There are options of trendy indoor seating with couches and tables, or al fresco seating outdoors if you want some fresh air (smoking is allowed, so the fresh isn't guaranteed). It's a useful place to catch up with someone, grab a coffee and relax. The staff are generally friendly and to the point, with the occasional exception of a staff member that still needs customer service training, but they never ruin the experience. The store is in its own building, so there is plenty of room. The only noise comes from other patrons, the whirl of the grinder and the kissing of milk from the barista (all good things). There is free WiFi access through Unwired. It's easy enough to use for casual browsing, though the wireless connection is unencrypted so I wouldn't be doing anything sensitive/confidential incase someone else is sniffing your packets (it seems paranoid, except I have seen this happen before). Like all good Gloria Jean's, the coffee is consistent with company standards. Don't come expecting great coffee, it's Gloria Jean's, though it's definitely a palatable, warm, caffeinated beverage it's the location and convenience that are the winners here.

I had some of their famous waffles which are SO DELICIOUS. The fruit is fresh and they make the waffles right there (no re-heating). I also tried a cupcake and a macron and they were yummy (it was a big day for my stomach). I also like how they've started to introduce gluten-free and dairy-free options, as some of my friends can't tolerate gluten or dairy. The interior is quirky and vintage land which makes it stand out in Penrith. Waffle Co reminds me of one of the funky and hip cafes you'd find down a back alley in Melbourne, except it's in western sydney! This place really is just a bar, so you'll have to find somewhere else to sit and eat it. That's all well and good for the non-layabout clientele this place is trying to attract! I found the soup menu quite uninspiring considering it makes up a whole half of this bar's title. They were all very homely mixtures such as tomato and sweetcorn and country vegetable, but sadly nothing very exciting. Luckily the juice menu makes up for that as I counted as many as 20 different types. Every fruit imaginable seemed to be on this board, including those rarer super-foods like acai berries! In relation to this, it seems there's a big prerogative in this place to be healthy, with helpful little stickers under certain types saying 'low fat.' If these don't satisfy you can even invent your own. I plumped for a non-stickered 'power up' juice which has soy milk, spirulina, strawberries, banana, honey and ice.
