licking my fingers between bites. A little heat, a little sweetness, and a whole lot of where has this been all my life? Mangonado - And just when I thought I had reached my limit, this drink swooped in like a hero in a tropical paradise. Thick, luscious mango purée swirled with chamoy and the perfect touch of spice--each sip was a sweet-heat rollercoaster that I never wanted to end. Kenner, you've got a gem on your hands. Cafe Tomás is officially a must-visit.

Great place! Delicious arepas and plantains, I also enjoyed the mangonada smoothie. Everything tasted fresh, it was presented beautifully, fast service, and beautifully decorated interior!

Fast and friendly service from the moment you walk into Cafetomas. Please don't judge the outward appearance of their establishment because the inside is ready to serve you some amazing eats. We chose Cafetomas as an after church lunch spot. Not crowded and can definitely order to-go if you're in a rush. We opted for traditional Arepas and they did not disappoint. Full of flavor and juicy meats, from their chicken and beef options. The outer part was soft and fluffy with a sturdy and crisp texture. Delicious! And did not fall apart. We also tried their Elote, I should have asked for more Valentina but overall was delectable and it was consumed happily. The steak fajitas taco was filled to capacity and more. It was my daughter's favorite, as she ate each piece that fell out from every bite and she left nothing behind. The 2 other tacos were similar, if not the same, meats that was inside our arepas. Still remember the tasty bites of goodness. We hope to return soon to try more of their menu.

Came for breakfast and it was good and fresh. I got the chilaquiles and a latte. We also got the flan and it was a large portion and homemade goodness

First thing after getting off the plane in New Orleans and of all the things we could have eaten, we decide on a Colombian Cafe. I'm really glad we stumbled on this place. The food was fantastic and it was healthiest food we ate on the whole trip. Another benefit was that it wasn't too busy on a Sunday morning, so they let us chill and play cards for a few hours while waiting for the rest of our friends arrive at the airport. I'm going to start with the arepas. Best arepas I have ever eaten. Usually the flatbread is tough or dry. These were fluffy and not dry at all. Fillings were tender and flavorful. Tried both the chicken and meat - both delicious. Jibarito was a nice contrast to the Arepa. Fried green plantains holding the sandwich together give it some nice crunch + starchiness. Beef was well seasoned. Also had a berry berry smoothie. It had the consistency between a juice and a smoothie. I really liked the taste - definitely get berry flavor and it wasn't too sweet or tart. Very refreshing for a muggy day in Louisiana. If you're in the area or need a pick me up before going to New Orleans from the airport, I would highly recommend stopping by Cafetomas Kenner.

Cafetomas is very warm and welcoming . My waitress greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and explained that I could sit anywhere I would like. The ambiance is very cozy and homey which is a plus. I ordered the Jamaica tea, and Arepas, one chicken and one shredded beef which came with a salad on the side and both were outstanding! They were so fresh and crispy I will be back very soon!!!

A MUST TRY! The Arepas were the star of the show!! So so freaking delicious! We ordered an extra 2 because that's how good they were. Of course everything else was good. I recommend you guys order a smoothie of some kind because it's made with fresh fruit and juiced right then and there. I really wanted to try more things but I was just so full. I will most definitely be coming back for more. We had the sweetest lady serving us, she makes you feel at home. All in all the vibes were laid back and chill. Great place to bring friends and family.

We received an enthusiastic greeting upon walking in the door which felt truly genuine, and not the forced feeling that usually accompanies the scripted entry greetings. They weren't busy so we were told to sit wherever suited us. Our server, Jairo was super friendly and eagerly answered any questions we had about both the food and the restaurant itself. I was interested in the panela lemonade, which I loved. It is a darker almost smokier version of lemonade made with brown sugar, which mellows out the acidity with more complex flavors. For an appetizer we had the empanada sampler which is now only 3 ground beef empanadas( my fault for not reading the description because it does clearly say it), it was explained to me that they used to be an actual sampler of flavors but that it is now just the ground beef. They are corn flour based empanadas. This gives the dough a slightly sweeter earthier taste which I personally preferred. They were perfectly filled and the sauces accompanying them were perfectly suited the them. For entrees we both ordered Picada platters. Usually when we go out we make sure not to order the same thing so we can try more things, but his time neither of us would budge. They come with grilled steak, chicken. cased chorizo, and rellena, fried pork belly, plantains, and yuca, served with roasted Colombian yellow potatoes and an arepa. DUDE! I'm glad I didn't give in and order something else. This was fantastic. The steak and chicken were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Sausages were all crispy. The only thing remotely negatively that was can come up with is that the fried foods did need a littl bit of salt. That being said I was more than happy with what was on the plate. I assure you the only reason everything didn't get smashed was I hadn't been awake long and it takes a bit to get my appetite, bit have no doubt I got the rest boxed. There is one key thing I want to say about something else that I ate here. Rellena, ie. Columbian black pudding/blood sausage. Just put it in your mouth, chew, and don't panic. It's amazing. I've had British black pudding and wasn't really a fan. This is different though. It has a much better texture to get off the bat. Crispy on the outside and a perfect density inside. The deep smokey seasonings elevate this to a piece of art. Just trust me on this one and don't descriminate against this sausage Find this little family owned restaurant and stuff your face, you won't regret it.

But the overall experience brings it down to 3 stars. Prices feel high for the casual setup, the place looks tired and really needs a thorough cleaning (a deep clean and freshening up the vibe would instantly boost customer enjoyment a ton), and better interaction with guests would make a huge difference -- friendlier service, quicker check-ins, and making people feel truly welcomed would go a long way. As a local I'm still rooting hard for them because the potential is there and the music is solid. spruce up the space, and improve guest interaction and this spot would be packed and loved by everyone. I opted for the spicy jerk chicken. The lady preparing the food asked if I was sure I wanted spicy because it was not the typical American spicy. I opted in to take the plunge. My nose did run, yes. However, the flavors of the chicken were intense and good. So the spiciness was worth it.  It was served with plantains, green salad,  yellow rice, and cabbage, all of which were good. The lady taking my order and the lady preparing the food were both dynamic. They provided excellent customer service.
