This is such a great place for breakfast or lunch. The portions are huge and the food is great. The gravy is homemade and delicious. There is really nothing but positives to say. The prices here are absolutely ridiculous and a rip off. I ate there this morning with a friend and his girlfriend and we got coffee, 2 sides of bacon, and three simple breakfast meals and got charges $70 and were expected to leave a tip for very mediocre food. Not worth it, 1/10. Case closed read more

My wife and I have gone here for 10 plus years. Consistent and amazing. Kim and the effort of her team truly shows. Give some grace and enjoy some beautiful food. read more

Huge portions, and delicious food. Very few Covid precautions, but that resonated throughout the community as a whole. No place we went in Riggins was heavy on the Covid mandates. The value here is incredible. Their gravy is delicious. read more

River Rock Cafe - Corn beef and shredded potatoes (minus 1 egg and muffin) - Cafes Near Me - Riggins, Idaho

We visited twice in Riggins - once for dinner and again for breakfast. Both times were yummy. Service was a little slow but our server was honest about the wait and attentive to our needs. My only gripe is the restaurant wasn't as clean as I would like. The bathroom in particular had an abandoned quality to it (grime on the door for example). A deep clean would be appreciated. read more

I've been here many times over the years and I've never had a bad experience! Only downside is probably the staff to visitor ratio is low. Pros? Really friendly staff Delicious breakfast food Super fluffy homemade biscuits Delicious bloody mary's to cure any hangover They keep the hot coffee coming I remember a calzone from a long time ago, and I remember loving it Cons? When you get a to go it can take a really long time... it's a big place with a huge menu They often have new staffing that takes a little while to get things moving Tips? Try the manly man if you dare... it's the creation of one of the staff's sons and it's great for a hungry and indecisive customer! Imagine country fried steak over eggs benedict read more

Waitress was extremely rude and acted like the world was ending when I asked to split the check

I'm giving this place 3 stars simply because it was food I can make at home. It was good food, clean, people were great, portions were large...overall a good experience. read more

Do not stop here if you are in a hurry, or hungry, and especially not both. You will still be sitting at your table an hour later, wondering how to reschedule every appointment you are late for because the service here was SO SLOW!!! (and, yes, people passing through Riggins do have appointments further down the road). We arrived at 11:30... and sat for 10 minutes before the sole employee (aside from the cook) came to our table to take our order. We finally got our drinks another 10 minutes later. It took our food a full 30 minutes from the time we ordered to come out of the kitchen at 12:10. When we finished eating, we sat there for another 10 minutes, wondering where the heck the waitress was. I finally wandered to the back of the house myself to ask for the bill. I found her there, feverishly getting plates ready to take out to her only other table, and she was ANGRY with me for mentioning that we needed our bill. Then, she was all peaches and cream when she handed the bill to my husband ( I guess she remembered that she needed to earn a tip). The food tasted good -- kudos to the cook -- but, it was a soggy mess when it came to the table due to the au jus for the French Dip slopping out of the cup onto the plate. The potato salad was very good. read more

Worst meal that we've had in a long time, the fish was undercooked the salad was wilted. Clam chowder was so badly seasoned it was not edible! But I will compliment the waitress. She was helpful and apologetic, and tried to do a very good job. read more

Very nice! This is a great little place to grab some lunch. The staff is very nice and the food hit the spot every time we came which... over the three days we were here was a decent amount. What really impressed me was the soup! The cook really knows what she's doing back there because I had three different types and each one was genuinely very good. If we had a place like this where I live in Polson, MT I would definitely come in a lot for the soup alone. The chilli, cauliflower and cheese, and the beef and barley were amazing! read more

Been coming here for years!! Stop in here for breakfast going and coming. Great selections huge portions. Plus Bloody Mary is so good. Kim is always so friendly and outgoing no matter how busy she is. read more

Great food! I had a French Dip, and it was full of lean goat beef, with a serving of horseradish sauce on the side. Just delicious!

Pricey pricey pricey!! Driving through Riggins, ID with my 3 young children and Army active duty/veteran of Iraq husband. This looked like the only non-bar/saloon type place. My review Pros: Service was friendly Clean facility Cons: Salad was $9.95 and I could count the pieces of lettuce. Size of a side salad anywhere else No kids menu but more than willing to tell us what was on it and charge us $6.25 for a PB&J on white bread.....thats it. No side, milk, nothing. Literally 2 pieces of bread with PB and Jelly! And $6.95 for a kids Cheese pizza with a side charge of $1.00 for Red Sauce! What is that? Then when I asked if they had a Military Discount (especially with it being Veterans Day and all), they said they had never heard of giving that discount. You have been warned!! read more

River Rock Cafe - Proof of prices - Cafes Near Me - Riggins, Idaho

Portions are out of this world! We kept things simple by eating the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes. Then the 1lbs chili burger which I would say was practically magical. This restaurant is a down right home cooked, home away from home, the way "mama" used to make it kinda eating establishment. I would come back to his place 10 out of 10 times. read more

We arrived here at 6pm ordered at about 6:10 and waited for more then a hour for our food people came in 20 minutes after us and have already been served there food. The waiter was alright she was arguing with the cook a lot and touched some of the food with no gloves was nasty. read more

We went here 4 times, in 3 days, because the food was so good. The surprise item in the menu was Turkey sandwich. It was essentially Thanksgiving Day dinner on top of white bread. Gravy, mashed potatoes, turkey, cranberry. Yum. And in spring time. Wasn't expecting that. read more

While traveling through Idaho, we came through Riggings. I heard about River Rock Cafe from Yelp as it has a gew positive reviews. When arriving into Riggings, it's hard not to get caught up with the scenery.   As we pulled up to  the cafe, it looked lime a small house. There is syreet parking and it also has a gravel lot. We walked inside and the mell of homecookig was present. There is a counter you can sit at directly at the door, and two smaller rooms toeither side of the restaurant.   There is art on every wall of people having a blast riding the rapids jey boat racing, big game hunts and vast scenery. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are neat and tidy.    We ordered the dish two, two, two. French toasy, eggs, and choice of meat.  Chicken fried steak, and the breakfast burrito. The french toast was caramelized from being griddled which added to its flavor. I aslo ordered a side of Hash browns, all which was great. The breakfast burrito came with a crispy shell. Salsa and sour cream came in a disposable ramekin. The burrito came with hash browns inside with 4 scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. It was so filling, we couldn't finish it.  The Chicken fried steak came with a huge buttermilk biscuit, two eggs. It was a little oily but overall great flavors. The only bad thing here is the coffee. Well done ! read more

I've eaten here three times in the last year. The food is pretty good. However, the wait has been excessive every time. Yesterday it took an hour to get a single breakfast, and they were still seating people. Without a word to expect an hour or more between placing the order and seeing food. So, if you have a few hours to kill, and you're fine with getting food ....sometime. It's not bad at all. read more

So disappointed with this place! Had heard good things however.....We ordered three pizzas and breadsticks for take out this last weekend. We were told it would take 35 minutes, no prob. When my son did arrive he had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the order. We spent $90 bucks there and when we opened it up back at our hotel, one of the pizza pies was so burnt we could not eat it. The other was under cooked. We will not go back a second time. read more

Great place. Stopped for lunch driving from Cataldo to Boise today. Jack had a pepper burger and I had the 6 buck burger (only 1/4 lb instead of the usual 1/2 lb) with mushrooms and Swiss added. No complaints on either burger and the sides were delicious too. Onion rings and homemade potato salad. Was wishing we had room for dessert! read more

Biscuits and gravy were excellent !!!! I have had dozens of different variations of this. But here, the gravy was amazing and the biscuits were perfectly moist and yummy. The French toast was awesome and the coffee was really really good. This place is fairly priced and the food was great. Little hidden gem in Riggins Idaho !!! read more

Homemade and yummy...I had a chicken, pesto, artichoke sandwich, and my husband had the meatloaf special sandwich. Only ate half my sandwich (saving for later), so we could get some homemade dessert...blackberry cobbler with ice cream. A local recommend this place for lunch, and we were glad he did! read more

The atmosphere was nice but I definitely suggest skipping on the "River Rock" pizza. The dark meat chicken was awful. It completely ruined the whole taste of the pizza. If the menu had specified that the chicken was dark meat I would have selected a different option. They do have many choices and I wish I would have selected something else. read more

As previously stated a crappy establishment. A sincere business owner would have spent less time making excuses, since neither of the managers were there. Additionally I don't eat in an establishment where the kitchen staff reacts as negatively as yours did. Nevertheless I digress, I don't waste time talking to people who don't listen to sincere criticism. You got your money, I left my concern. I am sure it will not be the last negative this place will receive, and they can't be all be wrong. read more

Just enjoyed a delicious meal from beginning to end. We ordered salmon and chicken parmigiana and every bite was a delight. The rice pilaf was herby and scrumptious as well! Afterwards we treated ourselves with mountain blackberry cobbler, and may I just say, decadent? Every calorie was worth it. Next time we come through Riggins (in August), we'll time it just right so we can stop in again. read more

Great meal... prime rib was seasoned and cook perfectly. Staff were great on a BUSY weekend

Great food and friendly service. Certainly there are few options in Riggins, but we had a great experience. The Rock Burger is huge!

Not your typical small-town diner. The chef takes the time to make the usual menu items and also had some nice surprises as well. I had focaccia with chicken, sun-dried tomato, artichoke, and pesto. It was well prepared and delicious. They also make a selection of braided sandwiches with fillings baked inside. My husband's mushroom burger was tasty and we overheard others commenting that it was the best burger they've ever had. Last time here, I had a delicious hot pork sandwich with potatoes and gravy. Service was friendly and fast. read more

Passing through town, I am leery of cafes as they are usually hit or miss. Went there with my husband and two toddlers for dinner. The food selection was excellent and it was surprisingly good! The kids menu wasn't our taste so the boys shared a burger and salad which was made from fresh greens (not iceberg lettuce). My husband said the burger was excellent, my Rosemary chicken panini definitely was. All the accompaniments were fresh and delicious! Not fancy, kinda slow service and the waitress seemed a little over worked but honestly I'd come back! read more
