Hubby and I went here after reading the great reviews... well, those reviews were NOT GREAT ENOUGH!!!! The service was consistent and our glasses were never empty. Pocatello Wins with Cafe Tuscano... That's how the headlines should read... We paid a visit to this great new cafe on Saturday evening around 7pm...we walked in and sat right down. It has a nice warm atmosphere, small but new and comfortable. There is a restairant setup and then a pub/bar area as well. Since it was St Patrick's Day we sampled some special faire: Bangers n Mash--i give it 5 stars for the potatoes and 3 stars for the Banger sausage Greek Salad--5 stars for taste, size and the perfect quantity of kalamata olives, onions, goat cheese and mixed greens. Cheese Melange--God i wanted to take a bath and die in this stuff...its a delicious blend of cheeses served fondue style with a hearty sourdough. This gets my special 1,000,000 stars rating. Strawberry torte--tasty but nothing to write your mom about...3 stars Cabernet and Green Stella--limited selection of wines but the Cab was serviceable...3 stars. The best part part about the attitude here is that we used our Restaurant.com coupon. Our waitress was very helpful and was actually excited that we had used it. They were having great local success already and had done no other advertising than to engage this service so it was good to know that as appreciated. Highly recommended...the proprietor has had great success in Pocatello in the past with The Bistro so you can bet it will always be superb. read more

Not too busy on a Monday night, but was a bit disappointed that none of the staff were wearings masks. Ordered the SALTIMBOCCA and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice flavor and texture on the pork with a nugget of motz cupped in the middle. Gravy wasn't too salty with a good mushroom flavor. But the risotto was really good! It's been years since I've had a risotto that flavorful and rich. Good job! Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

I wanted some pasta and this place was right down the street from the hotel. I checked out the menu and called in a take out order and went with the spaghetti bolognese. You also have choice of salad or soup. I chose the chicken noodle soup. I walked into the place behind a couple. They were greeted by the girl who was doing something on the computer. The waiter then took them to be seated. I stood there and nothing. Another couple came in and were greeted. They were seated by the same waiter. WTF? Was it because I was wearing a mask and noone else was? Finally the waiter acknowledged that I was there. Geez. I told him I had a pick up. He put together my order. I went back to the hotel. I started with the soup. It had good flavor but the noodles were more like chunks of dough. Then to the main course. I was disappointed how it was packed. They use a paper type container and put a wax paper. It did not look appetizing at all. The paper was all greasy. Luckily when I ate it, it was very tasty. I think they should use the foil type containers so the juices don't start seeping through the paper container. They really should work on customer service. I'm a paying custome. read more

Try tip: don't try the tri-tip. Unless you like eating a leather shoe. Three strikes and you're out, three times at this restaurant and six different people same result, leather try tip. That's fine, don't order the tri-tip, but especially don't mention it to the waiter who either just walks away or talks to you like it's your fault. Nope, not just my perception, several others have said the same at different times different dates; same response. You guys need to get this fixed. Talk about an almond Road find! This place takes the cannoli! Service was excellent and we stayed on time jumping off the road and back on the highway fully fed within 45 minutes. Arrived with a group of 13 for a work dinner. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The server was okay. nothing bad or good about her besides missing some sides and telling us that we'd have to pay extra for them until she realized she missed them. I ordered the Halibut. it came out 5 minutes after everyone else's food and it was almost inedible. It was not prosciutto wrapped. there was a piece of dry prosciutto laid on top of it. the fish itself was dry on top and undercooked on the bottom. definitely not worth the $35 dollar price tag. The risotto was just okay. It was under seasoned and bland. the sautéed vegetables were disgusting. How did they end up with the broccoli and squash overcooked and the carrots basically raw? This was the second time I've eaten at Tuscano and I won't be back again. read more

I had crawfish's bisque and shrimp w:penne pasta. Soup was disappointing. Not much crawfish or anything else in the soup, kind of a cheese soup with a flour base. I was expecting more. The shrimp dish, just ok, probably should have asked for linguini pasta. I should have stuck to Lasagna or pizza. Server, fine, but did not have a reservations on a Friday night so did not get their nicer dining room, but. rather seated in bar area, again disappointing. My wife had prime rib soup and prime rib salad? But I'm both dishes, spice they cook prime rib too much of a bite to it to make both unpleasant. Hotel recommended it and got 10 percent off. This is by far THE BEST food in Pocatello! No restaurant here compares! We visited last night, a friend and I, by recommendation from my boss at work. We ordered the steak bruschetta which was perfect for our appetizer. Then I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and the portion was generous. The amount of meat in the sauce was perfect and the flavor was over the top!!! For salad dressing I chose the creamy italian and it did not disappoint. The waitress was friendly and upbeat and was quick and efficient. The prices are moderate to high but you get what you pay for. I have been disappointed constantly in this city by restaurants that are no better the prepackaged hospital type food that is microwaved, Cafe Tuscano is not like that at all and i would go back everyday if I could!!
