This is a quick service counter that offers coffees, smoothies, desserts, grilled sandwiches, and treats. I have not had any of the beverages; but my coworkers have and have enjoyed. A lot of their sandwiches are premade and are stored in the front cooler. They are then grilled in front of you. A couple that I like are: "Grilled Cheese" -- Brie Cheese and Bacon - Yummy "Veggie Sandwich" - a bun full of veggies and cheese - ok I have bought a lot of their banana and poppy seed take and go cake slices. They are pretty good, and are great for staving off the mid afternoon munchies. One evening I swung by for a slice of cake to go. It was a bit of a let down because it had been sitting in the refridgerated cooler for a few days and had dried out. Next time I know not to pick a cake with only a few slices left. Overall, its a decent place, and the grilled cheese is above average. I have and will repeat again. I'm giving it three stars just because there's another sandwich spot nearby that I would rate higher.

When I was there with friends they were rather busy, so it took a while to get our order (order and pick up at the counter). It had been a long day and Fall weather had started, so I opted for a hot chocolate. We had already had dinner, so we just ordered pastries to accompany our hot chocolate or coffee. I enjoyed mine as did my friends. The ambience is very casual, a little bohemian, and comfortable. Most people spoke French, but the ladies at the counter were bilingual and gracious. This is the kind of place to hang out with good friends and have conversation. Totally a positive experience despite the delay in receiving our orders.

Pooh enjoyed his cappuccino;however, my latté had lots of foam on top which I had asked not to have plus it wasn't very hot. And many spots to sit outside in nice weather. Baked goods are hard to resist. Small but mighty selection. Everything is good! Coffee is reliably well made, and the cozy seating area is great on a cold day. What I love about inside is the low key quirkiness, from old hair salon chairs to snow shoe art, I usually spot something I've never noticed before. They do also have a small light lunch type of menu, and anything I've ordered from that has been tasty. Staff are top notch - well versed on the product, always genuine, and efficient. It's a little gem hidden away in the neighborhood. In summer, parking can be a challenge, and the ice cream line looks daunting. But good things come to those who wait, and the line moves at an efficient pace.

They sell lots of fancy pastries, with the prices to match, lol. I've tried the Lychee Rose cake $11.50. It was served in a round container the size of a small drinking glass. The lychee and Rose flavours were pronounced, but the rose dominated and I would have preferred the reverse. The top had a light sprinkling of tiny real rose petal pieces. The cake was sponge cake and was soft and moist. The cream was airy and fluffy. It was tasty, but a bit pricey for the portion size. I've also tried their Korean macarons ($3.90 each). Korean macarons are like French macarons except there's a lot of filling and it's a thick buttery cream. I'm not a fan of the filling. It's too rich for me. However, if you like these types of macarons these are well made. My overall assessment is that the desserts look pretty, the taste is good, but you're paying more for the aesthetics. Service is courteous and efficient. The cafe is also really pretty inside. Very Instagramble ;) It's in a plaza, so lots of free parking. (25)

The seating and tables weren't being attended to, so there were crumbs at and on every available seating/table combo. The garbage in the seating area was overflowing. Customer service at the cash was cheerful and reasonably efficient. The barrista failed us, as, with only our order, it took a while to receive it. My flat white, which should be smooth with a slightly sweet finish was bitter and acidic. Sigh. Lots of people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The pastries are as stunning and tasty as at the other location. This location is also quite beautiful with an airy feel. Nice space for a chat. The seating along the window is likely best suited to singles, or under thirty crowd, as, to have a conversation, you either have to put a leg up on the bench or crane your torso and neck. I found it a bit uncomfortable. And since that was just about the only seating left...I'm wondering if others may have had similar experiences. This location is much closer to home for us... maybe I'll keep my Doa fix for when I'm in the west end of the city.

I avoided going at lunch hour on any day; I just dropped in before or after these periods as it was almost impossible to get a table. The staff were very efficient and knew what they were doing. I cannot say enough about this boulangerie. A must visit. Their ground expresso coffee is one of the best that I have tasted and I left with 2 bags. Very well priced. If I could have taken more home I would have. Try the salmon tasting really devious as well as the almond croissant. The everyday breakfast croissant was tasty too. Located in a trendy shopping area. We got the pistachio croissant and the chocolate hazelnut puff pastry in addition to the golden latte and apple caramel fog latte. Both lattes are not caffeinated and absolutely the most delicious, some of the best we have had. The apple caramel fog was one of the most unique drinks I have had in my life. I don't even like caramel but this was so good. It was like a caramel apple or apple caramel pie in drink form. I cannot recommend it enough. It's absolutely worth coming out here just for this. The pistachio croissant and chocolate hazelnut puff pastry were also very solid. We enjoyed both. Pastel & coco shines in every capacity, a perfect rating from me. When I got to the front, I saw a summer feature menu and was pulled in. I was excited to try one of their summer features: the blueberry matcha particularly since I had never tried one before. Unfortunately, I think I received a regular matcha or they didn't hear me say "aux bleuets" because there was no blueberry in sight or in flavour It was also a bit too watery for me perhaps because I opted to try it with coconut milk since the almond or oat milk options came with a 50 cent additional charge. I'd pass on this. However the redeeming quality was their matcha raspberry muffin! It was a 5/5 and probably the best vegan muffin I've had (or even muffin in general). It had the perfect moistness and texture with bits of raspberry and chocolate chips. Though it was a bit more pricy at $4.75, the quality was amazing and I'd love to go back and try some of their other baked goods. Overall, a very quaint spot attached to Astoria Bistro and located by many offices, I'd say their vegan baked goods would seem to be the highlight.
