I love this place and came back again--and the experience was so much better this time. Service has improved significantly: much more attentive and genuinely friendly. The bean burger is hands down the best I've ever had; I honestly came back just for that. I also tried the tofu bowl, which was beautifully smoked and absolutely delicious. For dessert, I highly recommend the warm cookie dough with ice cream--it was incredible. You can tell management really pays attention to the details, and it shows in the overall experience. Went for a walk with a friend around Venice and decided to stop by Cafe Gratitude for lunch. I was looking for a place that wasn't too unhealthy and my friend also has a bunch of allergies, so this restaurant seemed to hit all the checkmarks for us. Right when we walked in, service was friendly and accommodated us and a little doggo on the patio. The menu was a QR code thing, I was stuck between the I am Mindful protein bowl and the I am Worthy omelet and after the server showed me photos, I decided to go with the omelet! It was delish, I finished the whole thing. My friend ordered the pasta and she ate the whole thing too. The overall vibe of the restaurant patio was super chill. We enjoyed the nice beach weather and had a nice view of all the cutie pies jogging down the street lol. Overall, will definitely come back. read more

Came to cafe gratitude with my friends Emmie and Kylie last Saturday for lunch after a soundbath at Shefa around the corner. The menu & entire vibe of Cafe Gratitude was everything we could have asked for. From the I am statements that made up the menu, GF options for my GF girlies and accommodations on my wrap for my many allergies, it was all 5 stars. The chai smelt delicious, fries tasted great, and pasta was cooked perfectly. Having allergies makes attention to detail key and the waiter took care of each and every one of us. We stopped in for coffee while waiting for our daughter and didn't realize it was a vegan restaurant -- our first time trying one! The whole concept is so unique and inspiring. Each menu item is named after a positive affirmation, which really adds to the vibe and experience. I had the I AM MARVELOUS Mocha Coffee and the I AM DIVINE Cheesecake, while my husband ordered the I AM COURAGEOUS Coffee and I AM APPRECIATED Strawberry Cheesecake. I love cafe grattitude except they keep repeating the same mistake which is serving a scoop of ROTTEN GUACAMOLE with their Yo soy mucho. I again had to throw it away again. It's now happened to me at least 15 times in the last 2 years where the guacamole they serve is ROTTEN.....its disgusting and unappatizing to see that in the salad. It was completely brown. Guacamole is supposed to be green!! Please whoever is reading this have some training with your servers and teach them to have pride in what they are serving. read more

I was so happy to discover this place on a spontaneous Venice boardwalk visit when we missed a connecting flight and were stuck on a long layover in LA. I had their "I am enthusiastic" sandwich with smashed potatoes and relished every bite. My family had the watermelon sushi, the Mediterranean protein bowl, and the adaptogenic plant protein bowl. The outdoor seating was very nice and when the breeze felt a bit chilly, we wete able to warm up with the lava lamp warmer next to our table that they lit up on request. It was my first time dining here for dinner recently and my friends and I had a wonderful experience here. The staff were friendly and welcoming and they answered any questions we had about the menu. We sat outside in the covered patio area and it was heated and well lit. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from ranging from bowls to pizza and wraps and plates. They have cocktails and spirits if you want to drink along with juices & shots and even tonics. I went for the I Am Blessed which is their butternut squash bolognese. The pasta was well-cooked, the broccolini had a good texture, the almond burrata on top was creamy and delicate. The red chili added some spice which I liked and the garlic crumb provided that extra umami flavor which brought the whole bowl together. Overall, we had an excellent dinner here and I'm looking forward to dropping by again for lunch or grabbing a quick coffee or smoothie when I'm on the go. read more

I always have an amazing meal at Cafe Gratitude so anytime someone suggests it, I'm there! I went with a friend for brunch and got there soon after it opened. There were many spots open but it filled up quickly, inside and out - despite the June gloom. We sat indoors and the servers immediately came over to greet and help us, brought our food fast and then let us talk for as long as we wanted to which we totally appreciated! I had the IAM CONFIDENT Italian quiche which was a mouthful of explosive fresh flavors of fresh vegetables and smooth burrata! The crunchy crusty breads (baked in the quiche and served alongside) were the best and so amazing at soaking up all of the delicious sauce! I had to start with something sweet though and ordered (and split) I AM GENTLE banana bread. Just the perfect amazing and so hearty and gluten-free. Yes, you really can have it all at Cafe Gratitude. This place is a vegans paradise. The space is large and inviting and overall very comfortable. I've only gone in person to order take out so can't give an honest review on table service just yet, but will update when I do. The take out counter is so cute and has like a little shop for drinks, merch and various holistic products you can buy which I loved. I will say this though; we stood there for about 15 min before we were attended to at the counter and the woman there definitely saw us and never came to take our order, the manager actually came to do it. He was really nice and accommodating though. But shortly after he took our order, she came up and took the order of the people behind us and even offered them smoothie samples. A little odd she couldn't even take our order when we're standing but can do that, but ok. In terms of the food, so far everything I've gotten here has been outstanding in terms of taste and variety. Honestly the pizzas are my new favorite especially for gluten-free. They don't have that cardboard or foamy texture, just real pizza with real high quality ingredients. The Hawaiian is honestly my absolute favorite (if you like pineapple of course). The only thing I'll note is sometimes we've gotten that pizza and they've just forgotten the coconut bacon and tempeh and another time they added it with what seemed to be a BBQ sauce. The desserts are SO good and it's like a candy store for a gluten-free person cause there are SO many options. You don't feel like you're missing out on much and can just freely pick what you want. Everything is fresh and tastes just so good. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes but I hope the service is better than the counter cause that was a bit off putting. Also their rewards system is worth signing up for (and I hate doing that stuff usually), but we got $10 off our first order you rack up points easily. My husband and I came here for lunch and it was my first return visit in 10 years. A lot has changed (in a good way)! Our food was tasty and the server was attentive. They allow dogs on the patio and a pair of older pups laid next to us. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but it's tasty and ingredients are high quality. I wish there was more crema ajo blanco because it was tasty and the salsa macha was like a dry rub spice that was smokey. The corn was really crisp as well. I AM VALUED - Chorizo Breakfast Burrito - it was a little small but my partner said it was tasty! The almond burrata wasn't super present so could use more of that. Theres a little too much black beans and the smash baby potatoes could be more crispy. I AM LOVING - Forbidden Black Rice Bowl - Probably the most filling of the two mains. I liked the maple sesame dressing and garlic tahini! The spicy fresno chiles gave a nice kick too. This is just basically a review on the pastries. Got the cinnamon rolls and blueberry oat bar. Both were really good. What I like about the pastries is that they don't use refined sugar and use things like coconut sugar and monk fruit. They make seasonal changes to a few of the items. This was the first vegan restaurant I tried when I was still vegetarian about 7 years ago and this place remains a favorite! The beautiful restaurant is a place I always keep coming back to and I have never once had any issues with presentation, food quality; none of the sort. The servers have always been the most kind and helpful ! They always go out of their way to make the experience better. I got the nachos to share with the table but those portion sizes are insane !!! I ended up taking a lot of food to go because it was more than I expected but everything was great . We ordered about 4 plates in total and everything arrived at once it was wonderful. Our server came in with who I assume was the kitchen manager to bring our food together it was great . I ordered from this location via Door Dash. I ordered the I am wholesome, I am grounded with nacho cheese sauce and pico de gallo, and I am eclectic with extra buffalo sauce. What I received was cauliflower wings with NO sauce at all nor the extra sauce I paid for, and the potatoes came with some kind of red sauce. There were no utensils included and the only part of the order that was correct was the cake. The food was hit and miss. The queso fundido had some great chips but the cheese was so so. The kale salad was terrific and I would definitely come back for that. The pasta wasn't that good.
