The man on the phone took a while to get past the language barrier, but after ten or so minutes of shouting 'no, chicken Dansac not dopiaza' down the phone, we finally got our order placed. We decided to drive down and get it in the end as delivery was going to take a good hour and we were starving! I went with my friend and we drove down the road to what can only be described as a shack, which looked a lot like it should be closed down. It's really small inside, with barely enough room for 4 or 5 customers, but it looked clean enough so we tried to brush our initial reservations aside as we waited on our order. It came out in pretty quick time with free popudoms and spicy onions, and off we went. To be frank, we weren't expecting much after the state of the take away. It really is horrible, and if we had seen it before we ordered we definitely would have decided against it! The portion sizes were huge and we had enough left over to feed the five thousand. The prices were about reasonable for an Indian take away but I wouldn't have minded paying a little more for the amount we got. I had a chicken dansac with fried rice and Peshwari Nann and it was out of this world, by far one of the nicest Indian meals I have ever had, and most definitely the nicest take away by a million miles. The sauce was rich with plenty of lentils in it, the rice was soft and fluffy and the nann was packed with coconut and really sweet, absolutely yummy! My friends have since moved away, and I always compare all of my Indian meals to this one. I haven't had one better since. This is a prime example of not judging a book by it's cover

Until about 2 years ago, this place was the go-to for all family events; birthdays, celebrations, exam passing etc.. and we have never been dissapointed, returning regularly for the lunch buffet when shopping in Hamilton. It is much smaller than China Buffet King and the likes but it is perhaps because of this that the food seems to taste much better and fresher. They always have a wide selection of dishes available and quite unusually for a chinese buffet, they have loads of puddings. They are always fully booked at the weekends so i would advise you to book early to ensure you get a table, especially if it is a big party. As usual the drinks are way over-priced but everyone seems to expect this when they visit a chinese restaurant! The lunch buffet here is about 8.00 and the evening menu is around 12.00 which is pretty good value for money. Definetly worth a visit if you are sick of the commercialised buffet chains in Glasgow.

I have been in when it is quieter before and the servers really go out of their way to look after you... One girl got our refills for our drinks that you usually have to go up for yourself. Inside it's a mix of funky and cool, often recycled materials and luxurious leather booths for larger parties. If you've never been to Nando's I genuinely feel sorry for you. One of the only chain restaurants I enjoy and actively seek out.

As I got older, I realised my tastes had changed, and now, I would say that Chinese and Indian take aways are on an even keel for me. This take away opened up a few years ago, and helped convert me to the ways of spice. The menu is big and varied. If there is something you want but don't see, you will probably be able to order it anyway, if you just ask the chef. The people who own The Curry Club have become friends, and often give us discounts, and even bring stuff to our back gate (which is literally ten steps away from the take away). The owners are friendly and personable, always asking me how I'm getting on at Uni and even making my boyfriend feel welcome when I started dating him, which was lovely. The stand out favourite from The Curry Club has got to be the pizzas. They are to die for! The base is always crispy on the outside, but just the right amount of doughy in the middle, and they are always brimming with toppings and cheese. A medium pizza is around 12" and could easily feed four people. They do meal deals too, like a 10" pizza, chips, king kebab and can of juice for about £8, brilliant if you have people round to watch a film. Their munchy boxes are also fab, at £5-£9 depending on the size. They usually contain a good sized nann bread, pakora, chicken chatt, chicken tikka, chips and salad. Not the healthiest of meals, but damn tasty when you just can't be bothered cooking and you don't care about your waistline, which happens to me far too often! The currys are good and don't skimp on portion size or quality. We usually get the meal deal for £15.99, which includes 2 curries of your choice, two rices, salad, nann bread and pakora, which is more than enough for 4 people, and really tasty. My personal favourite is the Chicken Dansac, a lentil and chicken curry which is just the right side of spicy. The prices are really good, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's just that little bit too convenient for me! You have to try a Curry Club pizza before you die, I insist!
