    Brunchy Toast
    Najah H.

I'm giving this location an extra star because of the food alone. I had to stop on my way to work to take a call and decided to order. When I walked in it was almost like the staff was surprised. The cafe opens at 9 AM so I'm not sure why - it was 9:25 AM. After looking around, it was clearly their time to prep lunch orders for delivery and checking their laptops. About all the dining area was set-up with stacks of food and boxes for the deliveries. Other employees were heads down on their computer at tables too. Maybe the dining room wasn't open but no one said a word. I asked for a coffee drink (mocha) and was told only regular coffee and half & half. Okay. Then to eat - they made it clear there's no breakfast, only salads and sandwiches unless I like lunch for breakfast. Ok again. I found the Brunchy Toast to be similar to breakfast ingredients so I ordered that. I found a table that was somewhat free and opened my bag to take my video call. It's a cafe right? The host comes by to ask surprisingly if I wanted to stay - yes, I do. A few moments later my food arrived however no serving utensils came with it. I took a 15 minute call and drank the coffee because I literally had no fork or knife to eat. I got up after my call ended to ask and the reply was plastic or silverware? Um, I'd just like to eat my food. In short, the food here is tasty and high quality. Great presentation and flavors for the avocado toast. I took my salad to-go and ate it for lunch. The veggies and dressing were really balanced together. The vinaigrette is yum! So perhaps skip the morning visit and only go at lunch or order catering.

Walnut Chicken Sandwich on croissant bread

I had my meal delivered because I am sick and this place did not disappoint. Half asleep, I ordered a quart of their chicken noodle soup and their walnut chicken salad. I had my food within 20 minutes at my door step! I'm not someone who likes salty chicken noodle soup, so if you feel the same way, this soup is perfect for you. The chicken is well seasoned, the broth is too, but definitely less salty than your usual chicken noodle soup. Which I think makes it so great and unique. And my usual sandwich was good as well!! Thank you Cafe at Pharr for helping heal my head cold!

    Shrimp Salad Sandwich

I visited Cafe at Pharr on a Friday afternoon in hopes of grabbing a egg and potato salad sandwich, but they were, unfortunately, sold out. I heard from a friend that they were very good and wanted to try it for myself. I ended up purchasing a shrimp salad sandwich for myself and a spinach salad (without bacon) for my girlfriend. I found the shrimp salad to be very bland and somewhat misleading in its description. It was less of a shrimp salad and more of a few shrimp stacked on top of some tomatoes and lettuce. As far as flavoring, I was grateful to have been at home because I was in desperate need of salt and pepper just to add light flavoring. And I am one of the persons who refrains from adding additional salt and pepper to their food at any restaurant. My girlfriend enjoyed her spinach salad and found the dressing accompanying the salad to be quite flavorful. So there's a possibility that my sandwich was just a bit off. Perhaps I'll go back and try the egg & potato salad sandwich one day and update my review.

My coworkers ordered lunch from here and mostly all liked it. I tried the chicken salad and was impressed with the amount of flavor. Only thing is there was not enough chicken salad and too much salad (veggies) I did have somewhat of a reaction.. some sores in my mouth so maybe I'm sensitive to something in it. I liked the added side of cream and bread. I thought it was going to be savory so I ate it with the salad. Now I know it makes for good dessert.

Eww...an almost $15 salad was served with this disgusting avocado

I'm sad...not only is my fav salad almost $15 now, this is what was served to me today. With prices that high, you do expect everything to be fresh and edible. Eeewww

I got the Celery Chicken Sandwich ($8.29), which came with grapes and a yogurt roll. I thought the plating was as if I was making this for my child, they could have done a little bit better with the plating. The chicken itself was dry and I didn't like how there weren't even any little chunks with my chicken salad, it was very puréed. I was overall a little disappointed. Service was great, workers were very kind ! Not too impressed with the decor as well, very simple, plain. Over all experience, probably won't come again, I like my chicken salad to have some bits of little chicken chunks and I want it moist as well. Like I said, it was very dry for me.

Mmm, meat! Roast beef with Swiss on French.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough fast food joints with a focus on fresh salads but lucky for me, Doc Green's was right on my pathway for the day. Located in a huge plaza in Smyrna, Doc Green's is a salad lovers dream. I can't believe this was my first visit! The restaurant itself is narrow but long, offering plenty of seating in the back of the place, as well as the entryway. Doc Green's is actually paired with another restaurant it seems, but I was focused on the salad. They have some recommended combos but you can also create your own with a wide array of toppings. I was in heaven looking at all of the fresh veggies, proteins and dressings available. I decided to create my own and just went wild. I was super bummed because I ended up forgetting some favorites (like avocado) because I didn't see/notice them on the cold bar. I chose my dressings, had it mixed up and then checked out. I opted for a fountain drink and unfortunately, the lemonade was toooooo sweet. But that was the only downside because my salad was wonderful!! Everything was fresh, the portions were generous and I felt like I got my money's worth. I'm always in the Akers Mill plaza buying things I don't need so I can't wait to grab another salad at Doc Green's when I'm in the neighborhood!

Chicken wings and the oklamhoma smash burger with mac and cheese. Total: $33.22. Pros Those wings with the lemon peper sauce are delicious. That lemon pepper sauce? Amazing. I get tired of the lemon pepper dry rub or the dry rub with butter/oil. They made an actual sauce. Love it. The burger was delicious. It was more cookout style- not like Wendys or McDonald's. Cons The cheese on top of my mac and cheese was not melted. I'm sure this was a choice by the restaurant, but I prefer melted cheese on top of the mac. Would I Recommend: Yes! This entree was much bigger and only cost $12. I would want to buy this again.

I had about 30 minutes for lunch and I decided to stop here. This was my first time coming here. Original ChopShop is at the end of one of two rows of business buildings in a shopping center. During lunch time on a weekday when I visited, parking spaces were hard to come by because there are many popular places to eat here. The order counter is just a few steps in front the entrance. Large menus are display are above the counter. Lots of natural light streamed through the large windows in the front of the store, and the side and ceiling of the large indoor dining area feature glass windows, making it feel like you're dining outdoors without experiencing the elements or insects. However, there is an outdoor patio if you actually do want to experience the elements and insects. The dining room was very clean. I got to Original ChopShop at around ten minutes past noon. Surprisingly, there were only about 15 people, although the restaurant can seat a whole lot more customers than that. In spite of not having that many customers, it still took 20 minutes for my order to be delivered to my table. I had ordered a grilled steak sandwich on multi-grain bread. The sandwich included grilled sirloin, caramelized onion, fontina, arugula, apple, mushroom, horseradish creme, and soy sesame sauce. The presentation was nice, but I thought the flavors were just awful, with the main flavor being "burnt." The grilled sirloin was tender, but its flavor was ruined by the caramelized onions and/or the mushroom. I was also expecting the bits of steak to be hot, but it wasn't. Something tasted really off. I had only taken one bite and that was enough. I did eat the pickle, which tasted great! I really had to leave to get to work, anyway. This was not a good experience.
