I took my bride here for our anniversary last night and it was wonderful. Located next to the Bungalow in Pacific City, it was our first visit here. Easy to park in their lot and it was free with validation. Six or so tables along the glass on the patio, and another 4-6 in the dining room, make this a wonderful pace for dinner, apps or drinks while watching a sunset. Mia at the front desk made sure we had a great seat. Phil was our waiter and he took great care of us all evening. A delicious paloma martini got us started and we loved the spicy tuna tartare tacos. The short ribs with pineapple cheesy risotto was yummy and my wife loved the salmon and mashed potatoes. Huge portions and the price was not crazy. Pretty quiet on the patio aside from a few loud motorcycles along PCH. The dining room was a bit louder with the piped in music but too loud in there. We will definitely be back. I'm really disappointed to have to update my review after our latest experience at The Brant. Unfortunately, the lack of hospitality we experienced this time was incredibly disappointing from the moment we arrived. We brought my stepdad, who was in a wheelchair, and when we entered, there were two young women working at the front. Despite clearly seeing us trying to navigate the entrance with his wheelchair, neither offered to help with the door. We literally had to ask them to assist us. Something as simple as holding the door for a guest in a wheelchair should be basic hospitality and common courtesy. Unfortunately, the experience did not improve once we sat down at the bar. Our bartender, Viviana/Vidiana, essentially ignored us. My stepdad ordered a glass of Chardonnay, and she clearly heard his order. Rather than acknowledging him or getting his drink, she continued talking to another couple at the bar about how she couldn't wait to be off work. She then walked away, said something quietly to the bartender coming on shift about my stepdad wanting a Chardonnay, grabbed her purse, and left. There was no "Someone else will be taking care of you," no acknowledgment of his order, no goodbye -- nothing. It honestly came across as incredibly rude and dismissive. What bothered me most wasn't having to wait for a glass of wine; it was the complete lack of warmth, attentiveness, and basic hospitality throughout the experience. When you are bringing a family member who uses a wheelchair somewhere, you already have additional things to navigate. Having staff make you feel like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests makes the experience that much worse. We have enjoyed The Brant before, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. Hospitality is about making people feel welcome and cared for, and unfortunately, that was completely missing during our latest visit. read more

My girlfriend and I brought her mom here for her birthday. She loves the beach, and The Brant definitely fit the bill. The restaurant is located upstairs at the Pacific City shopping mall on PCH and has an excellent view of the Huntington Beach coastline. There is plenty of parking in the underground garage, and the restaurant will validate parking for two hours. Reservations can be made on OpenTable. There are two dining areas facing the beach, one with an open air covered area, and one completely inside with floor to ceiling windows. We wanted to enjoy the fresh air, and were seated on the open air patio, right against the front overlooking PCH. They also have a bar area inside. The ladies had the mocktail versions of the pineapple guava margarita and Life is Peachy ($9 each) and enjoyed them. I just had an iced tea which was constantly topped off. I had the pan seared halibut ($42) with broccolini and requested asparagus instead of the default second side of potatoes. The halibut was cooked perfectly with almond slices and cubed tomato on top. The lemon caper butter sauce was sooooooo good, and there was a lot of it to dip the fish and veggies in. The veggies were slightly overcooked, but were still very good, especially with the sauce. Both ladies had the grilled salmon ($32). My girlfriend requested a side salad with blue cheese and the pineapple risotto instead of the default brussel sprouts. Both entrees were enjoyed. We appreciated the manager bringing the birthday girl a complementary Brookie (baked brownie & cookie mix, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce) which we all shared. Came to Huntington Beach and was looking for a restaurant with the beach view. I didn't have to go very far before finding The Brant. It's located within the mall in Huntington Beach on the second floor. The food was so perfect for brunch and the staff was friendly and helpful too. The menu has a lot of options and I believe the Portmans are pretty good size. My mom and I shared this sickening and we're still satisfied. Papi that the beach view so beautiful and such a nice thing to look at while we enjoyed our brunch. From the moment we sat down overlooking the beach, watching the bonfires flicker along the shore and taking in that smell of firewood in the air, I knew it was going to be a good night. Mules are my drink of choice and the Strawberry Basil Mule here is always my first order and never disappoints. The Pineapple Guava Margarita is equally solid and worth every sip. The food was quality all around. The Crispy Broccolini was done right, crispy but not overdone, which I appreciate. The Prime Rib Dip had a jus that was rich and full of flavor, and the Chopped Caesar with pancetta was the perfect complement to the meal. Only gripe is the portions are small for what you're paying, but that comes with the Huntington Beach territory. Now as a pastry chef, I have to talk dessert. The Brookie Cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce was the perfect way to end the night. Absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this spot, especially for brunch and mimosas. We were very late from coming from a spa that was about 20 minutes away that started late so I truly appreciate the hostess communication and understanding. It was my first time here, and I came to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was above and beyond. Our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure everyone at our table was taken care of. I have food allergies, and he took them very seriously. He double-checked with the kitchen to make sure my meal was safe, removed anything I couldn't have, and even gave me some great recommendations. That level of care meant a lot to me. We were a pretty large party, and somehow every single order came out exactly as requested. There were no mix-ups, nothing was forgotten, and our waters were constantly being refilled without us even having to ask. Our waiter was truly on top of everything. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the steak cooked medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. The Brandt was such a great experience. The inside has an upscale beachy vibe with a beautiful view if you are near the window seating although much of the dining room has that view since they are second story. The cocktails were fabulous and had some unique twists that I really enjoyed. The lychee martini was amazing and i'm bummed it's only a drink of the month for them. The short ribs were super flavorful and served on a pineapple risotto that so unique and tasty. The french dip was also very good, always a nice classic and the halibut was a good dish but a little small on the fish serving. Our service was great and fairly quick. The views from are unbeatable, but the food is a hit-or-miss experience. On the positive side, the artichoke appetizer was good, and the french fries that came with my meal were perfectly crispy. However, the actual burger was a big disappointment, it arrived completely cold and very dry. Combined with mediocre service, I won't be returning here for a full dinner. Came here based on a Yelper who said this is one of her fav restaurants and made reservations on New Years because I was jonesing for a good burger. Forgot I had been here before a year ago but never yelped them because I only stopped in for a drink. I didn't know this place has a view along PCH. You don't see it until you walk in further to the dining area. There are 3 tables that are against the windows where you can get a nice view of the sunset, and PCH. We ordered burger with shoestring fries, and he ordered the salmon that comes with garlic mash and Brussel sprouts but subbed it out for broccolini. Our server didn't tell us about the specials or anything really, but the next table that came in got a gentleman who was talky and we heard about the chef, the cuisine and specials, which might have swayed my man's order if he had known, to the pork chop. Oh well. Food came out good and we enjoyed our evening. We had to ask our server about validated parking. She was nice but not very helpful as far as servers go. I like me a good clam chowder but they serve it Manhattan style here, which I am not a fan of. The peachy drink we had was really good though. Aside from the burger I ordered I don't know how I'd feel about coming back. This place is really close to Watertable inside the Sheraton and in my estimation, that was a better experience with better menu selection than what I saw here. read more

The Brant is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is consistently great, the views are spectacular, and when you order right, the food is delicious. Out of all my visits, there have only been a couple of items I wouldn't recommend otherwise, it's a solid spot for both lunch and dinner. My go-to favorites are the pretzel board, the half chicken with mashed potatoes (sub broccolini), the burgers, and the Spicy Tuna Tartare Tacos. All are reliable and well executed. That said, the prime rib dip was mid, the salmon was overly fishy, and the Manhattan-style clam chowder was downright awful easily the most foul-smelling and worst-tasting soup I've ever had. Overall, if you order correctly, this place is amazing. They also offer vegetarian options, which makes it an easy choice for family dinners, especially since my dad is a vegetarian. read more

Went in with the kids for an early dinner, it was fantastic! Had the salmon plate and the salmon was cooked perfectly in a flavorful creamy lemony butter sauce. The kids had the bbq ribs and loved them. The sautéed corn that came with the ribs was to die for. Also had the chicken Caesar salad and my daughter loved it. Love that the kids food came with fries AND fruit. We were all very happy. The view was pretty epic as well. Ryan was our server and he was on it, we felt so well cared for. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. I will say the service was good and the server offered recommendations which was helpful however the food was less than thrilling. We ordered several dishes and my friends all said their food was quite salty especially the crispy chicken wings which my friends hardly ate. The birthday girl had the halibut which she enjoyed and her entree was the one that was the least salty. I had the boneless short ribs which I enjoyed. We stopped in the Saturday after Thanksgiving with zero reservations and were seated right away, holiday miracle! Valet was only $10 and the valet guy was honestly one of the nicest humans ever. The restaurant is upstairs, so once you get up there you're greeted with gorgeous ocean views. Since it was an absolutely beautiful day, we sat outside and it was perfect. The menu has a little bit of everything, but we kept it light with salads... although we had to try their $10 cinnamon roll. It's small (maybe 4-5 bites), but wow, packed with cinnamon, warm, and homemade deliciousness. Totally worth the splurge. I was looking for the restaurant bar which I can watch the baseball game (post season LA Dodgers game) near the hotel during my husband's business dinner. I didn't care alone but I cared safe and good wine place. Using Yelp and I could find this place very close my hotel. When I got here a little busy but I found the seat at the bar counter. The game already started so I was in a rush to have seat and order. Inside the bar counter there were two bartenders and both were friendly and nice. Had such a lovely experience at the Brand this past Saturday. We walked in and were seated immediately in a covered patio facing the beach. Our server was very efficient. I didn't get his name, but he was a younger white male with a mullet. The food was absolutely delicious . The buffalo wings were so crispy and tasty. I didn't expect the wings to be covered in a dry rub but it was magical. I think I will order this all for myself next time. They were finger licking good! The artichoke hearts we're good, but felt a little bland after having the buffalo wings. They were served with a really delicious aïoli. The prime rib dip was also really good. It's located inside the Pacific City Plaza and it's pretty quiet during the brunch hours as we were able to snag a last minute reservation the day of. We also scored bonus points by sitting in the ocean view. Asparagus fries (5/5): It's not tempura, but more similar to the batter of fish and chips. I thought this was the perfect appetizer. Some healthy food although it was deep fried. The batter shield the asparagus to perfection as it provided a great crunch to the soft asparagus. Spicy Tuna tartare tacos (4/5): Comes with 2 pieces and each piece is placed on a scoop of guacamole. Although it tasted great, not worth the price finishing in one bite. Manhattan Seafood Style Chowder (3/5): do not expect this to be the chunky chowder. It tasted almost similar to a minestrone soup, but with more seafood. It was heart but nothing too special. Seared Ahi Salad (5/5): this was my first time ordering a salad in a while and I did not expect it to satisfy me. There was plenty of seared ahi and the salad was tangy and plentiful. I came here with a group from work and the service was quick and friendly. We ordered a handful of appetizers which were all good. Some little tuna tacos, Brussels sprouts, and smoked salmon. I ordered the halibut dish and it was great the sear was perfect, and it tasted great. The highlight was honestly the broccoli that came with it. Make sure to ask for your parking to be validated. The chowder is Manhattan style and very thin. If you want something light, this will work. Small menu which isbrealky nice not overwhelming. The day we went was a pretty hot day. I was sweating waiting for my drinks and food. The poor servers tried to make the situation light but the over 90 minutes we spent there was pretty uncomfortable. The food was ok but the atmosphere and view was nice. I suspect itbwiuld be even more pleasant if it wasn't so hot. The menu easy and simple but nothing to brag about. The bottomless mimosas was great to find the location though was kind of difficult to find we parked in the structure and when we went up the escalator we got turned around.
