Oh my word! I already want to go back. My friend and I each got a cauliflower "chik'n" wrap and shared. Oh my oh my! So yummy. I got the Asian Chicken Wrap which is described as "Asian marinated chicken, carrots, cucumber, cabbage, cilantro, rice noodles, sesame peanut sauce, spinach wrap." My friend got another "chik'n" wrap but I can't find the description online so I can't tell you about it but it was good also. I got the pasta salad and my friend got fries. I Tammy liked the pasta salad. Excellent, excellent restaurant

Still as good as ever! Loved the Asian Chicken Wrap, even as a takeout meal! The cold quinoa salad was great as well.

Super unique, cute, & welcoming atmosphere/ staff. Book store inside. Plenty decorations. Great fresh & healthy food options as well as vegan/vegetarian (especially hard to find in Da Parish). Robyn is the best! Their Blue Eyes Tea is delicious, pretty color, tastes great without sweetener, & free refills.

The bookstore and cafe signs

This place is amazing!!!! The owner had an amazing idea for a cozy restaurant. The food is amazing, perfect consistency and the fact that she was even teaching us the recipe and the owner herself was there to have a friendly conversation is the coolest to experience. She has a bookstore with the coziest little set up. We are from florida and this place right here should be a 10 star... the 5 star isn't near what she deserves :)

I found this little place after attending a graduation in the area. Street and reserved parking, attached to a super cute bookstore. Menu has lots of fresh and yummy foods, something for every picky taste bud. Although I only had coffee and dessert I would've had more of there hadn't been a wait 40mins before you get your food warning. Though I appreciate the warning, that cancelled lunch for my schedule. I would again try Cafe Aquarius if I had business in the area but I usually don't.

Fried green tomatoes with Gouda grits - eggs, fried green tomatoes, fried shrimp, hollandaise sauce and a little argula.

Correction I had the fried green tomatoes not the eggs Labatt. I can't wait to try more

Ronda made my wedding cake dreams come true. Not only did both layers (chocolates peanut butter, and red velvet) taste light and fluffy, moist and decedent all at the same time-the design captured a New Orleans nuptial like no other. Hands down have these people do your cake!!! Also the brunch is to die for. Fried green tomato eggs Benedict a must!!

Bennachin Restaurant - Lunch special chicken with spinach and plantains

I Just had another fantastic meal at Bennachin Restaurant on 1212 Royal Street in the heart of New…read moreOrleans' French Quarter, and as a local from the area, it's hands-down one of my all-time favorites for authentic West African cuisine. If you're craving bold flavors and a cozy spot that feels like a hidden gem, this place never disappoints--highly recommend for locals and visitors alike! The vibe here is warm and inviting, with simple, colorful decor that transports you straight to Cameroon or Gambia without leaving NOLA. It's a small, intimate space, perfect for a casual dinner or even a quick lunch amid the Quarter's hustle. Parking can be tricky on Royal Street, but it's worth the walk--plus, the location puts you right in the mix of historic charm and lively energy. Service is always spot-on: friendly, knowledgeable staff who make you feel like family. Our server chatted about the menu's inspirations and helped customize spice levels, which is great for anyone new to African dishes. Everything came out promptly, even on a busy evening, and they were attentive without hovering. Now, the food--oh man, where to start? It's all about that delicious, authentic goodness. My absolute go-to is the shrimp rice and spinach dish; the jollof rice is perfectly spiced with a rich tomato base, tender shrimp, and just the right kick, paired with sautéed spinach that's garlicky and fresh. It's hearty, flavorful, and reminds me of home-cooked comfort with an exotic twist. We also tried the plantains--crispy on the outside, soft inside--and the akara (black-eyed pea fritters) as starters, which were crispy, savory perfection. Portions are generous, and everything's made with fresh ingredients that shine through in every bite. If you're vegetarian, they've got plenty of options like the vegetable curry that pack the same punch. Prices are reasonable for the quality--entrees around $15-20--and it's BYOB, which keeps things affordable and fun. No frills, just straight-up deliciousness. As someone who's been coming here for years, Bennachin captures the essence of authentic African flavors in a way few places do. Whether you're a NOLA native like me or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in--you'll leave planning your next visit!

First time trying food from Gambia and Cameroon, and Bennachin absolutely blew me away…read more We ordered the Bennachin (African jambalaya/jollof rice) with sautéed spinach and got it spicy--super flavorful, comforting, and very reasonably priced. We also had the Naouki-Ngond (Egusi Soup) with beef, garlic, ginger, and spinach in a rich ground melon seed sauce, with fufu on the side. The flavors were bold but balanced, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. On top of the amazing food, the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Mason, was incredibly kind and gave us great advice on things to do while we were visiting, which made the experience feel even more special. Highly recommend Bennachin if you're curious about Gambian and Cameroonian cuisine or just want a delicious, cozy meal.

Ya'll are just so DISRESPECTFUL! I don't care if I go to a place and I feel the food is terrible, I simply keep it pushing because their clearly in business because SOMEBODY likes it! Everyones palates and tastes are different! In our community, it's IMPERATIVE to support US! If you patronize a spot, you have issues? Tell THEM while your there! Call them if your home to relay your opinion! We are the ONLY people who would rather blast US on social media instead of having private chats with owners and managers so that they can still make a living while improving! Get. It. Together! And No I do NOT know the owner, just looking at the yelp reviews and it's just plain disgusting how we treat each other! Have some respect and decency people! Now on to my actual review, this place is the TRUTH! If you all follow this brotha on social media, you know he is MORE than just this vegan spot! He goes in the community and talks about regular food who all consume and the harmful ingredients that are in them! He is all about education! What we ordered: The liberation burger- double vegan patties, lettuce, homemade sauce and vegan cheese! Everything about this burger was GOOD! The patties were seasoned and actually had good flavor! They weren't crumbling but held their own! I haaaaaate vegan cheese. Literally never met a vegan pre made cheese that I have liked! I can vaguely taste the vegan cheese on this so I was really happy about that! It was just an overall GREAT burger! The lettuce was super green, not the white ugly non nutritional part! The home made sauce I could have bottled that up! The beans!! Oh weeeee those red beans are FANTASTIC! Again, they were SEASONED SOOOO well! Mac and cheese- I told ya'll I DON'T LIKE VEGAN CHEESE! Best vegan mac hands down. More like a spaghetti of sorts but yummy in my tummy! Strawberry biscuits POPEYES WHO?!? Big, warm, DELICIOUS! Strawberry drink had huge strawberries in them! Fantastic! Yes you can order on their website and then give it about 30-45 mins and head on over! He makes everything literally when you order it so patience is KEY! I had zero issues waiting.

They are in a location that looks like a house so I don't even know if they are legit. They are either not answering or they take way longer than they commit too. The no answering is horrible.
