I loved everything about this place. The service, the food, the good vibes, and the awesome piano man! Definitely will come back!

Good place for restaurant week. The food was awesome especially the 3 course meal. Their severs paid a lot of attention to us. I would come again any day anytime. I was here with co workers. We all enjoyed it read more

Service - not the best. Everyone seems very confused. Appetizer came after the meal. Food - not very flavorful. Potatoes were oily and not even crispy. Got to have hash browns, missing on the menu. Ambience - decent. Live piano too loud. Had to scream talking to other person. read more

Let me preface my review with an extremely important note: The lunch menu listed on the website for HRW is inaccurate. I chose this place to eat lunch here for HRW based on the menu online and was extremely disappointed that some of the items listed were not on the menu when my friends and I popped in for lunch. The appetizer and the dessert I had planned to order were not on the real menu. From the HRW menu, I chose dishes that appear on their regular menu. I figured that they should know how to make those items well since it is on their regular menu and they must be proud of that dish to put it on the HRW menu. I started off with the mussel appetizer, then the lamb shank as my entree, and the chocolate decadence and baklava for dessert. The mussels were the highlight of the lunch. The sauce that they came swimming in was so good, I actually took a spoon to slowly sip on it after I had finished the mussels and was waiting for my entree. When the entree got here, I was pretty excited since the portion was pretty generous; however, my excitement was short lived. The lamb shank was bland. The mashed potatoes were actually better than the lamb shank. Moving onto the most important course, I was a bit confused when the dessert dish came out because I thought that water had somehow gotten onto my plate. The server explained that the water was actually syrup for the baklava. I wished they had served the desserts on the plate with a divider because the syrup had the same consistency as water and was running around all over my plate and getting all over my chocolate decadence as well. First impression of the dessert was that they were tiny. The baklava was flaky and delicious. I would definitely order that one again. I would avoid the chocolate decadence just because it came out cold even though it's suppose to be a warm cake. It appears that this place has complimentary bread, and I was disappointed that we didn't get any. I'm not sure if it was because we were ordering from the HRW menu. read more

Visiting Houston, went here Friday night and really enjoyed it. Husband had the lamb shank with hummus and pita and Greek salad. I had the chicken piccata, which was hands down the BEST I've ever had, and I've had quite a few. My husband's lamb was incredibly tender. He felt it was a little lacking in flavor, but he still thought it was good and thought the hummus was the best he'd ever tried. If you're used to hurried, turn-n-burn-style service, it'll be a bit of a shock to the system. It runs at a little bit slower pace, but not in a bad way, just in that way that says, "Hey, come in, stay awhile and let us serve you some delicious and freshly-cooked food." read more

I went because I was looking for a brunch place as a place to catch up with a friend, and heard about this place from my sister. I liked the setup of the place although the front door wasn't immediately visible from where we parked, so we went to the back door first before finding the front door. There are some window views that give good light to the restaurant and it has a nice ambience - not dressy or fancy. When we went, it was around 10:45AM on a Saturday and it wasn't too packed. I thought the service and the food were really good, and not your genero-tasting brunch. I ordered a la carte waffles and potatoes with some fruit. They didn't have waffles so I had pancakes instead. That plus some OJ cost around $11. I would definitely recommend the place for a casual, laid back brunch venue in that area. read more

My friend and I went here for brunch with high hopes. We even made reservations just in case. At first, our waiter was very attentive and constantly coming around but it was clear as more parties started arriving at the restaurant our server barely then came over to our table. He wasn't a friendly waiter either. My friend's food was reheated in the microwave and undercooked. Her eggs were very rubbery and her potatoes were soggy. Mine was over sauced and potatoes were soggy. We were very disappointed and needless to say we will not return here again. read more

Very nice resturaunt! Happy hour is great too! Staff is always nice. And they allow dogs on the patio

This was probably the WORST restaurant experience I've had in a long time. The quality of service was nearly as poor as the quality of food- a ham omelet containing probably 30-40% of connective tissue. We asked the waiter for ketchup for our potatoes, the waiter did not come up until after we got up to leave after paying the check. It was not a busy Saturday. Overpriced, poor service, and barely edible food. Trust me - don't go. read more

Went for brunch on a Saturday. The ambience is nice. The waitress was very attentive. The food was tasty. Very decent pricing. It doesn't look so appealing from the outside, but once you walk in the place is lovely. :) read more

Only an "ok" experience for us. Starting with the food, then atmosphere and finishing up with service... We tried the Lobster Bisque (good), Grilled Salmon (good), Capallini al Fruitti di Mare (good), Chicken Fettucini Alfedo (chicken was really over done), and the North African Cous Cous (something was "off" with the sausage). Our friends who took us here swear by the breakfast, so I think that if we come back it will not be for dinner but rather for breakfast. The ambiance was nice with the restaurant full for the standard dining hours. The clientele was older, at least on the night we went. We remarked that we didn't see any young families. Dress code isn't completely casual, but it isn't too formal either. Corporate casual would be fine. The service was pretty bad however. Dinners were brought out at different times, water was scarce and we had to bus our own table as empty drink glasses, unused bread dishes, an empty bread platter, a plate for dipping oil for the bread, and empty dinner plates consumed our small table. We didn't have enough room for coffee and a dessert, of which no one asked us if we wanted either 30 mins after we had the plates removed. After waiting so long, we asked one of the owners to bring us a dessert menu but I think that some of us were done waiting so we flagged someone else down for a check and decided to call it a night. read more

oh my goodness. Houston Restaurant weeks 2013 at this restaurant is such a steal! $35 for dinner (excluding alcohol and tip/tax) but still... their menu is tantalizing for meat and seafood lover's alike! For starters, their mussels are full flavored, juicy, plump, "garlicky" buttery creations. I would have used the warm, fresh, bread to soak up all the garlic butter but oh wait, they serve your bread with housemade garlic butter so there's no need! :) The seafood platter was my choice of entree. This included half of a lobster tail, 2 sea diver scallops (these were gigantic about an inch or inch and a half thick) and jumbo shrimp/prawns served on a bed of ...cous cous? I can't remember, but it was alll sooo good and super filling. I couldn't even finish my lobster tail and had to pass it onto a friend of mine to finish for me. The Veal Osso Bucco was also incredibly delicious. The gravy or juice that is served with this is so savory and hearty. The meat is fork tender, and served on the bone atop a bed of...noodles? Some sort of starch but it's GOOD. Then for dessert, everyone at the table ordered the bananas foster crepe served with vanilla ice cream. It was on point. Sweet Paris Creperie should take some notes. Next time I'll order the brandy dessert, it's like a chocolate milkshake with brandy which sounds like a really good alcoholic milkshake. :) Hurry up and come to HRW at Cafe Benedicte before it's over. Be sure to make a reservation though, as the restaurant gets pretty packed at night and the parking lot is small/ shared with other vendors. Oh! And valet is complimentary but if you don't want to valet you can self park in the parking lot. read more

It's a nice little restaurant for breakfast/brunch/lunch... but it's not my favorite.

Spectacular. I had the shrimp and steak kabob. The staff was great and the prices are good as well. I highly recommed this place. Great for groups as well. read more

My boyfriend and I came here radomly on a Sunday. It wasn't very far from the house and wasn't too busy when we got there. Inside, the decor was pretty. I felt like I was somwhere else with the window coverings. The food was very good, my boyfriend had salmon benedicte and I got some meatlovers dish, both good choices .The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back! read more

I've been here twice. Both times, the food was good, but nothing fabulous. The interior is very nice - decorated well, tables kept clean, good spacing between tables, etc. The service is great. Each time, the restaurant was full and we got one of the few available tables left, and we often notice that the parking lot on their end of the complex is pretty full, so it is a popular place. read more

Some friends and I went here for Restaurant Weeks lunch. I got the mussels-sauce it came in was too watery which means extra effort to get that flavor on the mussel, none of the flavor from the sauce stuck on the mussel itself. I got the lamb shank which fell of the bone but lacked flavor. I had to put salt on it which was pretty sad because I NEVER do that and I think my palate is sensitivity to salt-I can easily taste salty. Plus, it was too oily for me. For dessert, I ordered the creme brulee. The sugar was not torched enough, I could see sugar crystals. This totally ruined that nice moment before you took the first bite of creme brulee when you get to crack that glass of sugar coating the top of it. I don't think I will be going back. Besides it's too far outside the loop for me to give it another chance. read more

Very reasonable prices for delicious food. Such a nice, quiet ambiance and the love piano makes it that much better.

Delicious!!! Excellent service and food was divine!! I came here for a nice business lunch and I had the special (fish tacos) and a rice that tasted like paella!! I started with a delicious Lentil soup and then for dessert I had a Panna Cotta cream and my customer had a bread pudding. Delicious!!!! Oh and to mention it's a great restaurant around the energy cooridor. read more

Everything was so great and fresh! We trying this place out for a potential party and will def be booking it! We ordered country fried steak, smoked salmon and grilled fillet Benedict and Hawaiian French toast yum!!! read more

Cafe Benedicte - Mediterranean Near Me - Houston, Texas

This place gets crowded at lunch so make sure u make reservations. The day I went, only two tables were not reserved. Service was AMAZING. The manager there was working as hard as the waitstaff. With a full house, we were getting our refills on time. Food was good, but not great. I will definitely go again to try more items on the menu. Oh and their bread in sandwiches is very light and soft :) read more

First visit for brunch. Service was very good, and the food was very good. Quality ingredients well prepared. Sounds easy, but so many places can't do that. My wife had crepes with chicken & spinach. I had eggs Benedict (why not!). Both were quite good. Not the best we have had, but quite respectable, and leaps and bounds above the other breakfast places near by. read more

I love this little spot. The last time I visited, it was for dinner, and we were seated against a glass wall. There was a tree outside. lighted from beneath, which gave our table a surreal and romantic ambiance from the other side of the wall. Service was excellent - our waiter was very personable and professional! I think his name was Alfonso...I want to give him 5 stars, too! I ordered tempura asparagus with crab and the blue cheese cauliflower soup. Both were delciious! I had had the tempura asparagus before at happy hour and had to have a repeat. The only minus for this place is - I'd like for the wine list to be more diverse. Can't wait to go back - I hate to be repetitive, it's not my style, but 3 times is a charm for the asparagus! read more

A group of four went here for lunch last week for Houston restaurant weeks, but unfortunately things did not work out so well. First let me say that the food was pretty good, but there is much more to it than that. 1. The menu published on the Houstonrestaurantweeks.com was wrong 2. Ordering our meal and getting drinks and appetizers went well 3. From that point everything went down hill, after being at the restaurant for nearly an hour our entree still had not arrived, that was after asking about it several times 4. Our food finally arrived 1:15 mins after we sat down, once again the food was pretty good (or we might have been starving) 5. After eating we had to wait a bit to get the table cleared, at that time we asked for our desserts to go and we asked to talk with the owner 6. The manager came to our table told us that the owner was to busy but promised that he would call us later in the afternoon (BTW we waited 15 minutes to get our desserts ready to take out) This is we're things got a little better, we finally got out desserts to go, and they comped our lunch. But let's face it, a 2 hour lunch is not worth getting it free. IMPORTANT The owner did call and apologized profusely, he did not have a reason for the slow service. However he invited us all back for a glass of wine so he could visit and apologize. So I will defintely give him credit for that but we have not made the time to go back. read more

Had a Rosemary waffle with eggs...not the best waffle I have had. Mimosas looked great for breakfast! Service is friendly & quick, seem happy to take you. Might gone again but won't order the waffle for sure!!! read more

Really appreciate the owner righting back and offering to try them again! Would have given a shot if I lived in Houston. Thank you Vahid!

We went there tonight. First the food is good. I had the lamb chops and my wife had the lamb shank. The salmon quesadilla is a must have. Unique and good. What kept it from a 5 is that it is quite noisy. The service was great and very attentive. We will be going back. read more

Always consistent. Jodie is a superstar waitress. We particularly enjoy the staff which makes up for the somewhat [meh] decor. The pianist is a nice touch, and our meals are always delicious. read more

The environment is very pretty and staff are friendly and fast. My friend got the caprese omelet and I got the chicken stuffed crepes. They both were good!! Although I felt like my chicken was a little dried... I usually like my chicken moist or tender. I still like it and love the feel of the restaurant. They also have so many different Mediterranean foods and variety to choose from. I'm definitely planning to come back! read more

Nice atmosphere. The service was great and the pianist sang a special song for our baby. It was a nice end to a trip to Houston.

Sunday brunch, today they had a pianist, great entertainer by the way, the food, was almost perfect and the service was good. Perfect first 2016 Sunday. read more

Food is overpriced and tasteless. Portions are average, but the deal breaker is how close to a Denny's if not worse quality of food. I've been here twice. One for a weekday lunch, another for Sunday brunch. Both times I was really disappointed with the food. Flavorless, overcooked, cold and stale. I had to ask multiple times to get my coffee cup filled and once filled, waiter did not check other guests at the table who also wanted more coffee. The live pianist is great on Sunday, lovely ambiance and family owned from what I observed. The owners are very very friendly. I do wish them the best however I will not be returning due to the food. read more

Brunch was delicious and well serviced! The waffles were almost like a short cake! Kids enjoyed it very much. Patio access also.

Where to start on this one, my wife and I went with a group of our friends on a Sunday a few weeks ago and our experience at this restaurant wasn't that pleasant. The manager did try to make it up to our table however we already were turned off by the mistakes that were made. The food for the price was "okay", the portions were good, on certain items but some were kinda bland and unimpressive. We might give it another chance, but not anytime soon. read more

We had my boyfriend's birthday dinner here, and it was a wonderful experience. We had a large party, so we were in a private room which was really nice.
