    Bistec de Palomilla
    Elly H.

I ordered the Bistec de Palomilla and it was delicious. The flavor was so good, the green sauce paired well with the beef and onions. I'm a big fan of onions so I loved that some were added to the dish. My friend had a sandwich and she loved her food as well. The server was attentive and the restaurant was surprisingly not as busy for a late Friday afternoon. I'll be coming back here for sure! There is plenty of free parking on the side of the building which is a plus for Seattle! The restrooms were clean. If you're looking for authentic Cuban food you definitely need to check out the restaurant!

As a Cuban, and someone who cooks this style of food, I had to stop by. It's not often you come across a Cuban restaurant while traveling. I ordered the Ropa Vieja and was pleasantly surprised by how authentic it was. You could really taste the wine and tomatoes used to marinate the flank steak. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. For me, the true test of a good Cuban spot is the black beans...and this place nailed it. Perfectly seasoned, rich, and balanced. In fact, nothing on the plate needed extra salt. The plantains were also on point: plump, sweet, and properly ripened, unlike other places that serve them too firm or underripe. The only thing missing was the selection of authentic Cuban drinks: Malta Hatuey, Materva, Jupina, Ironbeer. Can't wait to come back!

This is a truly authentic Cuban restaurant with really nice staff. A big restaurant on one side and a classy bar on the other. I'm on the hunt for that perfect Cuban sandwich in the area and while it wasn't my favorite, it was the most authentic in flavor and style, so I would highly recommend it.

The food is delicious. I do think that it is a bit overpriced for the lunch portions and for what the food is. Most Latin food doesn't cost half as much as places charge for it, but it's hard to find good Cuban food here. I do prefer cafe con leche over any 'Cuban fusion' place in the Seattle area. I did take out and my order was prepared pretty quickly.

Hands down the best Cubano I've ever had. Stopped here on whim from antiquing. My god, I will have to make a trip to try everything else on this menu. Service: fantastic, the staff were friendly and keen on giving their recommendations. Food: Cubano: Crunchy fresh bread, moist and succulent meat(s). Not going to lie, every bite was pure happiness. Beef empanadas: perfectly seasoned and top it with that homemade chimichurri sauce. I don't normally rave about fries, but these were awesome with that dipping sauce Ambiance: it's a relaxed atmosphere, quiet and peaceful. I went there at an odd hour, not a lot of people but the establishment can fit a large gathering Come check them out!

Pros: nice waitstaff, empanadas, easy parking, fun Cuban music, decent prices. Cons: fries - regular and yuca, a little slow despite not seeming busy. See photo captions for food breakdown. Summary: might go back if I'm the area but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Our service was quite great. We popped in for a snack while waiting for a wedding to start that we are attending. The music and vibe is great. They were doing sound check for the club, but it wasn't bothersome. The sauce that comes with the plantain is very good and the rice and beans were great.

Highly recommend ordering Churrasco Timbero$24.67 (10oz) Grilled skirt steak served with moros and maduros!! The sauce that goes with the steak is delicious. The whole plate is phenomenal! Kinda pricey but worth trying, you might come back! The steak is also tender, easy to cut and eat.

Had Cubano sandwich. Cafe con leche. Muy bien. Sandwich was classic Cuban, pulled pork, ham, cheese, pickles and mustard. Very tasty, big sandwich. Coffee was good. Not fast food, if in a hurry go elsewhere but the server lady was very nice and friendly. If in mood for Cuban, seems like a solid choice.

If you are ever craving Cuban food, Cafe Con Leche is where you need to go! I love Cuban food and I just remember eating all the delicious Cuban food when we visited Miami and I can't believe we didn't try this place until now! Their Pan con lechon sandwich is so good and flavorful and the bread soft yet crispy and chewy! The cilantro aioli is so yummy!! Also the steak dish with the side of chimichurri sauceeeee -- sooo good! The rice was so flavorful too! I loved their empanadas as well. So basically loved all the dishes we tried! Definitely can't wait to go back!

I have been driving by this place for a few years to and from work and finally made it in. The staff was super friendly and gave me a water while I waited for the to go order I placed. The cubano is a MUST, it's perfect and so delicious! The tostones were also delicious! They came with Pedro's Green Sauce which is a cilantro aioli and this stuff alone I want to put on everything! My only reason for 4 stars is I ordered my spouse a Cuban bowl and they forgot the black beans which are pretty crucial to a Cuban bowl.

I get random cravings for Cuban food (you know...the plantains, beans, rice, pork kind of cravings) and Cafe con Leche definitely hit the spot! When I went, I ordered the Puerco asado, empanadas, and yucca frita. The puerco asado was served with rice, beans, plantains, shredded onions, and tomatoes and it definitely satisfied my Cuban food cravings! I'm rarely out in the SoDo area so I was a bit nervous navigating around there. Fortunately, Cafe con Leche is pretty visible from the street, and there was a good amount of street parking immediately by the restaurant. Do keep an eye out for time limits and payments. I was a bit confused when I walked in because to the right there was some sort of night club, but we were helped right away, and the wait staff was super friendly. If you're around SoDo and want some good Cuban food, I would definitely give Cafe con Leche a visit!

This is THE spot to come before Mariners games or nearby concerts and nobody can convince me otherwise. I've tried them several times in the past and now have my dad hooked as well. Their signature Caribbean Roast sandwich is absolutely phenomenal and I have the hardest time ordering anything else when I'm here. I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork. I will say that the sandwich version is MESSY so don't wear white, and also just be mindful if you have plans after. This year, my dad decided to order a pre-seasoned and smoked turkey from Paseo and my GODDD it was good! We made a gravy from the drippings as well which turned out so good too. We also get their street corn that was said to serve 4-6 but it was generous and we had leftovers. Absolutely a MUST try, 10/10 no notes. There's a reason they have received so much love over the years - no questions, no notes, JUST GO TRY THEM PLEASE.

The indoor space is really cute, but I was confused as to why everything was blocked off and restricted to takeout only. I ordered the famous Caribbean Roast sandwich and a side of rice and beans, which came to a little less than $30. While it's a good sandwich, it felt a bit heavy; I really found myself looking for more acid to cut through the fat and grease. I'm glad I was sharing with Jenny because it's quite a lot for one person. I also noticed toward the end that the bread was burnt. Overall, it's a solid sandwich, but between the stomach issues and the char, I'm not sure I'd go back.

It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

The pricing is pretty good for rice bowls (probably an underrated order, though slightly smaller portions to the sandwich). I got the seafood in red sauce and got the scallops, which was priced at $10.75 for a satisfying meal - not too big but not too small. Hard to find seafood dishes at this price point so I appreciate it being fairly accessible in price. The red sauce is like a Cajun like sauce but not spicy - it is very flavorful. The pickled cabbage adds a bit of tang to the dish to accentuate the flavors of the other ingredients. I tried a bite of my friend's fish of the day (Mahi mahi) sandwich which has similar fixings to the Caribbean pork sandwich - always love their garlic aioli and caramelized onions. As typical, their sandwiches are very juicy so definitely get your hands messy or try your best eating it with utensils. As someone that enjoys to not get my hands dirty, I'd still recommend using your hands to savor all the flavors evenly in the sandwich! The only bad thing is how messy it is which just means its not a first date place but if you can get passed that then it is 100% worth it. The line can get pretty long but it goes pretty quickly so the wait is never too bad. They have two benches for seating that could probably fit 12 people each so sometimes it gets full but they are easy to take on the go and with golden gardens right there it is a good spot to grab on the way. The atmosphere is nice as well. The color and lighting gives the tropical feel it was going for especially at night. The only thing I wish was a little different is the seating which would be super nice if it was a bit more open and had a verity of seating but its a small gripe for a great place. Parking is pretty reasonable since north of it doesnt fill up too quickly but its still seattle so im sure that depends on the day.
