Cafe Turmeric has been on my list for a while after it coming up on my feed on Tik Tok and IG and I'm so glad I finally did! I tried out their new location in Canyon Country and wow, the bowl exceeded my expectations. Take it from a South Asian, it was GOOD. I got potato's in my bowl and that was such a nice subtle amazing flavor to my bowl! They pile the bowl with protein, and if you add a fresh crunch with cucumbers/onion and add on the mint chutney, tamarind chutney, and yogurt sauce, you are in for a treat! Customer service was also remarkable and you can easily make these bowls so healthy! Added plus is that they're halal and so cheap! My bowl was roughly only $11 (in this economy???) Will definitely be back! read more

I had heard about Cafe Turmeric through the Santa Clarita Foodies FB group, and since I love Indian food and recently happened to be driving through the area for a road trip a couple of weeks ago, I stopped here to grab some lunch. The menu is kind of divided in 2 - they have a bunch of prepared items, and then they have a "build your own" section where you can create custom bowls, burritos, tacos, salads...like Chipotle but better. I wish they were as available as Chipotle! I got the paneer bowl, and added turmeric rice (this was so good), potatoes, cauliflower, and a few other things - and when I asked for a sauce suggestion, went with the butter one. It was great, packed full of flavor. Will be back next time I'm in the area! read more

Cafe Turmeric - Paneer Bowl - Indian Near Me - Castaic, California

I've wanted to stop by since it opened up in the neighborhood recently. It has a clean interior and some cool authentic Indian furniture. They offer normal Indian meals, but they also do bowls, burritos and tacos Chipotle style, but of course with Indian cuisine. The boss is very kind. He explained everything, and also gave me some fresh garlic naan on the house. I got a heavy protein bowl with lamb and chicken. Personally, I enjoyed the chicken more, which was nicely tender. Their mango lassi is thick and not too sweet, and it paired perfectly with the food. Overall great experience. The food was clean and not greasy, service is good, and portions are decently big. I'll be coming back. read more

I DoorDash their rice bc I have leftover chicken at home I can eat when I get move mix it all together. The young gentleman helped me didn't take too long only a couple mins for my rice to be made and I asked for two sauces on top and he did it for me!!!!! My cravings was purely SATISFACTION. Customer service was amazing as always here!!!!!! Inside is also clean and easy to order. read more

I was looking forward trying out this fast casual version of Indian food. I visit Magic Mountain often. So it's nice to find local food places to enjoy. The staff was friendly, food was served quickly, and the place is spacious with plenty of room for seating. I get that the concept is "chipotle for Indian food" so I understand that the quality of the food may vary from a full service restaurant. So I took that into account. I got a loaded fry bowl. But I was going to eat it later so I got the fries and toppings separate to keep the fries from getting soggy. The first thing we noticed was that the fries were GOOD. They were some of the best fries that we've had. My husband and I joked that we would go back just to get that. However when it came to the chicken and masala sauce we weren't as impressed. The chicken was dark meat and it was a little chewy. The masala sauce was thinner than expected and it lacked flavor. The fries were hot and dropped fresh, but the chicken and masala sauce was cold. We also got some garlic naan and it tasted like it was just rewarmed with fresh herbs added. Again I get that the food needs to be served quickly. So that may affect the quality of the food. We may go back and give it another try because based on the other comments maybe we just for a bad batch? Edit to Add: As a response to the comment from the owner, I've been a Yelp Elite for years and I take that with pride so I know how to review things properly. I knew I wasn't going to eat the full meal right away which is why I ordered as I did. However when I got in my car I immediately tasted the fries and meat so that I could give an accurate review of when it was fresh. My personal experience still stands. I also got it with cheese and chutneys as suggested. There should be no difference with the flavor or the toppings because they weren't immediately put on top of fries. read more

Cafe Turmeric - I got a fry bowl but got the toppings seperately to keep the fries crispy. The fries were great! - Indian Near Me - Castaic, California

Cafe Turmeric was seriously impressive. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken tikka masala and butter were both rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The chicken masala with the spicy sauce was another standout and had a great amount of heat without overpowering the flavor. The garlic naan was easily one of the highlights. Fresh, warm, and perfect with all of the sauces. Really great food and a hidden gem in Castaic. Definitely will be coming back. read more

AMAZING!!! The food here is so flavorful. I ordered the Heavy protein bowl with added lamb, cucumber and cilantro. This is the perfect bowl for getting your protein in for your workouts! I also got their chicken and lamb coconut korma. Now this sauce is special! It's so creamy and the flavors or beautifully balanced! As soon as I took my first bite I paused and thought to myself, WOW!!! This is different, so amazing!!! I've had coconut curry which is one of my favorites, but the korma! OMG! It's on a whole other level to me! It's my new favorite! The turmeric rice is really great too! I had their garlic naan and the cheese garlic naan. I'm a huge fan of the cheese garlic. In general I'm a huge fan of garlic! Can't go wrong there! Yum! Now let me tell you about their chai tea! It is the best I've ever had. I've tried others and they never seemed to give me any wow factor. But theirs is sooooo good!!! It's a must to get! I ordered the chili shrimp and that too was so delicious! Not overwhelmingly spicy either, and perfectly crispy (even for a to-go order) it was perfect! I look forward to trying the other flavors too. Lastly the rice pudding, again perfect! Not too sweet, light yet flavorful! The restaurant is very clean and organized. The service is very friendly with a family feel. I promise you'll love this place! read more

went in this past Saturday as one of the first people through the door, and yes, it was chaotic, but the owner and his team handled the rush with poise and professionalism. Think of it as the "Cava" of Indian food, but better. The bowls come with chopped tandoori chicken that's fully deboned, so no fighting with bones. I also love that they offer both lamb and steak. The star of the show was the naan. All of it. I tried the plain, garlic, garlic onion, and cheese naan, and every single one was perfect: light, buttery, and fresh, with a flawless texture. None of that burnt naan you get too often elsewhere. It was the difference between a perfectly cooked French omelette and a burnt scramble. One tip for fellow diners: get the sauce on the side. Not because it isn't good (it's amazing), but because it will eat right through the recycled cardboard bowl. Pour it on fresh and enjoy every drop without sacrificing the structural integrity of your container. The restaurant has a really nice vibe and instagram worthy style despite its unassuming location. Worth a shot (or two). Verdict: 5 stars, no question. read more

The minute you walk into Cafe Turmeric in Castaic, you're immediately greeted by the warm, inviting aroma of flavorful Indian food, it's the kind of scent that makes you excited to order before you even see the menu. The concept is super approachable, similar to Chipotle or Blaze Pizza, where you build your own bowl by choosing your base (like rice), protein, and sides. What really sets this place apart, though, is the depth of flavor and the variety of options. Every component tastes thoughtfully prepared and authentically spiced, not watered down or overly simplified. You can tell there's a real focus on delivering true Indian flavors while still keeping the experience quick and convenient. Even though it just opened, it already feels like a standout spot, perfect for a quick lunch that doesn't sacrifice quality or taste. Definitely a must-save, and honestly worth the drive to Castaic. If you're looking for something fast, flavorful, and genuinely authentic, this place hits the mark. read more

Decided to check this place out on a whim, and i'm so glad I did! The place has build your own bowls similar to chipotle or cava, and the prices are pretty much the exact same too. I will say the portions are quite larger and the garlic naan was made to order! The girl making my bowl was super sweet and knowledgeable about the vegan options. Highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Fantastic spot! My brother wanted food before heading home after giving me a ride from getting my car serviced and he wanted to try this place after seeing it online. I'm amazed the people have no clue what decent Indian food may taste like. Sorry but I'll try and be reasonable. If you are expecting real Indian flavors you're in the wrong place. Salty bland formula food using cheap oils, no real fresh ingredients, at least none that I could discern and an overall poor food experience. Plenty of Paneer in the bowl though. read more

Great lunch order from Cafe Turmeric! We got two build-your-own bowls: one with mixed veggies, cabbage, cucumber, sautéed potato, chole, and butter korma sauce, and another with saag, cabbage, chole, rajmah, and paneer. Both were ready for pickup in just 15 minutes. Everything tasted fresh with great flavor, and the portions were generous without feeling overpriced (each bowl was $12.99). My wife and I both loved it and will definitely be ordering again. Wish I had a picture, but we cleaned our bowls before I thought to take one! read more

Only positive things to say. This reminds us of chipotle and cava type place but Indian food. It is not your heavy sit down Indian food most places serve. It tasted much lighter and very fresh. The prices were fantastic, again similar to those other restaurants. The place was spotless (granted they just opened) and the owner and staff were all so very friendly. read more

This is the spot I've been wanting for years! Fast, casual Indian food that lets you order in a way that's similar to Chipotle or Panda Express. First things first - we came here on opening weekend, so while there's room for improvement, we'll absolutely go back. The food was pretty good - I ordered a chicken bowl and appreciated that I didn't need to have it on a bed of rice, instead opting for cabbage. I had never put "toppings" like the ones offered on Indian food before, but was pleasantly surprised by the cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and cilantro. The cilantro sauce was also really good. The first thing I would love to see improvement on for the food is the naan. We ordered garlic naan, and had to wait a bit for it to be ready, which is usual for Indian restaurants and fine. However, this wasn't the fresh, pillowy type of naan that I love - instead it was rock hard and very stiff. Opening weekend, so maybe they haven't perfected this. Next thing I would love to see improvement for is their green chutney. I am a green chutney connoisseur- I put that stuff on everything! Unfortunately, this green chutney tasted very odd to me, almost as if it was old or store bought in a jar. For me, it was inedible. Lastly, customer service. The owner prepared our bowls while his daughter was checking out the woman in front of me. He felt very preoccupied with what she was doing, versus my ordering. I really wish he would have focused on one or the other. I wasn't in any type of rush, and since this is a new concept, I would have liked some suggestions of what to put in my bowl, what flavors might compliment each other. Again, this was opening weekend and I know there are kinks that are probably being worked out behind the scenes. I love this concept, and will absolutely be back. There was a woman who I overheard was trying Indian food for the very first time - and that's exactly why a place like this is so great! read more

The service is super friendly and the decor is super fun, but the 5 stars here are the price and the ability to customize your meal, we have a large family, and each member is particular about their food. It's a huge relief to go somewhere that has a build your bowl or burrito or what have you. Also, the lamb was super delicious and lots of veggie options for our vegetarian daughter. read more

My girlfriend spotted a new Indian spot in Castaic so we went to check it out. The owner greeted us as soon as we walked in and went above and beyond with his friendliness and service. You can order Chipotle-style, which is a rare find for quality Indian food, or go with traditional dishes. I asked the owner to just make my bowl the way he would make it for himself. I know that can be annoying to some, but he clearly had a lot of passion for his food and I trusted that whatever he put together would be good. It was. My girlfriend and I both really enjoyed the food, and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back. read more

Great place! We usually stop in Castaic when driving through LA to points north, and now we'll add this cafe to the routine. It's a clever concept to build your own bowl with a choice of proteins, sauces and toppings. I had the paneer veggie bowl with curry sauce on part and vindaloo on the rest, with cilantro yoghurt sauce and other toppings. The paneer and chickpeas were both delicious, as were sauces. My partner had a bowl with lamb and chicken and said the meats were not super tender but still tasty in the sauces. All the sauces we tried besides the vindaloo were mild in spice. Delicious mango lassi to drink. Most of all, we appreciated very friendly, quick, and helpful service! The Indian owner chatted with others in the room and had fluent Spanish, switching languages easily. Loved the cultural masala experience as well as good food. read more

Visited Cafe Turmeric for their opening on Saturday and had a great experience overall. The concept is similar to Chipotle, but with Indian-inspired flavors - you build your own bowl by choosing a base like rice, adding veggies, a protein, and your choice of sauce. I ordered the Veggie Protein Bowl with paneer and saag sauce, which was flavorful, fresh, and very satisfying. My husband chose the Protein Bowl with lamb and the vindaloo sauce, and he loved it. We were also impressed by the catering menu, which looked interesting and worth exploring for future events. The only downside was the wait time, which was longer than expected. Since it was opening weekend, that's understandable, and hopefully it improves as they get settled. Overall, the food quality and customizable concept made it worth the visit. A great spot if you're looking for a quick, customizable meal with bold Indian flavors. read more
