I guess everyone is entitaled to there own opinion. While the food was very good, the atmonphere is horrible. It is dark and dingy with no windows. it is basically a basement. Our service was horribe, The tables are tiny and she failed to remove our dishes so many times there was no rood for our food. We also were not served bread as I noticed every table had bread but us--I had to ask for it. I would not return even though the food was good. read more

It's a cozy place with nice atmosphere, with the plus of a vegetarian menu. Unfortunately, the two vegetarian pasta dishes we ordered were soggy - it seemed like the cook couldn't be bothered with properly draining the pasta. Food is creative and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The butternut squash soup and grilled portabella mushrooms were very tasty. The butterfly tofu was very flavorful and nice portion size. The saffron penne portion size was good, but bland. I liked it, but would not reorder it in the future. There are 2 sitting areas, one more modern and well lit; the other section was drab and needed updating. Would suggest this restuarant to a friend looking for good, creative food. Took home the Energy soup which a friend recommended. Looking forward to trying it. read more

Ummm---where to begin? It just was not good food. The restaurant itself is cute, (ps: you would never find it unless you knew it was there...) but food, not so much. I had no idea that they were affiliated with Patagonia in Richboro, and I have eaten there before with less-than-stellar results. Anyway, the menu was decently-sized, and they also had a specials menu which we both ordered from. We both ended up ordering pasta dishes which were kind of mediocre--like you could have probably made it at home if you really didn't know how to cook? I think we'd give it one more shot for lunch just to see how it goes--ps: it might have been his first day or something, but our waiter never offered us coffee or dessert, which has never happened to me ever. He came, took our plates, and asked if we wanted the check...and we totally would have had coffee. So we felt a little rushed out even thought there was pretty much nobody there--so we went to ZSW and got ice cream instead. All's well that end's well! read more

We enjoyed a lovely lunch today. I have to say it has been quite sometime since we have been here and that has been my mistake. Because the food and and service that we experienced today was outstanding. We had the chimi sandwich and the salmon sandwich. First let me start with the bread. The bread was comparable to the fresh baked breads that I enjoyed growing up as a child from the Italian bakeries in the Italian market section of Philadelphia. The flavors of the sandwiches tantalized our taste buds! I had a bit of a diabetic moment and Ellen came to my rescue with a huge piece of carrot cake. This carrot cake was the best that I have ever eaten! The buttercream icing was out of this world! Sadly you have ruined me ever enjoying a piece of carrot cake anyplace else. They also have an amazing vegan menu. So I definitely recommend that you give them a try, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. And don't forget to try the carrot cake. read more

Cafe Con Leche is a great small treasure in Newtown. Their menu is different that the typical American fare that is all over State Street. I have been to Cafe Con Leche approximately six times, and have never had a bad experience. The service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Once, they even offered me a taste of their signature jalapeno sweet potato soup when I expressed interest but didn't know if I wanted to commit to ordering. I'm happy they did, it was delicious, I'd order it every time they have it. Other standouts that I've had are the mushroom and roasted red peppers appetizer (super delicious with the balsamic drizzle), and also any of their fajitas are above all other fajitas I've had out. Recently I ordered off their new green tea vegan menu - I had the vegetable pad thai, it was amazing. Quite the variety of veggies, and the peanut sauce was on point. Big portion. Husband has a bbq pulled seitan - he enjoyed it. I should note that I've only come on week nights and Sunday lunch, so I've never seem to hit the "busy rush" that most reviews are talking about. I'd give them an extra bonus for being a BYOB. Some of their prices are a little high, but I'd consider this to definitely be a place worth giving a chance. read more

We've been here several times over the past 3 or 4 years- we used to LOVE to go for their duck and they're well known for their soup. Last night we went and had seriously the worst chicken we've ever eaten out. It was tough and dry in both the Chicken Marsala (which didn't seem to have any Marsala wine in it at all) and in the Mediteranian Pasta. The service was slow, there were only two other couples there when we arrive and only one came in after us. This place used to be packed any time we went. The server also told us they cut a lot of things from the menu when we asked why the duck was no longer offered. We skipped dessert... that chicken really turned us off... we won't be going back, there are too many other small restaurants to try in the area and the food is MUCH to expensive for the experience. Hadn't been here in quite some time. We always enjoyed their food. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw they changed the decor a bit and updated their menu. I was very excited about the vegan options and couldn't wait to try. I'm sorry to say it was a huge MISS for me. I got the seitan sandwich, it was SO over salted that I could barely eat half. The server explained that they marinate it in a soy sauce based marinade. I couldn't tell you if it had nice flavor otherwise because of the overwhelming saltiness. My husband got the black bean burger special. Nothing special about it. It too was salty and just odd in the way it was served. Almost appeared as a black bean dip. Our daughters pasta was the only decent thing we ordered. Simple marinara and pene. Oh and we did get the sweet potato soup which was good as usual. We've always liked their soups. read more

Loved this place for lunch. Had the spring mix salad with blackened salmon. The fish was so tasty and flavored to perfection. The dressing is wonderful and they sell it by the bottle. It is a hidden surprise. The scenery is very plain with plastic tablecloths with leaves on them but the quality and taste of the food make up for the lack of decor. The staff is so caring and even returned money when they noticed I gave a $20 bill instead of a $10 and returned it. Honest and sweet!! I can't say enough great things about this place. The words hidden treasure are used way too much, they should be reserved for places like this. Its a family owned and if you eat their a few times you become part of it. You never risk having a bad meal or bad server at this place; which makes it a great option for entertaining. The lunch menu is great; and the dinner specials are worth every penny. The pasta diablo is PACKED with seafood.... most restaurants count every mussel- not here. read more

My husband and I went in a few months ago for the first time because we had a groupon. Food was amazing, service not so great. Thankfully we decided to go in again and had a cute young girl named Ashley. We actually asked her name because she was so nice. If it was not for her and her bubbly personality I do not think we would have returned. We have been there 2 times after that second time and thankfully both times had her! The food is absolutely amazing and with her great service I would recommend everyone to go. The menu has a large selection and each time we have gone we have gotten something different and each time have been delighted. The tuna, lobster ravioli, and seafood medley were our favorites at first and then the owner, Daniel, added on a few more specials which were spectacular. It is a MUST SEE. I went there on Sat. with my son and his wife. It is a cute little place, and best to find from the back parking lot. The food was good. My son and I loved the butternut apple soup--I will return to get more or try one of the others. Kate our waitress was friendly and even let me try a taste of a few sauces before choosing. I had the duck special and the plum sauce was so good. My son loved the mashed potatoes. I want to try some salads next time too as they looked great, and I heard the vegan menu is very good from a vegan friend. It is a byob, so I think it is nice that we could bring our own wine. The food here is terrific. However, my daughter suffered a severe allergic reaction after eating the bruschetta because it was made with pesto which contained walnuts. The menu only listed tomato, onion, and basil as the ingredients, which is a traditional bruschetta, not a pesto bruschetta. The real problem came with the reaction of the chef/owner when she called him from the hospital the next morning (yes, she had to be admitted to the hospital overnight). When she called, she wasn't asking for anything; she just told him that she wanted him to know so that perhaps he could list the ingredients and avoid this happening to someone else. His response was that it was her responsibility to ask the server, not his to list every single ingredient. He never apologized or showed any concern at all. We won't be eatng here or at his other restaurant, Patagonia, ever again which is a shame because we always enjoyed it there. read more

Ordered some vegan cheesesteaks for pick up the other day and saw they didn't have he cashew cream sauce on them. When I went back in to get some on the side, they kept on trying to tell me it was on the sandwiches (which I had in front of them and offered for them to check themselves.) After they came out with two small souflee cups of sauce and refused to give me anymore because "it was frozen," they finally gave the excuse that the cream sauce is actually "sautéed into the contents." So much so that its no longer there when it's on the sandwich! I wouldn't normally post a negative review, but the fact that they kept on trying to tell me I was wrong when the evidence was right in front of them was very annoying. Perhaps it is true that they cook the cashew sauce into the contents, which then turns it into nothing more than seasoning and is not a "cashew cream sauce." Anyway, long story short, if you want a mediocre vegan cheesesteak with no cheese, then this place is for you. read more
