Cafe Roka has always been amazing every time I have gone. I rant and rave about it to many of the people I work with. I finally got many of them to come in and enjoy dinner with me. We had a party of 13 and Iris was absolutely amazing. The food is always delicious. My party talked about how great the Half Duck, Fillet Mignon, Rack of Lamb, Lobster Ravioli, Salmon Flat Bread, and Gnocchi were. The Persephone is an elderflower and pomegranate specialty cocktail that makes an amazing starter cocktail, the Chardonnay paired very well with the Gnocchi. Going to the Cafe Roka is always a delight but they outdid themselves last night. A new item on the entre menu - falafel pie - is quite possibly one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. The first bite crated an explosion in my mouth of flavorful joy. My friend forgot (wink, wink) to save a bit of his steak for my dog who always expects a small bite of restaurant food when I go out, but it turns out that he liked the falafel as much as I did. read more

Opened in 1992 in the heart of historic downtown Bisbee, Chef Rod Kass has created something truly special: Local Fine Dining, Southern Arizona style. But this is not Sonoran food. It's New American with subtle hints of Mexican, and other Central and South American influences as well. Like Short Rib Ravioli with chimichurri or Empanadas with Poblano. And finishing touches like jalapeño shavings on smoked Trout Deviled Eggs or roasted corn relish with green chili. The menu changes often, but everything is absolutely delicious. The vibe is art-deco, classy, local and welcoming. Bar service is fantastic. Conversation is lively and fun. There are locals and tourists here. Been wanting to try this place for a couple of years. During summer, it's only open Friday and Saturday nights. Don't recall this place being open for lunch. We had two glasses of tempranillo, a filet, and the duck. All were prepared well with great flavors. We took choco flan, Nutella cheesecake, and tree nut caramel to go. The only downside to this place was the service. Took them 15 minutes before a server approached us. The decor was nice but it was a bit warmer on the second level. I make it a point to eat here whenever I visit my Mom in Southern Arizona. My fourth visit did not disappoint. Strangely, all four diners had the special this trip. Sea Bass with risotto and summer veg. It was perfection. As my step father stated, so much flavor on the plate! Perfectly cooked and delicious sea bass, roasted corn risotto. For me it is hard to turn down Chilean sea bass when offered, but had it not been the special it would have been a difficult decision as the rest of the menu looked amazing! I should mention that the sauces with breads/spreads small plate were fresh and also delicious. Service and ambiance were top notch! Highly recommend it. read more

When my husband called to see if we might be able to get in the hostess or whoever answered the phone was really rude. Fantastic experience, with just a few minor disappointments. Love the atmosphere! It's hopping, the place just makes you feel connected. It's busy and bustling, there is a lot of art on the walls to look at, a bar placed right in the middle of the restaurant. There's an upstairs balcony with cute little lamps (I wish we could have sat up there, maybe next time). We arrived about 20 minutes early, and were told to come back at the exact time, we came back 5 minutes early, and waited on the outside bench, then were brought in. I was disappointed that the Roka Red was no longer available, I offered another wine for $12.00 the glass that was just ok. We ordered the appetizer sampler plate with medjool dates, artichoke hearts in prosciutto, and piquillo peppers, the piquillo peppers were fantastic, but the rest, I could have left. Salads were nice, I like the pickle on it - different touch , fresh and delicious! We waited a bit for our main, but were checked on and let know that it was coming, and given a palate cleanser - nice touch! My husband was annoyed that the waitress asked him to hold onto his fork after his appetizer, so he would be eating the rest of his food with a dirty fork? He asked the girl that filled out water for a new one, and she brought a dirty fork, he let her know and she admitted that she got it out of the wrong bin! Eek! Our main were very good. I enjoyed my lasagna, but have had better lasagna, my husbands sea bass was delicious, it came with lobster ravioli that was also divine! We passed on desert as nothing quite struck me for dessert. We did get to go boxes, and was so disappointed that we didn't get out to-go's in the cute little animal shapes that I see everyone on Yelp and Instagram with, nope we got a box. Yoni the bartender has an attitude problem. ordered a margarita before my meal came. by the time we finished our meals, still no drink. i kindly asked him for another margarita thinking he may have forgot. i didnt even say, hey you forgot, i just reordered. he raises his voice & whips his hand around his head saying he makes drinks for the whole restaurant & that im in rotation. .....i know how it works lol didnt need you announce it to the whole restaurant trying to embarrass me. then with dessert, i ordered an espresso martini for myself & a shot of espresso for my mom. comes back with 2 martinis. when she said she wanted just the regular espresso shot because she doesnt drink much, he was clearly not happy & asked if i wanted 2. made for a hostile environment. they forgot our sorbet & there were a couple ants on the bar. other than that, the food is worth it & id go back which is why i still gave this place a 4 star. read more

The whole experience and environment of this place is absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was so sweet and kind, the best service I had from when I walked in the door to when I left. The fillet mignon was to die for and melted in my mouth. The only complaint I really have if I'm being super picky, the spread on the flat bread was a little too salty. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time but never managed to get a reservation when visiting Bisbee. The menu is very creative, and they did have one fully vegan option "coconut glazed corn cakes on a bed of mushrooms". The corn cakes were amazing and packed full of flavor. The sea bass was also very good but the corn cakes were much better in my opinion. As an appetizer we got bread and dips. All of the dips had amazing flavor and also showed up in the entrees! Overall it is one of the best restaurants in Bisbee and must stop for foodies. read more

We ate dinner at Roka last night for a birthday dinner. Our waitress, Julie, made our entire dining experience a pleasure. From being seated to our dessert, Julie took excellent care of us, with attentive exceptional service. Several of us ordered the local Roka red wine recommended by Julie, along with the appetizer sampler, bread plate and stuffed peppers. Savory, tasty, divine delectable bites! We ordered lasagne, salmon salad, the tenderloin special and crab cakes all of which were delicious, served hot and fresh with appealing plating. Every dish had an exceptional variety of tastes and flavors. Our server, Julie, brought us a complementary birthday dessert, which was also delicious; chocolate torte cake, and a white raspberry cake. In Bisbee on a little getaway with my boyfriend... stumbled upon this gem! We had such a wonderful dining experience. Started our meal with an order of the peppers and an ordernof the artichokes. Our appetizers were delicious. Moved on to a simple salad and a gelato to cleanse the palette. Then came our main dishes.. his was the lobster stuffed raviolli, mine was the mushroom and artichoke lasagna. Followed with our desserts, a creme brulle and a slice of Nutella cheesecake. The veggie lasagna was horrid. It looked like someone vomited on top. There were fresh greens inside(from the aforementioned bag o salad) which had me questioning how much the entree had been cooked. Extraordinary does not adequately describe it. The atmosphere is exactly what I had hoped. It was historic and cozy. The wait staff and service were on point. We had the trio appatizer. They were all rediculously good. Out of the three, the dates were the best, followed by the peppers then the artichokes. You had to twist my arm to put them in order. We both had specials. She had a searfood dish including sea bass, shrimp and lobster ravioli. I had the filet with white chedder mashes and vegetable medley. This place was recommended by a foodie who has dined world wide at notable restaurants. She said this is up there with anything she has had. She was right. This is a top 10 dining experience for me when you combine atmosphere, service and food. You can't go wrong. read more

Came here with a friend for a little mom date night. The ambiance is so cute and romantic, it's the perfect date night restaurant. We were seated on the second floor with a perfect view overlooking the first floor. I'm pretty sure I tried a little bit of everything! I ordered the muscles and they were absolutely delicious with crusty baguette on top. My friends ravioli was unique and savory. We ate there recently for the maybe 20th time and it was better then ever! I'm from the Bay Area and food is my passion. Cafe Roka can hold its own in every way with big city restaurants plus it has a special small town charm! The entree Include both meat, seafood and vegetarian choices. Service is warm, friendly and professional. The craft cocktails are world class and at least as good less expensive then San Fransisco. I'm going back again tonight. I wouldn't call this an Italian restaurant, definitely fine dining, New American maybe. Sadly my friend had trouble finding much selection of gluten free entrees. read more

We go to Cafe Roma to celebrate special occasions and every once in a while just to celebrate nothing in particular! The ambience is romantic and very stylish. The food has always been first rate. Reservations are usually needed. Lots of locals, like us, come here. The entrees come with salad and are good sized but last time we had the Beet and Brussel Sprout Salad as an appetizer. Then we shared the lobster and crab cakes as a second course, next had our salads and then split the Vegan strudel. Everything was especially delish! I sometimes have their incredible Steak special but my partner never eats mammals. read more

Spot of sorbet to "cleanse the pallet" was a nice start. I had the Spicy Italian Saugage and Penne and it was superb. Served hot, just spicy enough but not too spicy. You will not believe the amount of sausage in the dish. The sauce was excellent. Wife had the Gnocchi and she thought it was excellent. Serving sizes are more than you can eat in one sitting. Service was a little slow but they apologized and comped us our drinks (1 wine and 1 beer). Noise was low enough that conversation was easy. If I'm ever back in Bisbee, I will visit Roka again. read more
