Girl friend got Carmel vanilla latte with was 5/5, however I ordered Thai ice tea with boba, for my fellow boba lovers I wanted to make sure they know. Thai ice tea had too much half and half and there was no boba straws. So they get marked down two stars. Customer service was good. read more

I really want to like this place. Cool location. So bright. Cool during the summer. Good coffee and food. Decent service. Reliable wifi. The chairs are on the uncomfortable side, but that's just me nitpicking. The only reason I'm a bit down on this place is the number of flies and other insects in here (I'm here right now). Looking right in front of me, there are two flies. And, I've had a little gnat pester me for half an hour. This happened to me here last time. I thought it was only because I had set up close to the trash cans and dirty dishes. But, I was wrong. Owners and workers: please keep this place clean! surprisingly good drinks and pastries, however it is a little big awkward being in there when there is nobody inside. I used the restroom and it was really dark and had a bad stench... Since it is across the street from Starbucks I would recommend Starbucks more than cafe noto. The staff are very welcoming and they try to make it homey feeling but it's just not quite there yet. read more

Tried this place back when I first moved to Windsor, late 2011/early 2012. At that time I was totally unimpressed with the staff, and so gave up after a couple of visits. Over the past year I've been in quite a few times and am always served by the same woman on weekday afternoons. She has been friendly and my order has been served quickly, a real plus when I'm usually out with my two toddlers. I much prefer to support a local business than the chain coffee shops. My main suggestion would be to add more organic or "clean ingredient" pastries and sandwiches. Since organic coffee is advertised, it seems like it would be an additional draw. I know I'd love to pick up something for my little guys to snack on that I was totally pleased with the ingredients! read more

I almost didn't come here after reading some of the negative reviews but glad I did give it a try. I expected a dark, dingy place but it was the opposite. Yes the couches have toss over type covers and will get messed up just sitting on them no doubt but not something to dwell over. A nice quite place in the morning, great for weekends when no school. The donuts are better than the "store bought" donuts. It is cozy with couches, warm lights, and in the summer- homemade lemonade. All of the food is homemade, great breakfast sandwiches, their cheese is not the American cheddar, so, it is a legit café. The people are nice and seem like good people! read more

Coffee here is alright. Nothing to write home about but certainly not bad. Atmosphere is pretty good, not bad for getting some work done but perhaps too open if your really trying to cram. Staff was kind of off-putting. Perhaps they simply have to warm up to you, but they didn't seem particularly friendly, not rude either so I can't really complain all that much. read more

I have to give only 3 stars, I think they could try a little harder with Starbucks right down the street. I prefer to shop locally. Prices were good, the iced coffee I ordered was tasty but on the weaker side and only 1 person preparing drinks on a Saturday morning, I went back to Cafe Noto over the weekend and the service was quicker. Just tried this neat little Cafe on Windsor Green because the chain coffee shop that used to be down the street moved. Glad we did. Wonderful organic coffees. We had Quiche and breakfast burritos. Both were high quality, tasty, ample portions, and actually made on site by the owner. This place is owned and staffed by real friendly local folks who obviously like what they are doing and care about the customer. read more

I too read the article in the Bohemian, expecting a specialty coffee house with single-origin coffees prepared one customer at a time. What I experienced was just another coffee house. I went just before noon on a weekday and asked what they had in single-origin coffee. I was expecting choices of beans that the barista would grind and turn into a wonderful coffee experience. What I got was a paper cup full of pre-brewed coffee. That's fine, if that's the kind of place you want to run. And I tossed half the coffee, as did my friend, who bought a latte. Very disappointing. Was expecting a local experience that would put Starbucks to shame. What I got was Denny's...without the pancakes. Follow-up: tried again, hoping the first experience was a bad day. Three of us in line on a late Sat. a.m. 1 person taking drink and food orders, 1 person making espresso drinks. Person taking orders finished with the customer in front of me, then disappeared into the kitchen in back. Didn't see her again. I finally left. read more

I wanted this place to be good but I felt it was lacking. There was only one person helping about 20 people in line on a Sunday morning. Many people left and ended up going to Starbucks because of the service. The food was mediocre as was the coffee. I did like that the coffee was at least organic and the cute patio area outside. I wanted to like this place. I live in Windsor and like having a local coffee shop, rather than all the big box coffee, however time and time again the staff is very unfriendly and disagreeable. They are not very well organized to deal with the rushes and groups that show up time to time. I find myself going to Pete's only because of the friendlier staff and service, it's a pity. I love the food and coffee here and I have been a customer for a long long time but today was the LAST time I will ever go. They have a loaf of bread there that makes amazing French toast and my daughter absolutely loves it and it normally cost 7.50- 8.50 with taxes but the lady there today charge my daughter 20$ for a loaf missing a good portion off the ends! When I called to talk to a manager she was rude and keep denying the old price stating " we never sold it buy the loaf" and " I've been here a long time I have never seen that". So because of her salty attitude and the fact that she went straight to arguing with me instead of trying to at least work something out or try to explain the situation or the reason for the increase in price to 20$ ( for a small loaf ) I will never EVER go back and neither will my daughter or friends and family that know that they use to sell it like that. They lost a lot of business do to their managers actions, and attuidue today she was rude and I am appalled at how awful their business practices have gotten, and how sh*tty the people they hired are. read more

Say "NO" to this place. According to The Bohemian - Cafe Noto in Windsor does something very similar called a Brew Bar. Just like Local 123, they offer options of single-origin coffees as well as blends, which they brew through unbleached paper filters upon order. Reality = Not at All. I went there yesterday (SAT.) around 2pm, I asked for information about the coffees there, answer = what do you want? Well tell me about your special coffee brews and how it goes, answer = oh we stop selling those at noon, not enough demand, have to pour the coffee out. (pour out single serve???? I didnt bother going there). I ask well, what do you have, answer= what do you want, we have lattes espresso americano....(I want single serve fresh brewed coffee but don't go there) and settle for an AMERICANO. I get it, pay, and go across the street by the "GREEN", sit at a bench, take one sip, scatter the rest over the "GREEN'!! UGH, the worst coffee/americano whatever it was I have ever tasted except for 10 hour old messdeck coffee on a Navy Aircraft Carrier!!! Must have been strained through a recently used dirty gym sock... 1) I'll never go back there. 2) I'll recommend as often as possible to not go there to anyone I meet. read more

I don't have a problem with Starbucks but they opened pretty much across the street from this wonderful coffee shop. This places makes great a latte by a skilled barista that even includes foam art. This place also uses organic coffee which is a plus. read more
