For me, visiting a McDonald's is never exactly a proud moment. It usually means I'm a) drunk, b)…read morehungover or c) suffering a momentary lapse of self control and ruining my most recent attempts to be healthy. We've all been there, I'm sure. Thing is, McDonald's actually is good for those things and if that's what you're after then there's no shame in that. This branch is especially handy in that it's open 24 hours. It also has a drive-thru attached, although I've never used that facility so I can't properly comment on it. In spite of being a small, drive-thru branch they still do all of the major offers (so if you get one of those vouchers for a big mac and fries for £1.99 then go ahead, they'll accept it) and they do all the standard UK menu items, including the specials as they come and go. Food-wise it's the same as any other McDonald's. They can alter your items if you have any particular requirements and they almost always have a few Big Macs and McChicken Sandwiches ready to go as you walk in. If not, they're still pretty quick. Less popular items, such as specials, salads and deli sandwiches take a bit longer, but I'm pretty sure that's true everywhere. You can expect really long queues around dinner time and long-ish queues at lunch time over the weekends. I've only ever once failed to get a seat, though. Plus, the staff are quick enough and clearing the queue and if there's a wait for fries (or if you've ordered something less popular) they'll tell you to go take a seat and will bring it to you when it's ready. The toilets are kept pretty clean and the staff do a decent job of clearing the tables whenever they get chance. The WiFi is free too, so I could even imagine people working here during quieter hours. One very important thing though - don't get the coffee. It's the worst I've ever tasted. Just don't.

Last Christmas I was doing some last minute shopping with my friend and we decided to go here for a little snack as we were feeling peckish. I opted for my usual kind of baked potato - beans and cheese. It was delicious and not too pricey either! Even better was the fact that we didn't have to wait for an age to get served and the staff here are very friendly too which is an added bonus. I've also been doing my research and found a few facts about Spud U Like potatoes; 1) They are high in fibre which is doubled when you eat the skin. 2) They provide about one third of the recommended daily dose of vitamin C. 3) There are only 25 calories per ounce in a spudulike potato. 4) They are virtually fat free! Cool.

I got to say the hogmany you guys put on was pure class but the real highlight of me trip was visiting Glasgow's Spud-u-like. After along new years eve sesh bangin e's and guzzling cider came the harsh light of morning. Me belly was rumbling & I stumbled across this top class restaurant. Me love affair with the baked potato is no secret. I scoffed about 7 of these off me tits & nearly killed me self by driving over me own head. That's all behind me though & enjoy me baked potatoes in moderation. I walked in there & the aroma of fresh potatoes been baked led me to the lass at the till by the nose. I arrived at the till already on cloud nine. I looked up at the selection & I was like a kid in a candy store - tuna, sweetcorn & mayonnaise, cheese & baked beans, coleslaw, chili con carne and even chicken tikka! I was bloody impressed let me tell you! I ordered the tuna, sweetcorn & mayonnaise. I made a crack about the lass frying it because that's what you nutters do innit, fried creme eggs & mars bars! The lass even laughed at me little joke. Me food arrived swiftly and I sat down I tucked in. It was pukka! The potato was light n fluffy, the tuna delicious & the mayonnaise nice and creamy. I saw that there with me belly full like the cat that got the cream or if you've seen Emma's bastard cats on me documentary 'Being Brian Harvey', the cat that got me cuppa! I had a banging night in the top clubs of Glasgow and rounded it off the next morning with a stellar tuna mayonnaise baked potato. It was off the chain!
