I was looking for a breakfast burrito to bring home and I drive by Achiote Grill almost everyday. It's been awhile since I've been, I used to go when my kids were going to Anderson academics. I forgot what a gem of a place this is. I was greeted by Jack ( the owner and the cook) . He recommended the most popular egg burrito in the menu- I ordered 2 without sour cream. The place is clean and has a charm to it. He cooked the burritos as I had ordered them. My boys said the burritos were 5/5- great flavor not just eggy tasting like most . They also have an extensive menu and offer tamales. With the economy being down, let's bring Jack more business. Very quaint restaurant in a very unassuming plaza, but it's definitely worth checking out. The owner is really friendly and hospitable. Food 5/5 We wanted to try the steak breakfast burrito but he said he was out, so my boyfriend subbed for carnitas and I got the ultimate and we really enjoyed them! Our total was about $23 and appreciated the side of fresh fruit and side of salsa. The salsa was a little spicy, smokey, and went well with the burritos. The fresh fruit also has a little something to it (we couldn't quite figure it out) but it was super refreshing on this hot day! I ordered a breakfast burrito through Yelp takeout and received confirmation it was ready for pickup. Upon arrival, there was an elder man working here. He said they don't use Yelp and claimed my order never came through. He gave a semi-lengthy speech about not taking online orders and finally, offered to make me the burrito. I was concerned about the wait time as I was in a rush and had my sister waiting in the car. As he started making the burrito, I asked twice how long it would take, but he just stared and asked me if I liked my eggs cooked? LOL. Then said, 3 minutes. His passive aggressiveness was super frustrating. The overall experience was disappointing. The restaurant itself looked rundown, felt unwelcoming, and the man's demeanor was unfriendly. Oh my word!!! MUST TRY!!! Just had the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito. Delicious and fresh tasting with the fresh and different tasting deep flavored delicious fresh roasted salsa. Spicy enough for me but not too spicy. The ingredients seemed to be cut small which I love, so you taste all in almost every bite. I'd read that the fresh fruit salad was good but oh Lord, it's amazing. So different, with ginger and herbs. Out of this world. I'll be craving that fruit from now on, I know. Nice little place to grab lunch. Came here the other day for the breakfast special which was decent. The tamale though was something special! I ordered this to go & ate it a day later still amazing! A little Huntington native birdie chirped to me about this place and being a hungry visitor to the area, I went with it. Two words: Deliciously healthy. Location: In an industrial section of Huntington Beach on Saturn and Gothard. Next to an Allstate office and the sign is a banner. Talk about a hidden grove!! Only native birdies know this spot. Food: The selection is large with two separate menus for breakfast and lunch/dinner so pick the right one. I got the surf and turf burrito (chicken and shrimp) and it was hot, filling, fresh, homemade and the perfect size (UK size, not US). What's surprising? A lot less salt and more flavor with the pico de gallo, avocado and lime sauce. Somehow, this all works and this migrating birdie had a happy tummy. The included salsa was definitely home made with a good kick to it. Goes great with the chips (thin and light) or as a topping with the burrito. Soooo goood and I wasn't feeling dried out like a prune because the sodium level was way down. And NOT greasy. Perfecto!! Summary: You know those local spots you find in your neighborhood that make good food at a decent price? This is one of them. A tiny place that just recently reopened with new hours, I highly recommend you visit if you get the chance. They are locally known for their breakfast burritos and you can get those all day long. Hours vary and are posted on Yelp, so the only day they open late is Friday (7pm), so check before you come here. The place is run by two guys ( Englishman and an Iranian) and they do a stellar job if you're looking for a place with a healthier version of burritos. Granted not everything is healthy, but better than what you can get elsewhere besides home. Locals love them and I can see why. The guys here take care of their customers. I was completely satisfied with the burrito I had which also satified the healthy eating demoness in me. I had no issues with the service as some reviewers complained about it. They also offer enchiladas,salads, fajitas, wraps and tacos too. Yes, they can be made kid friendly. Oh, and they serve beer and adult drinks. Wow, driven past this hidden YUM for years and never stopped, will be stopping often now! 5/4/21 for an early lunch, looked at the menu and had no clue as so much looked good. I asked and the man working suggested the "The outer Banks" Yellowfin Tuna In house smoked ahi, Gouda cheese, cranberries, mayo, red onion, tarragon cilantro lime sauce. This place is incredible. The owners are incredibly hospitable but also love to have fun and are constantly cracking jokes. The food is seriously insane. I got the Ragin' Cajun Shrimp breakfast burrito and I highly recommend it. It was honestly one of if not the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Was so upset my favorite place for gluten friendly fresh breakfast wraps started premaking their wraps & using microwave I walked out & found this AMAZING fresh made to order family owned LOCAL place. Greeted by jolly cook told him my story and he immediately offered to create me a custom breakfast with some spice! Got some egg,avocado,spinach, cheese tacos and fresh fruit. The GOOD fruit with berries! Iced coffee w/homemade creamer. Where have you been all my life?? It's not in an area that has restaurants so it's overlooked but I'm going to be a regular now.
