Checked this place out while in Oaxaca since they are very well known for their drinks. There was no need for reservation despite the fact that we came in with a large group (9+ people). The inside is quite cozy with dim lighting, really adds to the smooth bar vibe. I ordered a mojito and was pleasantly surprised. Their house tequila is a safe bet and it had a r fr eat balance between sweet and bitter. The burger was also delicious. Cooked to perfection and with the bacon, it simply added another level of flavor. The fries were a little bland for my taste, but that aside it was an amazing dining experience.

Sabine Sabe was on several must-visit lists and Google Docs, so I knew we had to stop in while visiting Oaxaca last month. We arrived not terribly long after opening, so we were seated right away in a half booth close to a window, which was nice. I was pretty hungry, so I ordered the hamburger, and it was quite tasty. I ordered two cocktails as well, one was a gin drink and one was like an espresso martini, and both were delightful. Service was prompt. Prices were reasonable. I highly recommend checking them out.

THE BIG: Located in the historic city center of Oaxaca City. Doubles as a bar and a restaurant. Bar is small, and restaurant is very homey like. No street parking because it's in the historic city center. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was a top 50 north american bar, which peaked my interest in coming here. Vibes are great inside with a huge mezcal wall and just loud enough music. Space is tight inside, but that gives it a homey feel. For drinks, I got the Miguelito cocktail and the wife got a mocktail. Both drinks were very sugary and it was really hard to gulp down. We definitely took our time drinking our drinks. The bar was packed and at one point, a guy offered to buy the entire bar a round of mezcal. That was a hoot. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, for two drinks, we spent around 300 MXN. Very vibey inside, however i've definitely had better drinks elsewhere.

Such a great mix of cocktails, both classic (oaxacan classic where most classic cocktails are made with mezcal ), and specialty house cocktails. I really enjoyed the Naked & Famous (made with Mezcal) and the Pequeño Gigante (nice and herby served with a single rock). Unfortunately, the food did not hit. The fish of the day ceviche (dorado aka mahi mahi) was incredibly salty. I dont usually send back food, but I couldn't eat more than a few bites, so I stopped eating, and they swooped in to offer another dish. I switched it for the fish tostada, which was a different kind of fish, but still very salty. I also tried the molotes de platano, and they were a bit dry. Basically, the cocktails were delicious enough for me to give it 4 stars and plan to return, but I will eat elsewhere.

Favorite meal I had in Oaxaca (and I ate a lot while here). First night in town, came in at 9pm on a Thursday night, we were seated right away but there were also a lot of other people in the restaurant. Waiter spoke perfect English which is always helpful. Loved my mezcal drink, the plantain mole dish and the cauliflower appetizer.

Delicioso bebidas! And my Tacos de Sirloin are my favorite tacos I have had this week in Oaxaca. Our server had great recommendations. The vibe is cool. The drinks are spectacular if a little bit more than some bars around. Absolutely worth it.

Awesome bar in Oaxaca and rated one of the best in North America. Unique and exquisite beverage program. We l loved the food as well - which hit extra hard after walking 30,000 steps during the day. The taquitos and tacos alongside the fresh salsas were a huge hit.

Amazing food, amazing ambience and friendly staff. My fiancé and I came here on a Thursday night at 8 pm with no reservations and was told there was an hour wait but we actually only had to wait 10 minutes so don't be discouraged by the wait time. We had the tacos de lechon, tacos de Chapulin, Molotes de Platano, and we ended it with the crème brûlée. Food was all delicious with beautiful presentation but our favorite was the tacos de lechon. My least favorite was the molotes. Crème brûlée was sooo good and more than enough for two to share. We also ordered a few alcoholic drinks and they were all very light and refreshing. Overall highly recommend you check this place out.

Really cool bar with amazing carefully crafted cocktails by mixologists. The vibe is just right and the staff and service was helpful and very friendly. Every cocktail we tried was delicious not overly sweet and refreshing. We also tried the tajada tlayuda spilt between 4 ppl because we weren't too hungry and it was just right and tasty.

What a great find in the city center. A nice rustic space one would find in more modern commercial cities but it works here in Oaxaca. Service was ok, wait service seemed distracted but we eventually got our food. The dishes were good, a few refinements might have made them great. Hopefully they can improve their flavor profiles and consider adding some textural contrasts in some of their dishes.

Mezcalina de guaba- Mezcal cocktail with guava. Light and refreshing, almost citrusy.

Sabina Sabes is a great little mezcaleteria in the historic section of Oaxaca. I tried a couple of cocktails and the sampler appetizers. The sampler had memelitas, quesillo, chapulinas (crickets), chicaron, y dos types of Carne with guacamole y tostadas. More food than I could eat! I want to come back with others so I can try more things. Great spot, takes credit cards and friendly, helpful staff.

We just grabbed some cocktails. These CRAFT cocktails are amazing, and well worth the stop at the small bar. Get there early if you want a spot at the bar as it was really busy. Several of the on menu cocktails were great and professionally prepared. I also asked for a spicy mezcal cocktail and the bartender delivered a fantastic drink.

We stumbled upon this cute hip & happening bar restaurant in the heat of historic Centro Oaxaca. It's small and vibrant with a wait outside for tables. The bar area is beautiful but tiny and the service I'd superb. We had a great experience here trying the Oaxacan delicacy.. grasshoppers. We liked it. Once you get over the thought of what they are, they are pretty good. We had some very creative cocktails which went down very well.

Selva is a gorgeous little cocktail bar, cozy, stylish, and full of character. The bartenders…read morereally know their craft; they took time to explain each drink and even the garnish pairings, which made the whole experience feel elevated. I made the mistake of showing up on an empty stomach, and that's on me, but that's definitely not the move here. The food is designed as small bites to complement the cocktails, not full meals, but everything I tried paired beautifully. The tuna tostadas were a standout; super flavorful and perfectly balanced with my drink. This is the spot I'd come back to for a nightcap or date, beautiful ambiance, great music, and a refined but welcoming vibe.

My friend quickly said okay not understanding what had just happened until it hit her that she had shushed her. We had reservations and were ready to drop a lot of money for drinks but we asked a server who that lady was and he explained that it was the owner so we got up and left! Many of us were Mexican, others American but we were not about to be support such a place and be treated like that. Super super rude! The servers were nice and respectful though. So- again- don't come here. We weren't even loud but apparently the owner wants a library type of place- lame.
