    Flan de queso

So we came to visit this beautiful city and they recommended this restaurant. They were not wrong. It is so cute and everybody is amazing in here. Our host was so nice and even got us a table that we wanted. Our waitress Carolina was the sweetest in the world. She knew what to recommend. She was very attentive and making sure that we were good. We ordered many dishes to try and none of them were disappointing. My friend got the fish which she said was divine. I got the Oaxaca plate which is a item here that's nice as you get to try a little bit of everything and everything on there was amazing. Another person got that chile rellenos's, which was delicious in some kind of tomato we broth. And the other person got a steak with cheese on top and was so soft and amazing. We ended with dessert with a flan cheesecake which was phenomenal and also a chocolate Tamal. The drinks were great and had a good selection of mezcals and wines or cocktails. Overall, this place is great. Definitely added to your bucket list when visiting here. And hopefully you get to have Carolina as your waitress cause she is amazing.

Food was decent but not amazing. I think it's expensive for the quality and service. Chocolate tamal was good. The brown mole was the best amongst all the mole we tried in the restaurant.

Very popular restaurant, you'll need reservations. I'm not a big fan of mole but I did like the way they made it here. They're also known for adding grasshoppers to their meals, I didn't feel it added any flavor. I can't remember which soup I had but it was amazing so I'm going to assume all of their soups are great. Almost everyone in our party of 15 ordered the steak with cheese and side of mole and were extremely happy with their food.

Went online and made reservations, very easy and straightforward even with a language barrier, arrived for the reservation and was seated in the up stairs balcony seating, fantastic seats and very intimate. Ordered several items including the octopus dinner as well as the appetizer fantastic flavor and taste, had a mezcal drink which was excellent. Finished of the evening with sweet corn cake and a chocolate mousse. This place is fantastic delicious food great setting. Thanks

It was my first night in Oaxaca and Las Quince Letras had high reviews that was nearby so I called to make a reservation ahead of time. My group (17 individuals) were all able to get a table and the service was nothing short of amazing. We entered for dinner and were taking to the top of the restaurant since they have multiple seating areas. I did not get a good look at the inside bottom of the restaurant, but if it was anything similar to the outside rooftop patio, it was beautiful. We were seated in a long table and there was live music playing right in front of us. When we got the chance to order, the staff was so friendly and helpful getting us acquainted with their menu and personal favorites. I went ahead and ordered the TriMole, which came with rice and three different moles. Oaxaca is known for its mole so it made sense to try it. The dish came with Mole negro, Amarillo, and rojo. I would say that they were all amazing in their own way, but my personal favorite was the mole rojo since it had a little more kick. The mole negro was rich and sweet and very complex. Very nitpicky here, but my only critique of the dish would be that the mole to rice ratio was a little skewed. I think serving more rice to mix with the mole would have been the dish a lot stronger. For the table, we ordered all the desserts available and shared. Amongst the desserts we had flan, ice cream sundae, arroz con leche, and pan de elote. They were all good but by far the absolute favorites for the table were the flan and the arroz con leche. The flan was nice and creamy and the flavor was not overwhelmingly sweet.

Las Quince Letras (the fifteen letters) proudly features local Oaxacan cooking, and the restaurant has an upstairs patio that features a great view of Oaxaca. Their house special dish was the Chile de Agua a la Vinagreta, a chile pepper stuffed with shredded chicken and topped with pickled onions, and the appetizer had a nice refreshing pickled flavor, which went nicely with the meaty filling. We also had the Guacamole, topped with pico de gallo, radishes, jalapeños, and grasshoppers (a local delicacy!); and the Sopa de Guias de Calabaza was a chunky vegetable soup made of greens, squash, corn, and corn dumplings, served with a tlayuda topped with cheese and tasajo (grilled beef). For our mains, the Plato Oaxaqueno offered a nice sampling of local specialties including tasajo (grilled beef), cecina (grilled pork), a chile relleno (stuffed pepper), enchilada de colaradito (tortilla with colaradito mole), a memela (thick tortilla topped with beans/cheese), and guacamole. But my favorite dishes were the mole samplers--they had two different versions, each featuring three different moles. The Triologia de Moles contained three thick, sweet moles including the classic black mole with chicken, colaradito with pork, and estofado de almendras (almond mole) with beef rib, served beautifully on a platter with rice in between each of the sauces. The Trio de Moles de Origen Indigena featured three less typical moles, which were a little bit looser/chunkier than the more typical moles: mole amarillo with beef, segueza with beef sirloin, and chichilo with beef rib. Each of these was completely unique in flavor, and it was hard to pick a favorite. But these plates did a perfect job at showcasing the breadth of flavors found in Oaxaca!

Quesillo envuelto en hierba santa con chapulines

I was able to snag a reservation for Las Quince Letras. It's a popular restaurant among locals and tourists so I recommend booking. The restaurant is beautiful inside! The rooftop is very nice and the downstairs is elegant as well. Around 7pm they have someone on the saxophone which was a nice touch. For an appetizer I ordered the Quesillo envuelto en hierba santa con chapulines. I love chapulines and this dish did not disappoint. Highly recommend. It doesn't look like much on the photos but promise it's worth a try. For my entree I got the duos moles. I wanted to try the tres moles but it's only available on the weekends for the traditional version. The mole was solid. The green was very good and spot on, the red wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad..just not something I would order again. The chicken on the green mole was overcooked and bland. The tortillas on the side were great! Nice and fresh and tasted just how I like them. Overall, this place is good. I didn't love the mole but it wasn't bad. Just not a place I would recommend to go and try mole. I think their other dishes were phenomenal though. I would come here again and order something different as they have numerous options.

The place is absolutely gorgeous, and the food had good flavor. Unfortunately, both mole and omelette were served cold. I mentioned it to our server, who took my omelette back, and about 20 minutes later it was returned reheated. Service was inconsistent. We must have been at the wrong table because we constantly had to ask for water and basic things instead of being proactively attended to. That said, I'd be open to giving it another try, because the space and the menu have a lot of potential and the experience should have been much better.

Had a nice time getting lunch here. Tried the tri mole, stuffed chile, and the Oaxacan plate. The moles were pretty interesting! Slightly sweet to really sweet for the dark one. Liked the stuffed peppers the most.

Quick service, yummy breakfast! Came here for lunch but unfortunately was here too early but the breakfast did not disappoint. The ambiance was quiet, and movement was slow due to time of day.

Fantastic service, ambiance and food! I'd give La Quince Letras quince stars if I could but cinco is the best I can do. The drink menu is top notch, try a Mezcal cocktail and you can't go wrong. Great wine list for those who opt for the smashed grapes! Guacamole is a small portion but simply delicious, with or without crickets. From the Lengnau mole to the salads and tacos, you can't go wrong. Our server was excellent and attentive. Get spoiled here, it's magical.

We were able to get a seat right away and the servers were super helpful. My friend wanted to try some mezcal and they let us taste a couple before choosing. We sat at the restaurant instead of the bar because it was cuter and I wanted food too. I tried two of their fruity mezcal drinks and loved both. I forget the names but one had watermelon, and the other had coconut and lime. I ordered cheese stuffed plantains with mole and this was soooo good. It was very filling too!

I thought it was funny when I got the menu and the food menu was only one page while the drink menu was five pages. The outside of the restaurant is blue-ish and the restaurant has multiple rooms. The ceviche del dia ($190 MXN) was a little sweet and not as tart or sour as others I've had. The tacos de sirloin ($170) were really good and were our group's favorite. The taquitos dorados de mole negro ($140) were okay; there was no meat just in case you were wondering. The aguachile rojo de camaron ($190) were good. The esquite con tuetano ($100) was not like a typical corn in a cup but it was closer to a corn soup. For drinks I had the pequeño gigante ($210) which was good. The paloma madura and paloma margarita were both favorites among our group. We went during the day and it wasn't that busy but supposedly it gets way busier and livelier at night.
