A total surprise! I went there based on good yelp reviews but the interiors looked a bit tired in the pictures (and in real life). But the food and service were both excellent! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by this beautiful Italian sea side village glass mural. It actually feels like you are sitting at a hill top restaurant in Italy. We went there at 2:30pm, 30 mins after the brunch menu was closed but the manager made an exception and accommodated our request, which was very nice of him. We ordered salmon tempura eggs and French toast. The food came soon and was simply delicious! We wiped our plates clean. The wait staff were so attentive. I think I prefer their breakfast brunch menu to the lunch one, although I haven't had lunch there yet. This is truly a gem dressed in an old rag. Will definitely be coming back. read more

This past Sunday, a friend and I decided to grab a bite here after our morning work out. When we went inside we were immediately uncomfortable when we realized we weren't dressed for the type of "white table cloth" aura the restaurant gave off. We immediately decided to leave and before we could get to our car, a waiter came running after us and asked us to please come inside. He insisted that many people came there dressed in "sporty" clothes and we shouldn't worry. Once we got inside the hostess reassured us that it wouldn't be a problem at all and made us feel so comfortable despite being a little self conscious. Once seated, the service was tremendous! I can't say that I've been to a place where the employees genuinely care so much about your "dining experience". We were brought out complimentary bread and jam (homemade, not the kind that comes in a container) and it was quite exquisite. I'd like to thank the staff at Cafe Benedicte for making my friend and I feel so comfortable and providing excellent customer service. The fact that a waiter came running out for us shows that they go the extra mile for their customers. That's a whole lot more than I can say for many of the places I've been to. A hidden gem! Café Benedicte has consistently provided quality food in an upscale atmosphere at reasonable prices. Try the ceviche!! I was thoroughly impressed. Full of shrimp and whitefish, not overly acidic, served with crispy chips. Y U M! If you're around on a weekend, try their brunch. On Sunday's after church we head over. Outstanding breakfast this Sunday morning. We arrived when they opened at 9:00. Probably my most favorite dish ever is an Eggs Benedict. Sort of new to the area, every place I try is a new place, so we asked the waiter what he recommended. To start is the bread with jams. That bread was wonderful and so on point to get that palette moving, along with a Bloody Mary. For me. the waiter recommended the Meat Lovers Muffins with potatoes. For her, he recommended the skillet. We had one of our best meals in the the couple of months since we moved out here (the other being Indian food, Ashiana). Mine was decadent. The eggs were poached perfectly. The Hollandaise, I would prefer a swim in it, but still, this meal was outstanding. My girlfriend had three meals out of her breakfast and loved every one of them. On March 13, 2017, Wife and I stopped by the Cafe Benedicte and were seated by Joe who was very hospitable and told us that happy hour appetizers were only for the bar area, but he would try to get them for our dining room seating -- and our waiter, Richard, confirmed it. Both Joe and Richard were very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. Their menu here is full of wonderful sounding items, so it was somewhat difficult to come to a choice. They served sliced warm bread with garlic dip. It was very good, warm and earthy. We started with the appetizer of mussels. They are large mussels in a garlic sauce. Although not overcooked, they were a little chewy and one of them had sand, which was a real turn off for Wife. But the flavor was very good. We shared a cup of lobster bisque which had a rich lobster fragrance. The soup was very rich, much cream that almost overpowered the lobster. But there were good chunks of lobster in it. Even the smaller portion would dent an appetite significantly. I ordered lamb chops. They were very well seasoned and were tender and savory and I enjoyed them. Wife got the salmon with dill sauce. She is very particular about how her salmon is cooked, and this kitchen just nailed it. Her dish was actually quite spectacular and mouth watering. Wonderful flavors in the sauce that just complemented the fish. This was one of the hits of the evening. For desert we ordered the crepe brûlée, and the molten chocolate lava cake. The cake was really not good at all. Very dry. But the crepe brûlée was amazing! It was brûlée wrapped in a crepe with the best whipped cream I have ever tasted, with a splash of Gran Marnier. There is no question that it is one of the best deserts that we have had anywhere. Easily the desert of the year. Over all, our visit to Cafe Benedicte was very enjoyable, very delicious and we will return whenever possible. read more

I come here with my family at least once a month after church for their Sunday brunch. We've been coming for years! The staff and owner are very friendly. I recognize faces, and there are regulars that come for brunch, but all guests are treated special. You're first served with fresh bread, butter and jams which buys your empty stomach some time before the real meal comes out. It's safe to say that I've tried almost everything on their brunch menu. I would go through phases where I would get their week after week get their breakfast tacos, then switch off to trying a new eggs Benedict each week, or most recently, just getting their crepes. They are all so good! They come with a side of fruit, potatoes or grits. I used to always get their potatoes, but lately I've been taking the healthy option and savored the fruit. Get anything here. I don't think you can go wrong. I do suggest trying the biscuits and gravy. You won't regret it. The pianist steals the show. He's only there on Sunday mornings, and boy does he know how to work the crowd. He's an amazing entertainer, singing happy birthday to any celebrant present. He plays the classics, current Disney hits and even a piano rendition of Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven"! Whenever we are there, he always makes sure to play Filipino folk songs such as "Waray Waray". We were surprised that he knew how to play those songs, so we asked him how he learned. You can find the quaint little cafe in a small little strip center. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday brunch and I'm glad we did. The staff here was fantastic and welcomed us warm heartily. The brunch menu is rather small, but covered all the basics (i.e. omelets, crepes, breakfast sandwiches and breakfast tacos). As Cory F. has said the menu and restaurant has a nice Mediterranean feel and the view is a welcoming sight. The prices are reasonable for brunch, with most of the entrees being under $10. I ordered the crepes, which came overflowing with ham, onions and a creamy Bechamel sauce. Each plate comes with their breakfast potatoes, which were seasoned and fried to golden perfection. Our waiter gets a A+. He was attentive with filling our beverages and even gave my boyfriend a complimentary birthday crepe with a candle. Chicken marsala would rank next to piccatta. The grilled vegetable kebabs with saffron rice can be avoided. it lacked flavor, Moussaka was another dish that can be tried. I also ordered the crepe brulee, iam a huge fan of creme brulee and this one did not disappoint. But really , do you need to put something like creme brulee inside a flamed crepe? i really wanted the creme brulee outside the crepe, but nevertheless it tasted fantastic.I think i tasted liqueur flavor, but iam not sure.I would recommend the baklava and crepe brulee of the lot. Breakfast I always stick with tempura salmon benedicte , but make sure you mention it if you do not want fried potatoes. they may not be listed in menu with some dishes , but may get served on your plate. We decided to brunch here after looking them up online and seeing the beautiful pictures of their patio. Gotta take advantage of the outdoors before temperatures get too high! To our dismay, the photos of the beautiful trees and creek visible from the patio were very old. fail. Chalk it up to progress I guess . . . there is a big, like HUGE pit outside :( so we opted to dine inside. Unfortunately, the dining area is one big space and the acoustics in there made everyone's voices bounce around. It was so loud. i was a bit annoyed. So this review is for Valentine's day dinner, which was spectacular. My boyfriend, in typical him fashion, forgot to book a place until the week before. Scrambling, he found this place, which I saw got really awesome reviews overall, so I was intrigued. Based on Yelp reviews, I thought this place would be at least pretty good, but I was in for a real treat. We had the prix-fixe menu and ordered the crabmeat-avocado-trifle, the seafood thermidor, and the chocolate cake. I needed a recommendation for the wine, as I didn't recognize any of the chardonnay options they had, and the waiter gave me a taste of the special. I was hooked, and ordered the bottle. First + for Ali, our waiter. Now, he came back with "bad news" - they had run out of the chocolate cake. I was a bit concerned at first, as this was the only chocolate offering on the menu, and I am a chocolate fiend. Then Ali said that he could offer us the chocolate mousse instead, which was a great offer, as we would both have preferred the mousse to the cake anyway! He also said he was bringing complimentary soups to make up for the trouble (we let him believe this was trouble for the soup, but it really wasn't). The soup turned out to be lobster bisque (5/5), a regular menu item, which I'd recommend to anyone who goes. It wasn't heavy, which I enjoyed, and had pieces of lobster with just an overall great taste. We were thrilled that we got to try this. Also, their bread is AWESOME (5/5). It was warm and soft and just utterly delicious. I shouldn't have eaten so much but it was worth every calorie. Then came the avocado-crab-pico trifle (5/5). It was on the smaller side but the crabmeat and avocado were fresh and delicious as can be. That with the lobster bisque made us more than prepared for our made dish. That leaves us with our seafood thermidor (5/5), which included lobster tail, scallops, and shrimp with fettuccine and mushrooms with asparagus. The entire dish was fantastic. I enjoyed every single bite, and I was truly impressed. Lastly we got this substitute dessert, a chocolate lava cake with chocolate mousse. Poor us, right? It goes down as one of the best desserts I've had in Houston. I'm positive I enjoyed this more than I would've enjoyed the original cake. It came with delicious vanilla ice cream and the mousse was spectacular. The lava cake was warm and soft and the exact way you'd picture a great lava cake. This was all topped off by an awesome pianist who I really enjoyed. He came over to talk to us a few times too, which I really enjoyed. Also, the chef came too, which I thought was truly special. I will mention that we were by far the youngest people there. I understood why this place wasn't booked a month early for Valentine's Day, as the atmosphere wasn't perfect for any young couples, but I thought it was the perfect dinner. The food was out of this world, and that's what matters to a foodie like me. I cannot wait to come back and try this place for brunch or for a regular dinner. Café Benedicte is one of the few, so we were forced to hang out in the Energy Corridor. 1 PM was already a late lunch for me, and the first course took a loooong time to arrive. The cauliflower blue cheese soup was interesting in a good way- worth trying. The smoked salmon quesadilla was greasy, which cancels the health benefit of eating salmon. My main course, wine and honey lamb ribs, was scrumptious. Easy to cut with a fork and knife, so I didn't have to resort to using my hands. I also really enjoyed the tempura salmon croquette (misleading- they're just salmon cakes). It's a tough call between the two. Make a deal with a friend and share both. I don't advertise myself as a baklava expert, but I did consume a lot of it in Turkey. I tried a bite of my friend's and it sucked. Dry, crunchy, and stale. Disappointing even with low expectations. I chose the panna cotta with fresh berries instead. According to Joe Bastianich, the correct pronunciation is "pah-na koh-ta." He seizes every opportunity to remind you of his Italian descent, flinging around Italian words whenever possible, so obviously he can't be wrong. Our server tried to correct me with "pannah cot-ta." Ha, das cute. It was a little runny, but I loved it. Our credit cards came back with mismatched receipts. Our server said it didn't matter because all of us paid the same amount, but um, yes it does. I'm pretty sure my friend's signature doesn't look anything like "Karen." I was a guest for a dinner at Cafe Benedicte. They have a very large menu. You'll find Italian choices, American cuisine and even Mediterranean dishes. This is something that immediately raises my suspicions about restaurants. Also, what is up with the paint colors and decor in the place? Maybe they are trying to be eclectic but I think it comes across as tacky. Food was underwhelming. Nothing exciting. I shared a dessert with another person and was completely disappointed with the tart. The tart crust tasted bland and still frozen. It they did make it fresh, well, it just didn't taste good at all. The first time I went for Brunch I had a friend from out of town. They kept us waiting at the door and then escorted us to a VERY small table for two. The waiter evidently had repeat customers there, that he totally catered to, neglecting our table. We were never asked if we wanted dessert. Brunch was so so. I decided to try it again and we met another couple there for Brunch. The waitress had on some cheap perfume that was unacceptable for an eatery. The WORST Bloody Mary I have EVER had and the muffin on my Eggs Benedict was untoasted and I had to look under the eggs to see if they actually put the ham on it.
