***CASH ONLY*** Ialways like looking for new restaurants and cafes to try so I was kind of excited when I stumbled upon Cafe cup. Places tucked away in a shopping center next to a fitness place, a liquor store and an insurance company. The sign is not huge so you really do have to know it's here. When you walk up the first thing you see is the outdoor dining area which is covered tents over tables which is really nice. I'm assuming that was when covid was a thing and most people had to eat outdoors. Regardless, this place is pretty popular as they have a podium and a guest list out front. I was able to walk right in and grab a booth at the back. I'm glad I did, such a great fun place to check out and see what kind of wonders they have in store The ambiance of the restaurant is a little bit dark, but they do have lights but it feels like a very cozy dimly lit hometown Cafe/ coffee shop I settled in with a cup of coffee, and ordered the combo which was two pancakes or french toast, two slices of bacon, and two eggs. Eggs any style. Of course I had to order my glass of milk with breakfast to see if they're paying attention. They passed the glass of milk test with flying colors! The food was good, absolutely solid and what a great little place to have breakfast. The wait staff is very on point and was ready to make suggestions and offer casual conversation. The bottom line? I would definitely hit this place up again whenever I'm in Huntington Beach. You should definitely give it a go and I highly suggest the combo as the pancakes are stellar! read more

Came after seeing a review of their cinnamon rolls on TikTok. They had one left when we got there and we claimed it as ours to take home right away! Come on a Friday if you want to try their cinnamon roll pancakes. Comfy cozy cafe. Cool people who all worked together. We never went without anything we needed. Started with a caramel latte and vanilla latte. Perfect frothiness! Moved onto a fitness scramble with potatoes instead of rice with a side of English muffin- perfectly buttered and toasted btw. Side of a single buttermilk pancake and bacon. It's cool you can order singles of any of their pancakes or French toast! Also got the French toast combo. Bacon was crispy and yummy. Nothing was overly oily like some cafes. Servers pointed out their three homemade salsas as well as their maple and boisenberry syrups! All the shakers and bottles were clean and not sticky. Definitely will be back on a Friday to try their cinnamon roll pancakes!! 10/10 recommend. Reasonable prices, good portions, solid service. read more

Pretty good Eggs Benedict and the side of fruit was a good mix, not just melon like you get some places. On the server's recommendation we ordered the last cinnamon roll. Looking for a nice breakfast place. This is it. Service is good. Staff is friendly. The place isn't particularly big but they do have few tables outside so I did not have to wait. I got the ABC omelette. Inside the omelette they give u generous amount of bacon with 6 slices of avocado on top. The butter inside the toast go really well together. The potatoes taste delicious too. The only reason it doesn't get 5 star is they only take cash. Very unfortunate. Other than that, this place deserves a return trip. read more

Today was my first time enjoying breakfast here. It will definitely not be my last. The food is delicious and if you're lucky, the Cinnamon Roll Pancake will be on the menu. Important: CASH ONLY! The inside is pretty small and limited in seating, and the decor is pretty outdated (definitely not contemporary at least). It honestly reminds me of those American diners that are shown in movies where the actors get breakfast and coffee. There's also a set up outside for outdoor seating. Service is fairly quick and the portions are great! However, we asked for some jam and did not get it. This was surprising because there weren't that many tables they were serving so I'm not quite sure why our request was acknowledged and then quickly forgotten. We did not ask again and just ate plain toast. Food tastes pretty standard. I have no complaints, but also nothing really stood out to me as particularly "amazing." This spot is probably more suitable for a quick gathering or meeting. I also wish they made it more obvious that it was cash only (like when we put our names down for seating). There IS a tiny sign near the counter but that's pretty much it. Nobody tells you up front before you sit down that it's cash only. To add to this, there's a convenient ATM in the restaurant for you to pull cash out (but you'll get charged that ATM fee). If you came here for just a cup of coffee and don't have cash, you've now just pretty much doubled the cost of that coffee. For all the aforementioned, I'd give this place a solid 3 stars. read more

I've come here so many times over the last 8 years! They have great options and they cater to vegans! I was vegetarian and I always get soy chorizo dish is a bunch of different forms- burrito, bowl/plate, tacos.. it is soooo good! They have great specialty coffee here too! They are a smaller spot but if there's a wait it's a reasonable wait and worth it! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service wise- they are great! They seriously need to get an AC running inside the restaurant! I mean, I know it's HB which tends to be cooler than other parts of the state, but it's definitely not an enjoyable dining experience while you sweat your face off. Also, I ordered a specialty coffee and it burned my tongue. As in my tongue felt injured for a few days. To top it off, because there's no air ventilation & it's only one restroom for everybody. You have to wait however long the person before you takes to unload what they just ate and then get a nice waft of it every time you breathe. So gross. The food is ok and it's cash only. The servers are pleasant, but the cons outweigh their kindness unfortunately. read more

Tried a new place today and found this little hidden gem. We got their Carnitas Huevos Rancheros and their Stuffed French Toast. Let's start with the sweet. It was good but I was only able to eat two because it was a lot of cream cheese, but it was still good. Now the savory. The Carnitas Huevos Rancheros was delicious. The meat was tender, breaking the yolk on the egg made it moist, the salsa/sauce was flavorful, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly with a nice crisp/crunch. Overall loved it here. Cafe Cup is an amazing place to grab breakfast or brunch! My girlfriend and I came here on a Monday at noon and had to wait about 10-15 mins for a table (outside). The service here is amazing. My girlfriend got the chorizo omelette (super flavorful) and I ordered the combo with Banana Nut pancakes, eggs sunny side up, and bacon. They have two different syrups here -- regular and boysenberry. Both were good but I preferred the regular. They have 3 salsas on the table for you to enjoy with your food. "I try to save by cooking at home-it's fresher, healthier, and I expect respectful service when I do choose to eat out. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The owner was rude, unprofessional, and not welcoming at all. Despite ordering three meals, including two kids' plates, I was told I couldn't touch my toddler's food, even though it was paid for. The food itself was disappointing-cold, dry, and unappetizing. My toddler didn't eat, and the untouched plate should have been a clear sign that something was wrong. What made the experience slightly better was the server, Eddy. He was kind, helpful, and professional. He's clearly been dealing with a lot, and the only reason I left a tip was because of him. This place gets a zero for customer service. I won't be returning." This place is at the bottom of my list for breakfast spots. We came here on a Saturday and luckily it wasn't packed... (after my experience there, I understand why). We were sat down and the guys who took our orders were nice. It took about 15-20mins for us to get our food which wasn't too bad. It was brought over by some rude lady (who's name I didn't get) but she practically threw our plates at us & also our bill/change later on. Anyways on to the food. Full stack of chocolate chip pancakes: 4.5/10 These were probably one of the driest and most flavorless pancakes I've had. Even Denny's or iHop has better. I had to put a ton of their raspberry syrup they had in order to make it edible. There were barely any chocolate chips inside so do not call it chocolate chip pancakes because it was lacking. The presentation was nice though. My bf ordered the combo and said it was okay. It wasn't too expensive but I wouldn't come back considering it's a far drive and just overall, the worst.
