Cheddar chive biscuit egg sandwich. No, that's not sauce on the plate. It's part of the design of the plates.

Tried the brekkie bowl with salmon, kale, avocado, quinoa and scrambled eggs. I'm on a healthy eating regimen these days and this dish for the bill and was very tasty as well. What we particularly love about coming here is our fellow patrons are wonderfully down to earth and we feel like we're at home. The lovely lady behind the counter remembered us from the last time and gave us the warmest greeting.

I've been here two times, once to sit in a couple years ago and once recently for takeout. There's a quiet back room in addition to the main seating area, and although it can get a bit busy on weekday afternoons, it doesn't have the classic NYC coffee shop problem where finding a table requires constant hovering and circling and often giving up to drink your matcha in a park. Their sandwiches are upgraded coffee shop fare--the fried chicken biscuit was crispy, buttery, and had a little kick, though a bit too heavy on the cheese and lacking a sweet or fresh element in my opinion. It was too small to be a full meal but perfect for a light lunch. The wait time is that of a sit down spot, fine if you're not in a rush and are dining in. Very kind staff, I would go back again to try another one of their many fun drinks, whose descriptions are hanging upside down on the walls as décor.

I met a friend who lives in the area. There are a lot of tables. I was shocked to see that they have a room in the back. Coffee is good. They offer all different kind of dairy/non dairy options. We stayed outside for 3 hours. I would love to try the breakfast items. My friend recommended everything on their menu.

I love coming here after randomly discovering they sell kouign amann one day. I want to try their coffee but Atelier december caught me first. I'll continue to go back whenever I need one! Theyre busy and the counter is always scrambling workers making food bc open kitchen and the cashier ipad is so small almost feel like a deli window counter. I typically go during saturday noon or sunday so it feels like brunch vibes.

Cafe Madeline is my daily go-to, and they can honestly take all my money! Working nearby means I get to stop by almost every morning for my latte and one of their fresh pastries--and I never leave disappointed. I recently indulged in the cheddar chive biscuit with eggs, and I have to say, it completely won me over. I'm not usually a fan of eggs, but these were incredibly fluffy and perfectly cooked. We also tried the frecnh toast which was really good - a bit too sweet for me but delicious. To top it off, I recently also tried the Brekkie wrap, which was absolutely amazing and kept me full all day. Every dish here is fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor. I can't wait to come back for another sit-down brunch and explore more of their mouthwatering menu!

Good food and good atmosphere. The breakfast here is so fresh and authentic I was amazed at the amount of drink orders they offer. The walls are covered with different choices and drinks there's just an endless amount of options. The dressing on the side salad with the food is really good as well. I hade the rose cardomom latte and it was really good and spicy. If you're looking for a quick breakfast in a casual setting this is your place

Top notch breakfast. Fresh and healthy options. Opens early and food comes out fast. They had a variety of breakfast items and beverages to choose from. Everything was flavorful and cooked to my liking

The servers here are just the nicest people you'll ever meet! They were very warm, thoughtful and patient. I had an iced latte and you can choose between any of the milks without extra charge. The spicy potatoes were good overall but lacking a little in flavor. But nice that they give two eggs. The avocado was plentiful on the toast, although I'm not sure how well labneh pairs since they're both creamy. It would be nice to have salt and pepper shakers on the table. Overall great breakfast spot with tonssss of options and super friendly servers. We'll be back!

Great food and great service. Big menu lots to choose from. My bowl was fantastic. Generous portion and very decently priced. It's cute inside albeit pretty close quarters but the space works ok. Can't wait to go back and grab a beverage from their massive drinks selection. The hot drinks look lovely and they have so many blended drinks to choose from. The bread that came with my egg/salmon/avo bowl was so tasty I'd def try their baked goods too. I'm a fan!

I had the grilled chicken salad and it was really fresh. The greens were crisp and the chicken was still warm when it arrived. I loved the combination of avocado, tomato, and cucumber--it felt really balanced. The dressing was light but flavorful and came on the side. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxed feel. Perfect light lunch.

Huge cafe spread out across two storefront locations. One is more pastries, teas, and coffeee. Another side is hot veggie buffet, burgers, bowls, and sandwiches. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options (mostly in the Indian curry flavoring) but also standard options too. Very friendly service and very accommodating to vegan needs. Got a large bowl with a bed of rice and one of every Indian curry veggie item they had available and it was big enough for two to share. Grabbed some Brooklyn Best Peach Tea & Mango Tea that's "not too sweet". Great spot for lunch with easy fast service and outside seating.

this place rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!! we tried a handful of dishes and every single one was absolutely insane. i never write reviews, but here i am at a table of four of my friends all of us writing reviews for this place. you must eat here i'm so serious.

Stepping into Café Madeline in Brooklyn is like embarking on a daring, yet utterly delightful, expedition for your taste buds. Imagine Indiana Jones swapping his whip for a fork and knife, and you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect. For starters, I wasn't prepared for the immensity of the menu. That's usually a turnoff for me, but when you can also see and smell most of what's cooking, you kind of want to just try it all. The setup is different than I'm used to. Maybe not the place for a big group but my small crew of three did manage to shimmy through the close quarters at the front, past the order window, a single column of small 2-person tables, which led to another area of maybe 6 more tables, and finally an enclosed room with a few larger seating areas. Additionally, you can eat outside in nice weather as they also set up outdoor seating on the sidewalk. Now back to the food! The moment you enter, you're greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that pulls you in like a treasure map to the lost city of Caffeine. I had a delicious matcha latte with soy. The avocado toast here is a revelation--each bite is like discovering a hidden temple of flavor. The bread is perfectly crisp, the avocado is smoother than a well-oiled boulder trap, and the seasoning is the final, well-placed gem that completes the artifact. But let's talk about the pancakes. These aren't just pancakes; they're like fluffy clouds of joy that have descended from the heavens specifically to bless your breakfast plate. One bite and you're free-falling through layers of syrupy goodness, with each mouthful catching you just in time to keep the experience thrilling but never overwhelming. The staff? They're the guides on this journey, and they know all the secret paths to flavor town. Friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help you avoid any culinary pitfalls (like missing out on the pastries, which would be a real tragedy). In short, Café Madeline is not just a meal--it's a quest. A quest where the only thing you have to fear is running out of room in your stomach before you've tried everything. Buckle up, adventurer, because your taste buds are in for one wild ride.

Ask the Community - Cafe Madeline

Hi, can I purchase a gift card here?? I tried calling but your phone does not work (says it's not in service). You would make my day if I heard back from you all 🙏

Yes you can! I got a couple of cards last week.

Does Cafe Madeline serve halal food?

No but you can all to confirm

Is this place good to work on a laptop for couple of hours, is there wifi?

I've seen people using their laptops at the restaurant for hours. There is wi-fi available.

Do they ever pick up the phone?

No - order online if you want something from them. They actually monitor their online orders BUT never pick up the phone. In fact I don't think that they have one.

Is the phone number listed accurate, either with a 718 area code or the 218 that's currently posted? Thank you!

Well aside from me noticing a bit to late to stop the process I watched her make it and seen the liquid coming out beige at best. I actually thought she was running a cleaning of the machine, because the color just wasn't the color even a blond roast would be. I mentioned it looked light, to which she replied it's not light it's black coffee it's dark. Well I took my sip, left a dollar tip and left the coffee on the counter. With the myriad of cafes in Brooklyn these days, I would have been better with mud from the bodega.

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.
