If you own a restaurant and you are short staffed i would say its your responsibility to get out there and help your staff, in the dining room, refilling the food or cooking in kitchen, or even just bringing the bill to all the tables. We only went up to get a plate twice, & both times there was a shortage of many of the items, no Samosas, no Chicken, no napkins, no forks. Namaste Spiceland comes close to the ones I saw and was totally unexpected. The online menu takes awhile to digest. It is conveniently divided into categories that make the varied and rich Indian cuisine manageable. I tend to prefer the food of Southern India and made my choices accordingly. However, all of the selections were a bit unusual and the flavors were different from any I remember. One word of caution: you may want to determine whether you like your food medium or hot. Everything we got was hot and so I had to temper some of it with the plain breads. Everything I sampled tasted good. Now I have a better idea of what to get the next time I come. Ordering online was a bit challenging, so we skipped that step this time. For example, there are combo meals available but they don't tell you what items you can choose or what automatically comes in them. This may be because their offerings change too frequently to update the website continually. It is easier to just go and order on the spot. It all went very quickly. There is plenty of parking, as you will see. When you walk in the place is bright, big, and clean. It has a fresh sense. The staff are variably busy or friendly, depending on what they are doing at the moment and how many people they are trying to serve. The portions are good and the prices are very reasonable. All the food you see in my pictures came to about $50.00. The biggest asset Namaste Spiceland has, in my opinion, is its deep inventory of authentic Indian foods, condiments, packaged goods, fresh takeout, and desserts. Nothing is left out. There was literally no heat added. Same happened with my girlfriend. She had asked for medium spice on her Tandoori Chicken dish and there was no heat. To be fair the Tandoori chicken was delicious. Very juicy and flavorful. The curry dish was relatively bland. (Again, any amount of heat may have made a difference). Mango lassis were again very good. The bhaji was drier than usual (usually it's a bit more liquid), but the flavor was good. There was also a strong taste of butter/ghee, more than what I'm used to, so it's definitely a very rich dish here, especially with the extra chunk of butter they serve on top. Too bad they only serve two pav by default, as at least 3, maybe 4, would've been good to go with the amount of bhaji provided. I only took a bite of the kathi roll, but it was a bit too sweet for me personally. However, my friend liked it and said that the paneer tasted very fresh and soft. The chicken tikka masala was pretty standard. Nothing to write home about. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavors here. It's not super close to where we live but we might come back to try some of the other chaat!
