Last night my girl friends an I came here to hang out due to one of my girls flying back to Maryland the following day. Plus of course it's Labor Day weekend and we wanted something to do. The bartender was awfully rude to us! When we first arrived I bought the first round and I'm guessing due to me not opening a tab he thought I was not going to tip him. After serving us he intentionally ignored us for the remainder of our time there! On one occasion my brother-in-law ended up showing face with some friends also for a good time. He gave me some cash to get him and his wife a drink turned over to the bar and tried to get the bartenders attention and he blatantly told me "we are not tipping him so he will get to us when he gets to us"! At first I thought he was joking when he stated that, But quite frankly I was wrong! He proceeded to serve the next person and continued to not acknowledge our presence. I don't care who you are you don't talk to anyone like that especially in a place of business, I understand you're working for money but if you don't want to work why are you there? If I'm still deciding remainder of the night I'm not gonna tip you every time I buy a drink my last drink would have been a tip! You lost $50 for being rude, so thank you for that we saved our money! read more

This is a great bar! The best part is the fenced courtyard out back. It's beautifully decorated and has a separate bar. There is always live music and plenty of great people. Aside from the weirdly angry group of old lady pool players on weekdays, this is a cool place. I wish we could play pool more often without having old biddies ask us to give up the pool table, however. Big glasses of wine and beer. And we always enjoy the music. Two members of security team physically assaulted two members of our group. Not only was there pushing and shoving, one member of the security team actually grabbed someone by the throat. They escalated to physical and verbal assault way too quickly. Luckily, other members of the security team were on-hand but only one intervened. They felt that one member of our group had too much to drink and demanded our entire party leave the premises. The treatment was totally uncalled for. The guy they thought had too much was not disruptive in any way and was happy to leave. The treatment was outrageous and they are lucky we did not press charges for assault. One member of the group we were in may still do that. read more

Great place and atmosphere. Drinks are good and bartenders are ok. A bit snotty at times. They should acknowledge their customers even if they are busy making drinks for others. There have been numerous times I just sat there waiting without any acknowledgement knowing damn well they see me there. Is providing good service a thing of the past? In DeLand visiting family, we wanted to find a local place for some drinks and my sister in law suggested this place. We LOVED it!! Great outdoor space with huge gateway doors, and lots of architectural salvage creating a fun, funky vibe. The band was great (Bath Salt Zombies- GO SEE THEM if you get a chance!) the seating was comfortable, the service was ... well, it was ok but the bar is close by so if you were ready for a round before she got back to you, it was easy enough to go get it yourself. And, the place is very dog friendly! There were several canines enjoying the band and the atmosphere- we wished we had brought one of our own pups along. Definitely will be back when we are in town again! read more

Owner there is extremely rude. We had our parents with us tonight and it was a bit chilly. We asked the owner if he could move one of his heaters that we saw outside over to our table. He responded saying "it's so hot, it's Florida" and that he is sweating and that we don't need it and walked away from us. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Best place to listen to live music in Volusia County hands down! the bands that play there are very good whether dancing or not. The staff are on point,they have security there to make sure no issues(never seen an issue)the people who go there(many locals) are very friendly. I have no problem driving 25miles to this place on weekends. If u like dancing, this place has space to dance. This place does not offer food to my knowledge, never seen anyone eating. They have an inside and an outside, but its the outside is where u want to be. All in all i look forward to coming here many times in the future. This is our favorite bar by far for the atmosphere. However, I am unable to give it 5 stars. The atmosphere is perfect and according to my fiance the craft beer selection is great. Although, I do not drink any carbonated drinks and am a wine drinker. This is where the 3 stars comes from as I have never in my life had such a poor selection of wines. I doesn't matter if you order red or white or what variety of grape the are unbearable and I have to force myself to drink them. I once was unable to even drink more than a few sips. From experience I know that there are good wines both red and white around the 10 dollar range and when buying whole sale an establishment gets a discount. So I do not know why in heavens name they choose the most disgusting wine imaginable. Another side note is that on our last visit on June 5th my fiance was also disappointed as he ordered a Guinness and it was not poured correctly. Being of Irish descent this did throw him off quite a bit as he consider it a laughing stock. It pains both of us as this bar really has all the potential. The ambiance and artsy side is right up our alley but they have work to do on their wine list and pouring skills of a proper Guinness. read more

This is by far the best live music venue and full bar establishment in all of Deland, FL. The alcohol selection is amazing including a diverse full liquor bar and awesome domestic and crafts beer selection. The staff is awesome. Anytime I have been unsure of what I have wanted to drink for the evening either Chelsea, Darby, Nicole, or Kat can create the greatest craft cocktail with the simple input of one type of alcohol. I have been coming to show here my entire college career at Stetson and have yet to be let down by the music. Dan at Cafe DaVinci books the best live music and makes sure the atmosphere is nothing less than stellar. On top of all of this, the security is awesome. I have never felt unsafe at any time I have been in this establishment. George, Ethan, Cody, and Gerald maintain a friendly, welcoming environment where I am telling all of my friends to come and enjoy the space. Overall, I absolutely love this bar. read more

went last night and a killer band selwyn birchwood blew the roof off the place !! oh wait it's in an open courtyard, my bad. love the ambience and the people this venue attracts. we had a great time. i highly recommend to anyone visiting deland or locals. One piece of advice to make a better experience would be to make the courtyard a nonsmoking area, I didn't like smelling like cigarettes and esmoke at the end of the evening. I love Cafe DaVinci!! It has been newly remodeled also and looks great! I've met most of the staff at one of my visits. Chelsea is a blast. Super adorable! Nichole has always been sweet! The plane is well kept and clean. Interesting art throughout that changes from time to time. I will say I have had one or two negative interactions with some of the staff but no one I can name. I am a paying customer and usually spend a good amount of time and money here & I do not appreciate being treated like a drunken bar girl. I was just there this past Saturday and I went inside to use the restroom. This was AFTER last call but the doors going inside were still UNLOCKED & I watched other people go in and out. I walked in with my girlfriend and who ever was counting down a till of money yells at us to: "get out!" It was very rude. I completely understand her having money out like that but then please close the door and lock it. I love this place but sometimes the service is just unnecessarily poor. You're a bartender girlie, people a little more people friendly. read more

Café DaVinci is a great scene when the weather is nice and the music is good - the outdoor space looks so cool. I've been a long-time customer - and they need to upgrade or replace some outdoor furniture (too many chairs are broken), and during the summer, most of the seats are wet (not DaVinci's fault - BUT - not a great place to go after wet weather nevertheless). The inside is only ok. Music gets loud - so if you are not a fan of music or what's playing, unless there is gorgeous weather, there are not too many more attractions. The beer selection looks great, I think - but I am not a beer drinker. They briefly tried cocktails, but that never worked well. The wine selection is very limited and pretty mediocre. I often choose NOT to go here because I'd rather drink a glass of tasty wine. Service is just fine - though one often feels like there is an "in" crowd that gets much better service. read more

Went to Davinci's for the first time last weekend with a group of friends. I was impressed as soon as I walked into the courtyard, the live music that night was good too! I pretty much was the last to leave, and unfortunately I forgot my birthday present (wind chime and wine charms) there that my friend had given me. I called the very next day when they opened and was told that they had it but the wind chime was missing a piece. Confused, I asked her how that happened and she replied in an uncaring "I don't know." I told her that I would be there the following day to pick them up. The next day I get there a few minutes after they opened. I saw the bartender, who waited on me the night I was there and also the one who I talked to on the phone about my stuff, and told her that I was the one who forgot the gift bag. The wind chime was hanging up behind the inside bar and she "could not find" the wine charms. She said she sat them on top of the half wall by the door entrance the day I had called. I told her that if they were open and there were people there then it should have been put away. She didn't seem to care, didn't say sorry, was pretty much "yeah" an I don't care attitude. I asked her where the gift bag was because I wanted to see if the missing piece to the wind chime was in it and she said she threw the bag away (which also had my birthday card in it). Why would she do that? If you find something, you keep it in the bag and put it in a safe place. She said she texted the bosses wife to see if she had seen the wine charms, I left my number for her to call me if she heard anything back. Yeah, never got a call and I am sure they were "stolen". Anyway, cool place, but I won't be going there again. I don't like to spend my money at an establishment that has employees that are not trusting. And if this seems trivial to some, then so be it, have fun. Just make sure you don't forget anything there...you won't get it back. read more
