Travis led us on one of the best city tours I have ever taken. He picked us up promptly in his extremely clean and new model Jeep and from the start was ready to make us comfortable and help us have a memorable trip. As many others have noted he was born and raised in Bisbee and his personal touches to the tour added humor and heart. He was as welcoming to LaLa as he was to us. He encouraged our comfort and made sure we had ample time to take pics and he encouraged our questions and curiosity. After taking this tour the one thing I HIGHLY recommend is to start your trip to Bisbee with a tour with Travis. He will give you so much insight that help you discover things you would have missed that you want to explore more after the tour and covers so much more ground than you could do on your own in the same time. You will be bummed if you do this too late on your trip. We took the two hour tour through Bisbee and got to see the cool local art installations throughout the town. We learned about the history of the town, history of the mining industry and explored the architecture. Artists flock to this city and it will not be difficult to learn why once you have taken this tour. You will have a great time and fall in love with Bisbee with Travis as your guide!

He drove us all over town and told us about every aspect of how Bisbee has grown and changed over the years, all about the town's mining history, gave us anecdotes about many of the building and residences, explained the various architectural styles of some of the most beautiful buildings, and because we have an interest in the paranormal, gave us some ghostly history too. Happened to walk by the limo parked in Bisbee and went for about an hour ride. The driver (who's…read morename I didn't catch) was knowledgeable about the town, and very nice, personable, and funny. He stopped at circle k so we could grab some adult beverages - and rolled out the red carpet for us. As in - he literally had a red carpet that he'd put down as we entered and exited the limo at the 4 or so stops we made around the town. A great way to spend an hour, and very reasonably priced.

The entire area is peaceful, quiet and a perfect location for day trips to Bisbee, Douglas (the Gadsen Hotel and Sheriff John Slaughter Ranch are NOT to be missed), Tombstone, even up to Wilcox to the Rex Allen museum, over to the Kartchner Caverns, Fort Mojave museums and just exploring all the historic backroads and byways of this wonderful part of SE Arizona. He was very friendly and asked what types of things we enjoy doing and then tailored all his suggestions to us specifically. He is amazing at his job. He also made sure to tell me dogs were welcome when he saw my husband standing outside with our pup so we were all able to look around together and enjoy the center. Based on his recommendations, we decided to spend the night so we could visit an attraction that didn't open until the following day. He also told us about the beautiful murals in the area so we made it a point to visit some and we met the nicest people here in Douglas. Everyone we encountered was warm and welcoming and friendly. The center is small but lovely, with a stained glass rotunda and murals and most importantly lots of information!. In addition to being pet friendly there are also clean restrooms outside. This should absolutely be your first stop when visiting the town of Douglas.

I was surprised to see they had a visitor center as this isn't really a tourist place where I thought there were a lot of places to go and things to see. But I was wrong. Rene at the Douglas Visitor Center gave us a great history of Douglas and Cochise County. He highlighted a map that led us to the most interesting places to see and do, which was mostly downtown and included the Gadsden Hotel. What a photo op. Anyway, just wanted to give a Kudos to the Douglas Visitors Center. Rene was very helpful and they have a lot of information of the area there. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a separate sitting room and a large bathroom. The lady who took care of us in the café was exceptionally kind, and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Warner Hotel to anyone spending the night in Bisbee. Our only caveat is that the parking area is not clearly marked, and it took us a couple of trips around the block before we found it. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience!
