TL;DR - A nice chilled place for coffee and food in Ancoats.
If you're in Ancoats, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to places to eat and drink, but personally Café Cotton is our favourite. It might not have the hipster cachet of some other local coffee shops but we love it.
Based in Hallé St Peters, the building has been lovingly restored and the interior is a great mix of clean modern design which also highlights some of the older parts of the building. It's spacious, light and airy which gives the whole place a calm and peaceful vibe. During the pandemic, indoor seating was restricted but there's also some seating outside overlooking Cutting Room Square, which is great for people watching.
There's a good mixture of food and drink on offer - order at the counter, and anything which takes a while will get brought over to you. Prices are reasonable, and despite all this there always seems to be plenty of seating available. Why bother walking over to Pollen, only to find it's full when you can come here and have a wonderful time instead? read more
