Quaint environment.

My wife and I went to Cafe Rae this morning for breakfast. We had been there once before and really enjoyed it. This morning was another great visit. I had an omelette with tomatoes, feta cheese and pesto sauce. I also ordered a single pancake on the side, just to check out how good their pancakes are. My wife got an omelette with mushrooms and other veggies. Both omelettes were huge and delicious! They came with thickly sliced bread (we selected rye) which was also very good , and impressive. Speaking of impressive, the pancake was huge! It filled the entire plate! It was also light and delicious - the kind of pancake where you don't even need syrup, because it had a slight sweetness. The menu prices seemed high, but I will probably get three meals out of the food I ordered. Our service was ok - not bad, but nothing special. The restaurant is small and very quaint, a nice change of pace from the many sterile looking breakfast places around. Cafe Rae is now my favorite breakfast spot in San Clemente!

If you want a lot of food for accessible price this is the place to go. I could not even eat 1/2 of my mexi cali breakfast bowl $14 and hubby got eggs and bacon ... so there is more than the menu so ask because I discovered that after I ordered from the main menu. Would have been nice to know but I will next time ... got here around 10 am and we were the only ones when we left place was packed.

Chicken Pesto sandwich with green Taste good !!!!!

Chicken pesto sandwich with green. All foods are good. I really recommend the restaurant.

First time here, loved the hippie vibe inside and the comfortable feel. It's not big, but there's quite a few seats and good for small families. They keep the door open which is nice, good air flow since there's no outdoor seating. Waitress was exceptional, so nice even though the poor thing was waiting on several tables with people coming in. Food is super tasty, I had the omelette and it was really good, one star off because I wish it came with potatoes...most breakfast places have an option of potatoes either hash-browns or roasted with your omelette and egg dishes. Would have rounded it out a bit better. Husbands breakfast bowl was okay, not as good as he hoped for, a little underwhelming for the price, he said he wished he got the omelette so next time, but other than that, experience was good and we'll be back for sure.

Just moved in to the city of San Clemente from the famous and chaotic "city of Los Angeles " and found this cafe very close from where I live now. This is my spot , I would definitely come for breakfast whenever I get a chance .! Food was soo good I had the Eggs florentine . Coffee was perfect . Staff was very polite and efficient, (they could smile more ") I def recommend this place . Atmosphere is great the tables by the window are popular so good luck on your visit .

Peach Coconut Almond Slices Pancake with Turkey bacon

Cutest brunch spot EVER!! We randomly stumbled into this colorful little gem and I'm already planning my next visit. The vibe is so fun -- bright walls, tons of plants everywhere, and even a bubble machine floating through the air (yes, bubbles!!). Total serotonin boost The food? Incredible. We had the pancakes (peach + coconut) (Obsessed), turkey bacon, omelets, and coffee -- everything was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The portions were generous and beautifully plated too. What really blew me away was the chef coming out to check on every table. He even explained how to reheat the pancakes to make them a dessert later -- which we totally did and it slapped. That kind of care and connection is rare these days. Such a feel-good, delicious experience from start to finish. 10/10 recommend if you love a quirky, wholesome spot with seriously amazing food!

Cafe Rae!!! I can't say good enough things about the food and service. The most friendly, kind waiter and neat environment. We had the amazing stuffed French toast and the brisket burrito, when I say it was the best breakfast we've ever had I'm not kidding. I can't wait to go back!

Service was excellent friendly staff. The food was delicious, my friend and I shared the mushroom, spinach and cheese omelet with a side of potatoes and 1 peach pancake. I didn't take a picture (sorry). It was all very delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely a very laid back vibe!

Frenchies Cafe - Egg, bacon and cheddar crepe

Wonderful French crepe cafe…read more The Mushroom and Spinach crepe, add bacon, was excellent. They essentially make a French folded omelette and then wrap a crepe around it and top it off with Bechamel sauce (kind of like Alfredo for those who don't know). Even though the menu doesn't mention the sauce, it comes with it. The Nutella Banana crepe was amazing with a generous amount of Nutella inside. Instead of having the chocolate drizzle on top, I wonder if they can do Nutella drizzle on top, in addition to the Nutella that's inside already. I highly recommend paying for the extra berries on top to keep it interesting. The side of nicely seasoned breakfast potatoes rounded out the meal. Be sure to ask for a side of ketchup! Outdoor seating with great service and successful ambience right at the oceanfront in the most happening part of town, right by the San Clemente Pier.

We couldn't bring Cako on the pier, so we looked at what was available. I did see Bear Coast coffee which I wanted to stop into. Walking down the street, there were these cool blue umbrellas that sort of reminded me of the French Riviera that you see in the movies...LOL! The menu was simple so we decided to stop, plus we needed outdoor seating for Cako. The young woman who was working was friendly and upbeat! Told us to grab whichever table we wanted. Even brought out water for Cako. I ordered the Frenchies sandwich, ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone and pesto! Very good! Scooter had the Jambon and fromage, which he said was perfect! Both sandwiches came with these seasoned crispy potatoes. The menu was small. But I'm sure they'll offer more. Would've tried the crepes but that will have to wait until next time, Again, the service was great! The young woman came out and checked on us and refilled our iced teas. Great afternoon to enjoy lunch and watch people. Cako Approves!

Instead, I was out here questioning climate patterns with my dog on the patio. First things first: no iced coffee. None. But. The cold brew? Mild. Non-offensive. Surprisingly nutty (in a good way, *wink wink*). It didn't punch me in the throat with acidity, which I appreciate as someone who wants caffeine, not hostile combat. It's the kind of cold brew that says, "I'm stable. I've been to therapy. I am no longer bitter." Service was friendly and easygoing. No weird vibes. No barista existential dread projected onto me. Just solid, pleasant human interaction. 10/10 for that. Now. The patio. Love that it's dog-friendly. My pup was living her best life, greeting kind patrons. I, however, was trying to pretend I was a productive academic gremlin (with *aesthics*), and the WiFi was... aspirational. Let's just say it builds character. Great for touching grass. Not great for uploading Zoom sessions. (this was on the patio tho, indoors, it might slap harder than.. a correctly timed bass drop) Overall: great little spot. A few things to improve (please give me iced coffee and slightly stronger patio WiFi), but it doesn't detract from the experience or the coffee itself. I'd go back -- especially with my pup -- just maybe not expecting to run a Zoom seminar from the patio. 4 out of 5 caffeinated imposter adults.

Now for the food... it was so fresh and delicious. I loved how there was just a glass water bottle on the table so you could serve your self. The subtle flavors of each dish allowed the ingredients to shine. So I had fresh-baked pastries that weren't too sweet (and some were even gluten-free!), a unique salad brassica and grains, a tasty tostada named Huevos Campesino Peace Bean Tostada, and a simple farm fruit and granola bowl. The whole experience was delightful and as they have a seasonal menu, I can't wait to go back and try new things. After lunch, I walked around to see people working on the farm, a Peace Dome where I've read they have events, retired chickens Luna and Henny Penny, and of course the farm stand.

The staff were very attentive, courteous, professional, and inviting, which I appreciated since good food tastes better when it's presented by nice people. The vibe was almost cult-like in the sense that there were a lot of people there that seemed like they're always there and the establishment is a big part of their daily lives.
