Major curb appeal at Cafe 6 three 4 in McCall, a local cafe in an old gas station with a vintage feel. This place is adorable in so many ways, but operationally challenged in others. The wait for breakfast (quoted 45 minutes minimum from ordering our food to having it come out, both times we went, which is too long) made us think they were having a challenge making food at the pace that many customers would be willing to wait. Breakfast cut off is a firm 11 am, even on Saturday and Sunday, which might be hard for many brunch customers to manage, but seemed to jibe alright with the locals. Solid options for brunch included their mountain blueberrry french toast and the breakfast burrito. Coffee was good and strong. I'd have a harder time recommending their take on a stacked huevos rancheros, with cornbread waffle rather than tortillas. It looked fantastic in all the photos I saw, but I found it a dry, crumbly version, and not that tasty, unfortunately. Sandwiches are solid options too. The airy indoor and outdoor vintage setting and friendly staff are both highlights at Cafe 6 three 4. read more

The new Bistro 45 is open in the old Cafe 634 spot. A new twist on both locations, a bit of both. It's was good, give it a try.

Came here yesterday and while I wanted to love it, the disorganization left off a star. First visit I came here in the morning for a cup of coffee and the line was out the door for people ordering food. Suggestion have a coffee only line and skip the I have a 1,000 questions about your menu line. I waited for almost 25 minutes for a cup of black coffee. Hindsight that was my fault as I should've went somewhere else. Then 2 hours later my wife wanted to try this place for lunch and reluctantly I went. All things looked better...less of a line and we ordered some drinks and 2 sandwiches. This is where the wheels came off the bus. We sat and sat and sat and after almost 45+ mins our sandwiches came out. Now these weren't any special a turkey sandwich and an Italian meat sandwich. How does that take 45+ mins! No special sides to accompany the sandwich just a bag of chips. We weren't the only ones either everyone looked starving and miserable waiting for their food. The sandwich was a sandwich and nothing special but well executed but again it's a sandwich. The kitchen and staff need to get more organized and have people focused on hot food vs cold food. This would be such a great spot to grab some pre-made sandwiches and sides or a quick to-go order side for people wanting to head to the lake. The location is perfect to walking to downtown McCall but they for sure have things to work out before I would be back for a 45+ min wait for a cold sandwich. read more

This is a great place and a must if you are in McCall! They serve breakfast & lunch items and are open until 2pm (ish). Most all of their stuff is made in-house or local (breads) Been there for breakfast before and got the quiche and it was delicious. This time I get the ham sandwich and it was served with kettle chips and a house salad. Salad was fantastic, not just lettuce and a few croutons, look at my pics to see what I mean. The sandwich was super fresh, very flavorful, plenty of meat and you could tell they made it with care. We originally planned to go to The Pancake House but found out they were closed. Not finding too many other breakfast options, we decided to stop in here for a quick bite. The decor is neat and the food was simple. Not massive portions, but definitely the amount I SHOULD be eating (satisfied, but not stuffed). The eggs were plain but good with some added salt and pepper. The shining star of the meal was the potato bread which was very much like a sourdough. The only part I really didn't care for was the bacon. It was very thin and kind of chewy, sort of like what you'd get at a continental breakfast. A little more fruit would also round out the meal a bit better in my opinion. For a quick simple bite, it was good and I'd recommend it. If you're looking for more of a crave worthy breakfast, you'll probably want to go elsewhere. UPDATE: I received a note from who I assume was the owner of this establishment in response to my review above. I was informed that the reason for my experience was that I ordered the "simplest and cheapest" dish on their menu and the reason the bacon was not "up to [my] standards" was because they do not fry their food. I want to be clear that review of the bacon as thin and chewy was due to the quality and thickness of the meat - not the cooking style. My review was based on my honest opinion of a dish offered on their menu. For a restaurant to claim that a review of their establishment is not reflective of their business because you ordered the "simplest and cheapest" item on the menu does not make much sense. I stand by my review of the food itself; however, if I WERE to revise it, it would be to remove a star due to the tone of the response I received (which is a shame because I actually found them to be pleasant while we were there). My goodness this place is great. Service was helpful and friendly. The 208 sandwich with ham was so fresh and delicious . Not sure what the salad dressing was but I loved it. Light and flavorful. We visited for lunch during the winter festival. I was excited to try this restaurant as they had some plant-based options. I got the tempeh sandwich with yummy sauce. The sandwich itself was fresh but the flavors were not very developed, the tempeh did not appear to have been marinated or seasoned. My husband had one of their wraps, said it was average, and our kids had the flatbread pizza and liked it. The portions weren't too big by American standards. Service was good. Where have you been my whole life!? This place has the best brunch in town. It's a cafe/coffee shop. Walk up and order, (grab your own seats) they have a food menu and coffee/drink menu. We got the idaho waffle and huevos corn rancheros and omg I haven't had anything this good in a while! Took a little bit to get it but as soon as you see it you know it's all made fresh from scratch! The idaho waffle had hash browns in it, topped w sausage and two eggs, finished w house gravy. The huevos had a fluffy corn waffle topped w black beans, avocados, eggs and some delicious sauce. Has so much potential but really missed the mark. All our food was cold. No melted cheese. The breakfast bowl is more like a breakfast salad. My bread came out 10 mins after my meal. Would definitely go again just feeling a little bothered for a $50 breakfast for two people was super mediocre. Plenty of potential! I hope this helps! read more

We came here twice in the past week because once just wasn't enough. Everything was so delicious and fresh. I got the cabin fever twice, and my husband got the Artemis and Braap Wrap and raved about both. The gluten free bread is SO GOOD. Love how friendly everyone was. We love that more local restaurants are opening up in McCall and this family restaurant did not disappoint. The Cafe offers breakfast and lunch and has a nice selection of options. The Cafe is easy to find on the main road into town and is a repurposed gas station (it looks like). The vibe and style of the the Cafe is inviting and unique...with food options that match. The staff were all very friendly and the cute dog outside made the visit very pleasant. We ordered a few canned drinks from their fridge of local drinks to accompany our lunch which was refreshing on a hot day. I ordered the the Pulled Pork Sandwich that was served with a bag of chips. The sandwich was served hot which was a great start. The pork was good. Nothing that wowed me....the slaw and bbq sauce were great touches and tasted good. My wife ordered the Turkey Sandwich. She mentioned that the turkey was actually sliced turkey and not deli slices which was very flavorful and juicy. The bread and Brie were super yummy she said. The most amazing breakfast burrito ( J dub) and sandwiches (my fav is the cabin fever) . They also have great coffee and espresso. We were up in McCall for the weekend and stumbled upon 634 and I got the Jdub . We go back to Boise and I couldn't stop thinking about how good that burrito was. We have a cabin in McCall and we were visiting again about a month later. There I am, on my own with two toddlers, snow storm outside. But it's morning and I'm starving. Do I do it? This place is fantastic for both breakfast and lunch which we did both. We hit it up for a quick yummy bagel with homemade blueberry cream cheese spread and coffee. My husband said his mocha coffee was awesome and he's picky. We went back for lunch and got the Tumbleweed Bowl with chicken and both chipotle and avocado dressing. The bowl was fantastic. This is an adorable restaurant that looks to be old gas station converted to a restaurant. The staff was super friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. They have done such a great job with decorating and making the cafe feel so inviting. The breakfast was delicious, as well as the coffee. You can get the sandwiches on bread or in a tortilla wrap... I've had the Artemis in a spinach tortilla and Cabin Fever on ciabatta. Both are amazing. We have been searching for the best Mexican Mocha in Idaho and we found it here! The food was also surprisingly good! I had a breakfast bowl filled with egg, cheese, orange peppers, spinach and sausage! I'm avoiding carbs so I asked them to hold the potatoes! This is a great cafe with good coffee and some really nice eats. I was staying across the street and was so happy to be able to walk across the street for my morning cup before my Zoom meetings. Sweet little cafe. Fantastic mimosa!! Staff very very nice and attentive. Got the protein bowl no egg and with the veg sausage to be vegan, they ought to charge less or sub out the egg for more avocado or something. I asked for a vegan sauce and was given the "yummy" sauce but not sure if it had egg based mayo in it or not so careful if you have allergies.
