Paella de La Casa...very good, left had Filete de Pescado a La Gallega...good, but best was the plain old chicken on my right

I love the people who served us, the authenticity of the room, they have best chorizo I've had in the last 5 years and maybe ever....and the red sangria was excellent. I went with my dad, his girlfriend, my wife and 3 teens, 2 of whom were very hungry and the food took an hour to come to the table...so not so good on that front! Still, the were nice, it was authentic and the place has been around, so i gave a 4 instead of 3 to give them the benefit of the doubt... I may revise if I have that experience again. For starters, we had patatas bravas, which I found awkward with a tomato onion that didnt blend well with the potatoes, the aforementioned chorizo, the shrimp al ajillo, which is very good but could have been a bit more garlicky sharp and the tortilla, which was not as onion intense and dense as I love, but may have been healthier and was certainly lighter than what I like...I frankly might find myself craving it sometime soon.... I had Paella de La Casa and it was very good. For my wife, to the left in the pic, she had Filete de Pescado a La Gallega and it was light eggy lemony and good. But the big winner was the plain old chicken on my right. The Arroz Con Pollo was a total disaster for us. I didn't love the Ternera a La Plancha and didn't like the Ternera a La Gallega but if I return, because the staff was lovely, and the place is so intimate and warm, and clean, I may try the ternerà sandwich for lunch...and may wait yo bring friends who lived in Spain...

    Bread Croquets SANGRIA House salads

Saturday, February 21, 2026 @ 3:30ish, Birthday Dinner for 4. The staff was amazing and super friendly and courteous. We were able to sit toward the back where it was bright and spacious as one of us had a walker. Sangria was nice but, needed a bit more zip( but this was made the traditional way). Coffee was made fresh to order and was delicious* 3 cups for me* Bread was warm and butter was soft and spreadable( a big plus) We ordered 2 orders of the croquet and requested 2 of each ham, chicken, spinach and codfish. I was eating vegetarian so only had the spinach which were fresh with crispy outside and creamy inside. Sardine dish was 2 nice size fish and grilled to perfection. Anchovies dish was in a nice vinegarette. Steak and Fries.. lightly seasoned with s & p cook as ordered. It was tender and done right French fries were seasoned well. Crispy outside and soft on the inside. House Special Paella comes with tones of topping and was plated tableside. Vegetable Paella was surprisingly flavorful and had a nice selclection of vegetable. Also salted tableside. Black beans with cheese which i spooned over the vegetable paella. Birthday desserts are a must have... Flan super fresh and creamy Chocolate cake was fresh and oh so good. Almond Torte was also amazing. If you gat a fork full of the chocolate cake and almond torte in the same bite you will swear you are eating a Mounds bar. We never felt rushed but, they were very attentive without interrupting our celebratory mood. The music played throughout our meal was really nuce so we were swaying and singing along. Please stop in and enjoy some yummy tapas and really good spanish food and drinks.

Fantastic old school style Spanish spot with flavorful sauces, rice, and quality meats. Went for lunch and found a great deal with salad and bread included in the entree price and a decent pitcher of red sangria to share for two as well. The Galacian cuisine includes the surprise of veal that isn't usually found on Spanish menus, but you can also find a traditional seafood paella. Service felt like we were dining at small town family spot with everyone in the restaurant working together and communicating with care. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!

I miss all the different Spanish restaraunts that used to dot the área, so this was a welcome find. I enjoyed the caldo gallego and croquetas de bacalao. I have to return for a heavier meal. Service was nice also.

This place is small, cozy and beautiful. I have visited this restaurant in the past, 2018 and havent been back since. I have been dying to come back because my first visit was amazing. The restaurant has outdoor seating available right now. They have a bright red awning in front so it really stands out. The outside has a bright red gate. The Spain flag is hanging. It's on the lower level of like a brown stone type building so you do have to walk down a few a steps, not too many. The restaurant looks exactly the same as my last visit. Bar to the left which has a wall dividing the seating area. To the right there's multiple squared tables. Smaller tables towards the front, bigger tables towards the back. The tables had a vase and flower in the center. The brick walls and concrete ceiling add such a unique touch to the restaurant. I ordered from the lunch section of the menu. The prices are reasonable especially with the ridiculous food costs lately. I ordered the bistec with boiled potato. The lunch items come with a house salad that is already seasoned with vinegar, oil, salt. I asked for the steak to be cooked to medium temp. It was perfectly cooked and came with a ton of onions on top. The potato is simply boiled. I think both the potato and steak could of used more salt BUT it was so good and i ate it without asking for salt. The service was 2 on 1. It was perfect. My friend and i were the only two people in the restaurant. The waiter was friendly, quick and attentive. I cannot wait to be back. Maybe next time I'll try a different item.

This spot recommended by Sarah Jessica Parker is a hidden gem! Cant speak highly enough about the service!! 10/10. Very warm and welcoming. The house made Red Sangria was beyond delicious! We ended up getting the pitcher. Great menu selection, generous portions and everything was well cooked and fresh This has to be a part of my fav list and I am definitely coming back

A solid four-star place. Such delicious white sangria, some outdoor seating for a breezy summer night, and pretty good garlic bread/tomato appetizer and seafood and meat paella. The yellow rice, lobster and chicken in it was delicious, while the shrimp had a fishy taste to it. Would come back for a different tapa and that sangria.

Amazing place: small, family friendly and cozy. We came with family and spent great time in Spanish atmosphere. Great service, everything was very delicious. Definitely recommended!

We tried a variety of dishes and each one was a hit (from the croquettes to the octopus to the paella). One member of our group doesn't usually like seafood and thought the octopus was delicious! The drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) were also yummy. The staff were super accommodating as well which I really appreciated!! Of note, the restaurant bar stays open longer than the kitchen so make sure you check in with them on when the kitchen closes (it was around 10 when we went but things were still in flux so that may change!)

I was at this location of this Basque and Spanish restaurant a while ago with a group, with their…read moreoriginal location being in Harlem. The table we sat at was quite large, and I think it could have fit a few more people. The staff was friendly, and the lighting wasn't too dark, nor was it too loud. While I liked the atmosphere, I found the food, or rather specifically the tapas, to be not good at best, while the main dishes were better but also ranged in quality. The fact that the tapas we ordered were pretty closely priced to the mains means I would recommend the mains only based on portion and taste alone. To drink, a bunch of us split a bottle of wine from their large and pretty reasonably priced selection. The first tapas that arrived was something that I could not eat. This was the Pulpo Zarautz for $32, listed as octopus with garlic and merken seasoning served over mashed baby potatoes. The dish was small, and people thought it was OK as they found the pieces of octopus a tad chewy. They liked the spices but were surprised that the potatoes were a bit cool. The $24 Gambas Al Ajillo, with slow-cooked prawns, white wine, EVOO, garlic, and mermen, was alright. There was a handful of shrimp, and they were decently cooked, but the "ajillo," or rather, the garlic, was very light. Therefore, I found it a bit bland, which is almost never the case for this dish. I wouldn't recommend this based on price and flavor. Last and least of the tapas was the $22 Tortilla De Patatas, listed simply as a Spanish omelette. There was an option to add chorizo for $2 more, which we did. Along with the omelette, this also arrived with a few sauces and some pieces of crunchy bread, which were the highlight, as the omelette wasn't good either. The texture of the omelette was very different than any other Spanish omelette I've ever had. It was quite soft with a bit of chew, with a mild chorizo flavor. Along with the greenish color, it wasn't exactly appetizing. I wouldn't recommend this at all, but thankfully, that was the last tapas we ordered. My favorite of the main dishes was the Solomillo & Pebre for $28, listed as skirt steak topped with parsley and olive oil, with hand-cut fried potato and salad. While not the most tender, as it is a skirt steak, it was still well-flavored with the topping almost reminding me, to an extent, of a less oily version of chimichurri. The potatoes had a unique texture, being slightly crispy on the outside while remaining slightly soft in the middle. The salad on the side, which also arrived with one of our other mains, was a tasty mix and certainly more effort than a typical salad you find in many of these places. We also liked the $32 Costillas De Cerdito, with pork ribs in beer, mustard, and rosemary with hand-cut fried potato and salad. The pork ribs were flavorful, though I did find a bit of it to be a bit fatty, but some of that is expected with pork ribs. The mildly sweet and slightly rich sauce paired with the pork ribs. The same comments from before can be made about the potatoes and salad. Last was the OK Paella De Mariscos for $38, listed as rice cooked with shrimp, mussels, clams, prawns, and fresh saffron. The portion size was good, with a lot of mussels and clams in particular, and a handful of shrimp. Of the bite I had of the two large prawns, they were plump and juicy as well. However, the rice was both a bit bland and a tad mushy and felt a bit overcooked compared to many other paellas. There was some socarrat on the bottom as per usual, which was the best part. It's a bit difficult to rate this place. The spices, textures, and flavors were lacking from the overpriced tapas, and I honestly wouldn't recommend any of them. For the main dishes, they were tasty, but you can get a better-cooked skirt steak at many other places for a similar price. The ribs were decent, and the paella was just OK. If we only had the tapas, I probably would be giving this place a 1, but for the whole meal, an upper 2, rounded up.

There were two-three fairly larger hunkers which we had to cut up but otherwise flavor was nice. Next came the top sirloin cooked to medium with a bed of roasted carrot purée and a salsa sauce. The sirloin was seasoned nicely and cooked to perfection- very tender! By far my favorite dish! The calamari was a bit of a disappointment. It was fried too crispy and lost the calamari taste.
