Unfortunately the calamari arrived before the martini, and mixing espresso and squid is definitely not a good combo. The martini was extremely bitter, but there's a handful of reasons why that would occur. I would have said something but the service was few and far between. The staff didn't offer any water, which was surprising since the table next to me was brought some without asking. Perhaps I was meant to ask, despite there being a water glass set in front of me. Eventually the water arrived halfway through the main meal. I wasn't told that there were specials on the menu until the other table opposite me (that sat 20min after I ordered) sat down and were offered the specials straight away. I felt that because I was a solo diner I was being rushed through the so they could have the table back, even though I made a booking vice being a walk-in. Even at the end of the meal, I was given the menu for dessert but only the tables around me were offered the dessert special. The open lamb pita was delicious and I'd certainly order that again. And the wine was a nice match with the meat, tartness of the tzatziki, and freshness of the tomato and cucumber salad. Unfortunately the service overall was consistently inconsistent - perhaps they were busy and not enough staff available, but I wasn't the only one making general comment about it on the patio. To be honest, I'd come back again because the food was actually nice, and they are a staple in the community, but the service needs to up their game.

My pancakes were stone cold but I will say the aesthetics on it made it edible. The pistachio butter cream was to die for. My steak was ok ; for the price I simply just wanted more. We came on a Sunday at 1:00P and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Most tables are on the covered outdoor patio with just a few others inside the open air setting. We started off with a raw plate to share, followed by individual entrées. + SALMON CEVICHE (A$28): Thin slices of salmon in a bright zesty citrus soy dressing, with dollops of avocado cream and lime aioli. The salmon was so smooth, buttery and super fresh. I rarely eat ceviche since I usually don't care for citrus flavors, but I enjoyed this since the salmon remained the star of the plate. + DAINTREE BARRAMUNDI FILLET GRILLED (A$38): A perfectly sized fillet was delicate, moist and didn't have any bones! The skin was grilled and crisp like a chip. Normally, I'm not a fan of skin on fish, but this was impeccable. A few cauliflower florets in a flavorful chermoula added a bold punch.
