Everytime I come here it's a 5 star experience. First of all, this place has the best hojicha latte in DFW and I always ask for it with Oat Milk. We were in the area super early so we stopped in for breakfast (first time!) and breakfast did not disappoint. I got an avocado toast and the hubs got the morning set that comes with sausage, toast (thick!), and side salads. It was perfect. Presentation and service is also the best here!
Cafe Hana is one of my favorite Japanese cafés. The space has had a minor update as there are also more pastry and dessert options. Time for a review update! My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Café Hana has a new sign outside. The coffee shop seating has been replaced with small tables. The result is more seating for this popular weekend spot. There are also some tables outside which is always a good option if weather permits. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super nice. It's counter service, so you order at the front. Café Hana also has a new menu which showcases how diverse their tea, coffee, and food items are. After placing our order, we grabbed a seat, and a short time later our items came out. You'll feel very welcome here. 1 Star. Food - Thank you Café Hana for the new menu! I ordered a Yuzu Pear Ade because I never heard of it. Oh my, it turned out to be a deliciously refreshing pear soda. It was very Japanese and very good. On this visit, I went with a pork katsu sando. First of all, the sando was so pretty when it came out, I had to snap a photo before I devourted the tender fried pork cutlet. The Japanese slaw added a cool, creamy texure. But what held it all together (literally) was the perfectly toasted bread. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I think I could fill the remainder of 2026 with a different drink from Café Hana each weekend. Yes, not only will I be back, I need to strategically plan my next visit. 1 Star.
I really loved the service here. The lady at the front was extremely kind and super friendly. The matcha was amazing, I loved the flavor and the texture, it was everything I looked for in a matcha and 100% recommend this spot to everyone. The cafe itself seems a little cramped and the front is kind of disorienting but it isn't terrible. Loved the flavor of the matcha here!
This small and adorable cafe has Japanese inspired meals and Japanese novelty all around. This is one of the few places where you can find sandos in DFW! I'm biased with hojichas since I enjoyed the taste of roasted green tea and the mango they added made for a delicious drink. The staff are also very friendly - they close early! Be sure to show up early if you can. My friends and I always come back here for a quick stop, the drinks and food items are tough to find!
I liked the good variety on the menu and plenty of parking. I got the Mentaiko Pasta which was fairly tasty, balanced, and the bread that came with it was toasted and delish. Also had the Curry Rice which was on the meatier end so not the typical Japanese sweetness which was a plus and the katsu. All the portions were small for the average texan. Strawberry Matcha Latte was quiet expensive considering adding oat milk made it $9.50, not the most amazing drink. I would not try the items again, but would consider coming back to try some other things on the menu.
The cafe is on the smaller side and has a limited menu of sando and some other foods. You order and pay at the counter at the front so service on the lighter side. We opted for the spicy chicken katsu. The spice element is just chili paste/sambal so the heat is definitely there. The chicken is on the dryer side though but overall its a simple sando. The drinks weren't too bad, with some nice seasonal offerings to choose from.
a solid four stars! I can't believe this place exist in the middle of irving... We were in the area and wanted to get something to drink. This place popped up and had lots of interesting drinks. We ended up getting a matcha pineapple tea and a mango hojicha latte with oatmilk. Both drinks were really good. The first sip was actually really sweet, but once you mix it around it gets better. Also, for the hojicha drink, i think it had red bean in it? not 100% certain, and normally i don't like red bean, but this was really good. They also have pastries, and we ended up getting a yuzu one. i see that they also have entrees like curry and sandwiches. This place seems very small, so i don't know where they have the space to cook all the food items, one hypothesis is that they get the food from the Japanese restaurant next door. Service was great and they were friendly.
Cute, small-business Japanese cafe that offers great quality food and drinks! I'm not much of a matcha aficionado but this would certainly be any matcha lover's dream, especially in terms of the variety that's offered. They already have a wide selection in terms of their general menu but they also offer a seasonal menu with a number of variety as well. I personally got the matcha pineapple tea which I thought provided a great matcha flavor and was balanced by just the right amount of sweetness with the pineapple. For food, I got the chicken katsu sandwich. There was a hefty sized chicken breast that they used. The lettuce provides a nice crunch and the teriyaki sauce gives the flavor. It was certainly filling but the chicken was so thick that sometimes it just didn't have enough flavor. Maybe it could have been seasoned more or a greater amount of teriyaki sauce could have been added. Briefly, in terms of service, I thought it was great. It seems like a small, tight-knit group of people that are truly invested in the business. If I'm in the area again, I look forward to coming back.
I stopped by Cafe Hana for lunch today and this place is an awesome Japanese cafe with a good amount of food options. After reviewing the menu, I decided to go with the Ebi Fry Curry. When the food arrived, it was picturesque. The shrimp were perfectly crispy and the curry was very well flavored. I thought the portion size was perfect as well for lunch. They have a plethora of drink options as well. I decided to get a midday matcha and that hit the spot. Since I work close, I'll be becoming a regular here.
Cutest Japanese cafe with Japanese owners! They have a large variety of drink combos and some dishes. They have lunch sets during the weekdays and other dishes like curry and sandwiches. I got their katsu sandwich which was delicious! It doesn't come with anything on the side. For drinks I got their matcha and hojicha which were both good, not the best I've had in the DFW area but still satisfies my cravings. They also have some smaller Japanese snacks available. They have a few tables inside and one or two seats outside to enjoy. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area!
It's a very crowded and cramped cafe, and their staff isn't the nicest. I ordered a matcha latte and the mentaiko pasta, and both were just okay. The matcha wasn't well mixed, so my first sip was almost all powder. The mentaiko pasta was too fishy with not enough spice to balance out the fishiness, and the sauce was too watery. A lot of people were in the cafe chatting, so it's probably not the best environment/cafe to go to if you want a quiet place to study or get some work done. However, I'd be down to come back again and try their sandos because they do look really good! I'd also like to try some of their other drinks as well.
Disappointing service overshadowed what could've been an interesting spot. We walked in genuinely excited, but the experience unraveled quickly. When we asked what pastries were available, we were met with a curt "Why can't you just look and gauge?"--which immediately set the tone. The menu itself was definitely interesting, but rude service makes it hard to appreciate creativity. The space was full, parking was easy (plenty of spots), but signage was minimal, making the place oddly hard to find. Seating also wasn't very comfortable--fine for a quick stop, not somewhere you'd want to linger. One upside: items were pre-packed, which made ordering faster than it otherwise would've been. Unfortunately, speed didn't translate to quality or care. I came in around 1:30 PM, and there wasn't much of a line. Still, drinks took a long time to come out. When the coffee finally arrived, it was spilled--half of it on the floor--and no one came by to clean it up. We ordered the cappuccino, chocolate bread, cheesecake, and of course, the matcha. The matcha was the biggest letdown, especially given the price (higher than I've seen at most places). It tasted artificial, arrived lukewarm, was overly sweet despite asking for no sweetener, and was already spilling over the cup when it reached the table. Bold statement but probably the worst matcha i've consumed. I've been to so many places in Dallas where the service is genuinely warm and welcoming, so this was a real shock. Overall, the service and attitude were not good at all, and unfortunately, that overshadowed everything else. Final take: interesting concept, but poor service and a very underwhelming (and overpriced)

The matcha latte was nice! Almost tastes like matcha Ice cream. The weekend was busy inside with people chatting, eating, or working. It's not too loud so I'll definitely come back on a weekday to check it out and work/study. The food seemed the best made fresh too so would love to come back for lunch. read more

I've heard great things about Cafe Hana! I stopped by with some friends to check it out. I ordered an iced matcha latte and the katsu sando. The iced matcha latte was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet. The katsu sando was delicious, although I wished it came with a dipping sauce. The staff is very friendly. There's a decent amount of seating, but the tables are close to one another. There are some power outlets, although some extension cords could help. Bathrooms were clean! And there was lots of parking. The menu is kind of limited as of me writing this review, but they definitely have the basics down. I look forward to new menu items to come in the future! read more
The sign is very small & non-descript but its located in a corner plaza next to Edoko. - Matcha & hojicha lattes - Soft shell crab - Strawberry - Ham tamago - Yakiniku (beef) shishito Tab was about $60-70. Tables were full, so we sat at the bar & watched them at work. The pastry case features assorted desserts, including a partnership with Oh Mai Goodness. Our fave sando was the crab, which had a nice texture. The tamago sando was hard boiled egg style & not the omelette we thought. Drinks were crafted properly as well. The food does take a while to come out but it's worth the wait. read more

As someone who truly values and supports small businesses, I rarely leave negative reviews. However, my recent experience at Hana was quite disappointing. I ordered the matcha and tamago sandwich, expecting a fresh and thoughtful presentation--especially since matcha preparation is an art in itself. Unfortunately, what I received was a pre-made, bitter matcha that lacked flavor and quality. When I shared my feedback politely, the response I got was dismissive, saying they had already served five that day--as if that negated my experience. I remained courteous and decided to try an iced mocha instead, but that too missed the mark completely. To spend $20 on a bitter drink and a frozen sandwich felt incredibly disheartening. I genuinely wanted to like this place, but sadly, this was one of the most disappointing food experiences I've had in Texas. I couldn't sit and I left. Mocha was bad too, I blame the quick way of makin match and tryna get rid of the order - I could be cancelled I'm pretty much sure they'd blame me :) since, they come across lot of customers negatively bashin, but nah! This is a great little cafe with a limited menu. The food itself is pretty good! I've tried the curry bun, melon breads, and coffee jelly. My favorite item out of these three has been the coffee jelly. The mouse is pretty decadent and flavorful. I'm not a huge fan of melon bread as sometimes it can be pretty dry. The curry bun is pretty awesome too! I would say the vibe is laid back and every time I visit it usually isn't crowded. My only complaint is the hours they are open as they have been closed when I try to stop by after work. I think they also have staffing issues and are looking to hire more employees. Will definitely stop back in the future to try some of their sandwiches. read more

I loved this little Japanese cafe. I tried a rose matcha latte and it was elegantly presented. I didn't see an overwhelming anime theme to the decor, but there were certainly nods to it here and there. The employees all cheerily greet you when you come in. The place was packed on a late Sunday morning. They have a few cafe tables on the sidewalk outside when the weather is nice. I didn't try it, but they have a decadent strawberry crème sandwich as well as an egg salad sandwich which looked tempting. Maybe next time! read more

My family and I struggled to find this place, but it's to the left of Edoko. The sign is a white circle with verrrry small text, so we completely missed it and drove circles around the plaza. Anyway, I was super excited to try this spot since it's the same owner as Oh Mai Goodness who sells her desserts at Mitsuwa and also at some Japanese restaurants in Dallas. She event catered the dessert at my wedding, so these treats have a special place in my heart. I wish I had a bigger appetite that day because I wanted to order every single sando but instead opted for the hojicha latte and panna cotta, which were such a warm snuggle of roasted tea flavor. I wasn't very impressed with the okinawa taco rice that my dad ordered, but everything else was really yummy. read more
Cute little Japanese cafe! It's small but cozy. They have lots of bakery items in the display case as well as some food items on the menu. I went with the egg sando and iced matcha latte. The egg sando was very generous with the amount of filling. The bread was soft and the egg was fresh. This is the best iced matcha latte in Dallas. You can tell the quality of the matcha is top notch. I can't wait to come back to try more of their food. read more
The strawberry sandwich features authentically Japanese-style bread with a chewy texture, generously topped with mildly sweet whipped cream and fresh, large strawberries, providing a satisfying bite. I think the coffee would be better if it were sized more like the other local cafe's. The menu board was placed at the feet. It might be a stylish arrangement, but it was hard to read. The food, drinks, and service were top notch at Cafe Hana! Every item I ordered was prepared with care and pride. I placed my order to go, and despite it being busy I got my items quickly while I enjoyed my tea. Come support a woman run small business, especially if you want to try authentic Japanese sandos and desserts. I can't wait to come back to try more menu items. For other reviews complaining about bitterness of the matcha, it seems those reviewers are used to drinking sugar laden drinks. This matcha is high grade quality matcha similar to what you'd get in Japan! I ordered an iced strawberry matcha latte, tuna sando, pork katsu sando, strawberry cream sando, and a mango pudding to go with tax + tip $46. read more
Amazing Japanese breakfast offered here including tamago sandos (egg sandwiches), Nagoya morning sets (egg salad, sausage and a big slice of buttered toast), taco rice (an Okinawan specialty), and strawberry green tea matcha and mango hojicha iced teas. Also this amazing jiggly yuzu flavored jelly dessert, one from among a large selection of other cold desserts. They have curries as well and a variety of different sandos like katsu, curry, etc. Cozy interior with posters of anime on the wall and excellent service (all the employees are also Japanese I believe). I visited this shop for the first time today, and I will be back! The matcha tea was delicious, not too sweet, but not chalky or watery either. The atmosphere was basic, nothing special and felt a little cramped and disorganized, but it was somewhat functional. This is such a cute place to try some high quality Japanese style cafe drinks & treats. The staff are friendly, & the food are both cute & delicious. I never had an iced Hojicha latte before, & I'm glad I did! It went very well with our イチゴのサンド/strawberry sandwich. Not gonna lie - the taste, texture, & quality of this sandwich reminded me of my pleasant cafe experiences of when I was in Japan. So, it brings me comfort just knowing there's something like this in the continental US, not to mention in Texas! Oh, keep in mind there isn't a public trash bin (as this is the norm in Japan) in the cafe. From my experience in Japan, it is normal for customers to gather & discard their own trash at home. However, staff have instructed us to leave the waste & they "will take care of it". Also, please be mindful that space is limited; it may be best to just pick up & go. Great service. We ordered Pork Katsu curry, egg and strawberry sando, and chicken katsu sando. Curry has a slight spice/kick to it. The sando's bread is extremely soft. The chicken katsu sando could've had a little bit more sauce but overall great. We also ordered the iced hazelnut and caramel latte (with almond milk). Hazelnut is quite strong on the nutty taste which I enjoyed. Caramel latte was a little too milky but flavor and espresso are there. We also order the strawberry matcha and it was the best drink! read more

I brought my brother who lived in Japan here and the lady taking his order also spoke Japanese, and he had such a great time speaking with her! What a cozy cute place with amazing food and drinks! I went with my coworkers for Friday lunch and I was surprised how quickly this place fills up! We ordered a variety of Sandos to try out and I got Hojicha latte for my drink. First of all this was the BEST hojicha latte I have ever had. I could honestly go here for just the drink. It was right amount of sweetness and the Hojicha flavor was on point. The Sandos were all good but my favorite was the classic Katsu Sando. I've had some Katsu sando's in Japan and the ones I had at Cafe Hana were comparable to them. Others were all good, I would like to give them a credit for trying out different varieties. Overall very pleased and I would like to go back to try some of their other dishes. It's a bit far from where I live but I learned they sell some of their Sandos at Mitsuwa in Plano so I will go there if I wanted to quickly grab something. read more

So this is an odd little shop, it seems like a backdoor cafe that is really ran by the restaurant next door. When I arrived, there was not a lot of activity going on just after 8 AM. I go in and there are no other customers there, just two of the workers there. Most of the lights were off or dimly lit, I order an iced latte and it was pretty good. Nice coffee flavor and a good amount of requested caramel. The ladies were nice and fast. read more

Great Japanese coffee and pastry shop. Tried their cafe latte and coffee jelly & chocolate mousse dessert. Great tasting coffee and nice, unique, not too sweet dessert. Service was efficient and friendly and (interior) ambiance was nice. Realize from the outside, you might think it's closed down! Their minimalistic logo that looks great on the coffee cup almost looks like a prior businesses sign had been removed from the building. It also has dark windows that don't give the appearance of an open business from the outside. Just know if you're looking at Edoko, it'll be the business on the opposite end of the building. I nearly drove away until I saw someone exit. read more
A cute new Japanese cafe has opened up in Irving! I love hojicha lattes and they're rare to find so I was excited to try theirs. The hojicha flavor was not present enough and I mostly just tasted milk. My friend's matcha latte had a lot of clumps and wasn't whisked enough. The tamago sando was solid. The strawberry sando was disappointing though. They charge a lot for a sandwich that only has cream and strawberries... the ratio of the cream and strawberries was off. It was too much cream and became too unappetizing to finish. Although it looks aesthetically pleasing to the eye and for the camera, it lacks in flavor. I really like the concept for this cafe so I hope they can improve their menu items in the near future. read more

Cute little cafe with delicious food, sandwiches, and desserts! A casual establishment where you order at the counter, they'll bring your food/ drinks out, and you bus your own table. Self serve station for utensils, napkins, and water. There aren't a lot of seats here so I'd try to come early or during a non-peak hours if you wanted to dine in. I do notice that it's one of those places where there will be smokey/ food smell on your hair and clothes when you leave (sort of like if you went to kbbq if you know what I mean). I don't really mind because it comes with the territory of eating hot fresh food cooked there. Just something to note for people who aren't expecting it from a cafe shop and wanted a place to study/ work but are sensitive to food smells! read more
Had a great experience trying Cafe Hana. It's tucked off in Irving, but the vibe & food are both amazing. We tried the drinks (forgot the exact names), the Strawberry Sando, & the Chicken Katsu Sando. My favorite was the Chicken Katsu Sando. It was big & every bite was delicious. Cute, small cafe with some delicious food and drink! Not much else around it other than a sushi restaurant. Seating is pretty limited, with a handful of tables inside and a few outside. Katsu sando and udon were great! Strawberry sando was good if you want a dessert (basically eating a cake by hand). read more

The cafe is so cute, definitely stop in if you like coffee or dessert. They also have a menu to eat from. It's very clean and would be a great place to bring a friend/date for a chat or even just to work. The service is very helpful and friendly! The girl at the counter helped me pick out my dessert, the mango yogurt cup. I took it home to share and was so glad because it was so rich and creamy! I also got an iced vanilla latte, which is one of THE best I've ever had! read more
