My boyfriend and I stopped here after walking to the zócalo. El menú del día was only 68 pesos each. It included a cup of soup, bread, mole con pollo y arroz, tortillas, dessert, and a drink.
The soup was very good. It was a thin broth with rice and a few tiny pieces of veggies. The server also gave us diced onions and jalapenos for it, which added a lot of flavor.
The mole was interesting. This was the first time that I've tried it so I don't really have anything else to compare it to yet.
The dessert was a small slice of cake. It was a great way to end the meal.
Also, we got the piña (pineapple) aguas and it was really good.
Note: Since this is so close to the zócalo where the teachers are protesting, tourists should be extra aware of what's going on. We were there on Sunday afternoon and it was calm then. However, we saw a lot of police (8 cars/trucks) pass us on our way home. read more
