I came here on a random Thursday since my cousin recommended me this place. I got 4 of their Rock Tacos since they had a "Rocking Thursday" deal where each Rock Taco is $2.50 each every Thursday. I also got a bottled Coke from the fridge ($3.00). For the price, the portion was pretty big and had good flavoring to it. The shells were evenly fried so it wasn't too overpowering. I just wished they told me the Consome added to my order was an additional $2.00, as I didn't even know until after they gave me my receipt. The inside looked like your typical fast food dine in place, but it wasn't dirty so the ambiance was okay. Service was alright. The person who rang my order could've been a little nicer, but at the same time she also wasn't too rude if that makes sense. Overall, it's a decent place to grab a couple tacos. read more

That happened another time and I went in there and told the people at the cash register and they saw that they had the ringer off on their phone. My first, in person visit at Pacos Tacos was a success. There is ample parking, as it is a part of a shopping center. The parking lot was easy to navigate and is located near an exit, to the main street. The inside of the store was extremely clean and organized. They have a condiments area, so you can stock up on napkins, cutlery, and sauces. The cashier was very friendly and quickly took the order. The store has a QR code to scan, for their menu. I scanned their menu, before my arrival. A free taco was included with my order and I was able to choose from steak, chicken, shrimp, and etc. I ordered to go and the food was the delicious. My favorite are their shrimp tacos. It is filled with flavor, in every bite. The shrimp were grilled and cooked to perfection. The steak was also very juicy and delicious. I love the food here it's always good! The cashiers are always nice and I've been to both pacos and I can say the same about both places! The only thing I do not care for is when I tried to tip the cashier, they stated they do not get the tips the owner keeps it "for taxes" I asked this at both locations every time I've gone and each time they have confirmed! Came to visit their newest location in the area and grabbed a quick 5 for $10 street tacos. I love I can choose as many meats I want and do a mix and match moment. Decided to go with two pastor, two suadero, and one arrachera. Pastor is marinated pork cut straight from the trompo! Love that it's served with pineapple and trompo is a cooking method on it's own. Pretty cool machine to be honest and a great indicator that it's the real deal. Suadero is almost butter like in the sense it falls apart and is so tender. It's a style of brisket that is perfection. Arrachera is a skirt angus steak grilled so this is a great option if you have a very picky eater with you. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is apparently a new location on the Westbank, so the décor isn't completed yet, but I like how it looks so far! It's a neat open concept eatery with the cooking done in full-view of the customers. I purchased a shrimp version of their Dog Burrito (~$11 regular price), and it was fantastic! The cheese on the outside of the burrito had been grilled to perfection. Slightly burnt cheesy goodness adds that savory umami flavor on a soft tortilla to create a little corner of heaven in your mouth. The shrimp, beans, and Spanish rice were well-seasoned, and the raw onions and cilantro added a bit of zest. Really delicious burrito! It was also huge, so perfect for me to split with someone if I'm having other foods with it! They have a selection of hot sauces and extras (pickles and some toppings) you can try as well. Let me tell you, the hot sauces were no joke. I tried a few and they were HOT. Fun extra though if you're into heat! I also tried a tamarind flavored soda. I like that distinct tamarind taste! That was yummy, but a little bit pricy (~$3). I also got to try their Birria Ramen complimentary as a Yelp Elite Perk. This was disappointing if you were actually expecting ramen. It was more like a beef noodle soup (instead of a chicken noodle soup). The noodles were not quality ramen noodles. I thought it might be the instant kind that you can cook in the microwave. The broth was beefy and flavorful, but it was too salty - maybe it wasn't a good batch. The beef was only partially edible for me since it contained a lot of blubbery pieces (some people like beef fat, but I don't). All in all, the ramen was not good. They have other great food here, don't try ramen at a taco place. Although I will say, I AM Japanese and a self-proclaimed ramen snob, so you can take my opinions with a grain of salt! Like I said, this is a taco place, so I won't take any stars off for this. The one-star loss actually comes from the lack of masks on the staff. All of the customers had masks on, but 5 out of 6 employees I saw there did not have a mask on at all - not even on their chin. I went to Pacos Tacos before the mask mandate was removed as well, so no excuses. Even without a mandate, it's best if businesses have their employees continue wearing masks. read more

Pacos Tacos is definitely a solid taco spot. The food is always fresh and tasty. There is not a lot of seating so if you go when it's busy and want to dine in, you may not have a spot to sit. But people typically don't dine in for long periods of time. This last visit I was pretty satisfied with my food. I ordered 2 rock tacos (birria tacos), a chicken taco and pork taco. I also ordered the queso and chips. The queso was very good, and I added the red salsa to give it an extra kick. I was a little disappointed that you only get the dipping broth for the birria tacos if you order a full order (3 tacos) and not with my 2 rock tacos. Especially considering that I racked up a $25 bill at a taco spot lmao. Other than that, I enjoyed my food and will probably be back again. I've also had the prickly pear margarita in the past it was algood but very sweet just FYI. read more

I was excited to see that this spot has birria tacos! (I'm behind the trend, I know.) So I put in a to-go order of Rock tacos and a side soft shell steak taco to try them out. Overall, I'd have to say it was ok. The pork in the Rock tacos was flavored well and they did not skimp on meat; also, 3 medium sized tacos for $8.50 isn't bad at all! However, I was disappointed with the consome broth...it had no flavor to me! I ended up using the side dipping sauces to add flavor. And the steak taco was meh. Not that my expectations are super high for a flour tortilla with meat, onions, and cilantro, but the meat was super tough and dry and not very flavorful. So, overall, I believe that this spot is good as "chain" taco restaurant, and some dishes are probably higher quality than others. I'd grab the Rock tacos again at some point when I'm in the area. read more

The West Bank finally has a dedicated taco spot! Paco's Tacos is here to make all of my taco dreams come true. I stopped in here on a Tuesday, and I think it was Taco Tuesday or something because when I ordered the five tacos for $10 deal, the woman who took my order through in an extra taco. Score! I got the the Arrachera, Birria, Suadero and Chorizo tacos. It was all so good! The meat was sliced fresh and it's all made to order. They even have a salsa bar, so you can add your own fixins as you see fit. They have margaritas too, so I'm going to have to go back and try them. On Wednesdays, they have two for one margaritas, so you can get two margaritas for $12, which is pretty good. When the birria craze first cropped up in mid/late 2020, I had to see what all the fuss was about and quickly googled "birria near me". Paco's Tacos was the first to pop up, so of course I headed out there to see wassham. Babbbyyy, these are some of the best birria tacos in the city of NOLA metro area -- known as their "Rock Tacos", the birria meat is dripping in the flavorful consome (broth) and is well seasoned without being too salty or spicy. That way you can control the spice level with their assortment of salsas. Additionally, they even have Birria ramen, as well as Costras (think traditional queso fundido and your choice of meat). Since trying the Metairie location, I was so elated to see that they now have a location in the heart of the West Bank on Manhattan. This location gets pretty crowded, and has limited indoor seating & alcohol choices compared to Metairie location -- so it's perfect for to-go or a quick lunch. I've heard a lot of hype about pacos tacos, especially the rock tacos so I had to give it a try for myself. Walking in, there were a few tables and I saw a section for drinks and a sauce bar. The cashier is to the right when walking in. I placed my order fairly quickly and once I was done paying and picked a table to sit at, my order was already finished. That seemed oddly fast for me. We ordered 2 orders of rock tacos and 2 cokes. The food was underwhelming. It was room lukewarm and not hot at all. Didn't seem fresh to me. The sauce bar has a lot of variety, but I couldn't distinguish a lot of the sauces. There's a board that tells you the names and heat level, but on the sauces itself, there is no label of indication. The consome had steam coming out, but it was also barely warm. I was pretty disappointed having heard so many great reviews. I felt like the tacos were missing something. They weren't the most flavorful, but not bland either. I'm not sure what it was missing. One of the best sauces was I think an avocado sauce. It was a thicker light green color and was really good. I didn't really like any of the other sauces. Service was fast and the workers were really friendly. Our order came out to about $22. Not too bad. Maybe my visit was a fluke.
