Pour commencer, le pain était extraordinaire: une croûte bien croquante et une mie très bien aérée. Les saucissons étaient exactement comme je les aime, secs et très goûteux. Although I live just across the bridge in Ottawa, I rarely ever go to Gatineau. So my husband and I have been making some excursions that we call our "adventures in Gatineau" lol, and going to Maison Oddo was one of our adventures, haha. The TLDR version is the pastry was tasty, the scone was dry, both were expensive. We got an Escargot au Citron (Lemon Snail-shaped Pastry) and it was $5.35. We also got a lemon and cranberry scone which was also $5.35. The Escargot au Citron was essentially a glazed croissant filled with lemon custard. It was rich, buttery, moist and sweet. It was delicious, but I've had items just as delicious for less elsewhere. The scone in my opinion was dry and hard. It did have a potent lemon flavour and was studded with a good amount of dried cranberries. I've had much better for less elsewhere. The place was busy with a lineup, but the line moved fast. Looks like they have a loyal following. I personally found the items too pricey since I have had same or better for less expensive (and at more convenient locations to me). I don't see myself returning, but your mileage may vary, depending on your tastes and available funds. Lots of free parking in the shared plaza parking lot. read more

Maison Oddo is located in Gatineau, Québec right on the other side of the bridge if you're in Ottawa, Ontario. The bakery has a wide selection of breads, cakes, and pastries, with some savory options like pizza and sandwiches. The inside of the store is clean and spacious, but does not have any seating or tables for customers to enjoy their purchase there. The staff are super friendly and speaks both English and French. I tried 3 types of croissants here. I can be a bit picky with croissants, and didn't love the plain croissant here. It was soft, but not as flaky and buttery as I would have liked. The almond and chocolate croissants, on the other hand, were well made. I also tried the "Undergrowth" and loved it! Not only was it aesthetically pleasing, as looked like a mushroom on a forest ground, but it was also delicious. It had a good balance of soft mousse, and sponge cake, with a touch of crunch for a contrast in textures, plus it wasn't overly sweet. read more

pastries were incredibly well made. good balance of butter , each pastry had a really tender interior with a lightly caramelized exterior for the kouign-amann and a flaky exterior for the croissant. I really enjoyed these and cannot recommend enough. service was prompt, no seating inside read more

This bakery is amazing . We had cappuccino and plain croissant and escargot l'rable for brunch then went back the same day for after dinner dessert-citron tartlet and escargot au citron. We wanted to try everything ... breads looked and smell wonderful . The Maison Oddo is in a strip mall and located in the back so hard to find. But we'll worth it . read more

My oh My.. so I was waiting for that bridge to open to get some desserts from this fairly new bakery in Gatineau. It's 5 minutes across the bridge, big parking lot. There was a long line up infront of me (they allow only 4 in store) and once I stood ten people came right behind me. The line up moves fairly quick. I tried 2 things, their milleufeuille (which was heavenly good) and their lemon mirengue tart which was super delicious and the crust is amazing! Definitely going back soon.. would love to try their baked croissants and bread too! read more

AHMAZING. I'm a regular there. Always get a Mocha & plain croissant. They have a variety of croissants and sandwhiches Never had a Mocha as good as theirs Staff is ALWAYS ALWAYS SO FRIENDLY even when they are super packed !! The ambiance is great. Love it read more

NOMNOM....! This French bakery has just as stunning baked offerings as the store itself. They have beautifully showcased pastries, grab and go gourmet sandwiches, loaves/breads. A delightful setting for a bite pre-COVID... yet I still don't mind making the drive here even for curbside seating in the parking lot. IT'S THAT GOOD. Though I haven't tried the entire menu, I'm working on it and everything has been exceptional. Enjoy ODDO 5 days a week :) closed Sunday and Monday. Take out for now b/c of COVID restrictions but there is a large parking lot and park nearby while the weather is nice. read more
