2 stars is generous and only reflects better previous experiences. These are small portions for the price, and the food is uninspiring. I used to like the braised beef protein bowl, but now it is no longer available. This last time I went, I got the southwest pork protein bowl. The pork was so bland...so bland. The salad was bland. Yeah...the whole thing was bland. And bacon? On a southwest salad? Just bizarre. The bread tastes like the pre-made rolls from the grocery store. My son got the $5 chicken strips...the picture shows how sad they were. The fruit bowl was fortunately a savior there, but I will probably still need to give my 2 year old more food when we get home. My wife got the potato soup, which had 2.5 pieces of potato in the whole bowl. Overall, this place has gone downhill and needs improvement. read more

The store is disorganized. They should group your food together so they dont mix them up at the end. It slows the process down. The food tastes good. But the volume is not worth the cost! They sneak in upcharges- false advetisement. What is in the photo is NOT included in the price. For example, the tomatoe and orzo includes the orzo, but for the wis califlower the bacon and cheese in the photo are extra. A sprinkle of cheddar cheese is 70 cents. That is outrageous. Then the bacon is an extra 70 cents. So, when I got to the end of the line and pointed out that I was being charged for the extras in the photo. They dumped out my bowl and remade the wis soup plain. What a waste. You can get unlimited soup salad and breadstucks other places for a more resonable price. I like the concept Zupa tries to pull off, I just don't think Zupa does a good job. I've been here several times but I finally kinda wrote this place off because I've just not been impressed each time I visit. The salads are good, I can't complain about that. The soup..well. Portion sizes seem stupid. Every time, if you get the large takeout size they don't fill the container up. Its like 2/3 to 3/4 full. It feels like I'm getting ripped off. Get smaller containers or something if you're going to be that scrooge-like. The desserts. No. Way too sweet. What I'm most unhappy with is the attitude of Zupas though. When they first opened, I asked if I could have strawberry not dipped in chocolate. They were cool with it and accommodated my ask. About the third time I went there though, suddenly it was out of the question. It doesn't seem like it should be a big deal, and contrary to what they try to tell you it isn't a fucking free strawberry. No business is stupid enough not to price 'free' shit into everything else. So if I want a strawberry that isn't dipped in chocolate give me a fucking strawberry. The manager even refused to tell me why suddenly it was against policy. The vibe I was getting was they just didn't feel like doing it, like because it was against the routine they've established or something. Well, guess what. However, since opening, the salad is often made with ingredients missing or is inconsistent with the amount of the ingredient. This location just opened at the beginning of March, I had previously enjoyed their meals catered to my place of employment so I "knew of it." While visiting a neighboring business I realized I needed some food and thought, if I liked it catered, I'm sure to like it on their premises. It's a bit of a construction zone as this is a new development, but I managed to find a parking spot right up front. As we walked in (Lisa P. was with me) we were blown away by how busy it was! Every table was full and the line stretched all the way to the door. At this point, the obvious internal discussion begins, "should I stay or should I go?" As it appeared the line was moving, we stayed. While in line we noticed a lady had a coupon for 50% off her order, a quick visit to Zupas website and I was in possession of the same coupon! As we got in line we were met by one of their energetic employees that gave us a rundown of how their system works, start with the sandwich, then salads, then soups. They are efficient, the line moved right through without hesitation. As soon as we received our food we found a table that had just opened up, perfect timing. My Honey Bacon Club was cooked perfectly and delicious; a pleasant surprise was the chocolate covered strawberry they gave us with our meals! I think it is crazy busy because it is new and the 50% off coupon probably didn't hurt, but I imagine it will have a steady flow of diners for some time as they have a nice variety of options on their menu, fresh and pretty healthy food, and efficient staff. Tasty food, but be aware of the up-charges! I work nearby, so when I noticed this place was open last week, I stopped in yesterday. Maybe I came in the wrong door as I had to meander past a lot of full tables in order to get to the line. They offered me a menu, but I said no thanks because after I perused their selections on the website, I planned on getting the 2 sandwich combo for $8.99...or so I thought. Their website shows under sandwiches, "Whole Sandwich $5.69 * Try 2 Combo $8.99". But I quickly learned while in the restaurant that the Try 2 can only be 1 sandwich + half-salad, 1 sandwich + half soup, or salad/soup. Not clear. I got the Honey Bacon Club & the Lobster Bisque soup. They were both good, though the club was a little juicier than expected and the lobster could have used more lobster. What I didn't like though is when going through the line I was asked if I'd like croutons with my soup. Well of course! So she added a tiny round plastic container with about 3.5 croutons. Right afterwards I noticed a sign with 2 long columns of items customers can add to their meals for $0.70 extra. Croutons were one of those items. $0.70 for 3.5 croutons?!? Seriously? Those should be included. I wasn't impressed with the nickel & diming they pulled off yesterday. After not getting a drink or dessert and opting to go, my full price was $10.37. The desserts looked fantastic and extremely unhealthy. But who knows, I couldn't locate calorie information anywhere. Not on their website, not in-store. And also there's no way to order ahead. I was in a hurry to get lunch to bring back to my office. Immediately when I walked in I was amazed at how well the place smelled. Even with a long line, I went with my nose and I stood in line. The line quickly moved and they had an employee handing out paper copies of the menu, giving suggestions and answering questions. Also they provided free samples of the their soup. I ordered a small chef salad. It was amazing! It also came with bread AND a chocolate dipped strawberry. Very tasty on a rainy day! The soup was creamy and delicious! My husband got the tomato basil and I got the roasted red pepper and lobster soup. Really hit the spot! They give you a soft dinner roll and chocolate covered strawberry, both delightful! The atmosphere is new and bright. The only thing I wasn't a major fan of was the lemonade. I had the California Cobb salad. It was tasty... even though it was mostly lettuce. The other toppings were as listed on the menu but I've amended it to be more accurate: all natural sliced chicken breast (four paper thin strips), cage free eggs (six sad slices), premium chopped bacon (maybe? I didn't taste any), edamame (a couple, and I do mean two beans tossed in), and Hass avocado (essentially enough to fill a teaspoon). We add some halved grape tomatoes (two halved teeny tomatoes), black olives (a dusting), and a little indulgence with creamy goat cheese (they mean little. Maybe five sprinkles). Every bite was a different ingredient, and that's not a good thing. It's just that there wasn't enough to go around. The workers are like robots, counting every last ingredient that goes in each salad. When I asked for a little more goat cheese, so I could actually taste it, the guy looked like I asked for a human sacrifice, and informed me he'd have to charge me 0.69 for the privilege of five more sprinkles. This place is ridiculous. The line took forever, and the reason is because the workers have to count every ingredient! They had wide variety of salads to choose from. I had their Chipotle glazed chicken salad. It was awesome. It was accompanied with their bread and chocolate flavored strawberry which was nice touch. Delicious salads! Located in a large shopping center in Eagan near Orange Theory Fitness. Limited parking spots in front especially during busy lunch and dinner times. I usually like trying multiple items on the menu and they have the perfect option where you can try a full sandwich and half a salad or soup. I love a REAL Cuban and have been ordering them from Seattle to Key West. I'm not sure what Zupas little flat mushy thing is, but it's no Cuban. This is a place where you order simple, then stay with simple. (Meaning hard to f up a salad, so just do that) Soups are meh. If you're starving, it'll do. As I watched the staff put my food together, it was refreshing to see every ingredient displayed in plain sight to ensure the quality of each dish. This restaurant offers a wide variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as many dessert options and refreshing drinks. Hoping to try something new, I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and the chipotle chicken salad. Upon receiving my food, I was very happy with the quality of each item. The sandwich stayed warm throughout my time eating, and the salad had just the right amount of each ingredient. My guest enjoyed the roasted red pepper and lobster soup, which had an exquisite but not overpowering flavor! I was pleasantly surprised with the complimentary sides as well. They included a delicious chocolate covered strawberry and a small roll to eat after the main courses. I especially enjoyed the variety of drinks offered. They not only had various soda options, but offered 4 fruit infused refreshments (I absolutely loved the raspberry citrus infusion!) While waiting in line to order, the volume of the music was quite distracting. It was difficult for the staff to hear what I had ordered, but they were incredibly respectful regardless. Each member of the staff greeted me by asking how I was doing, and made sure to thank me for coming in upon leaving. There was a long line while waiting to order, but they made the line pass quickly with their attentiveness and hard work to continue making each dish. As soon as my guest and I finished there was already a worker to pick up our dishes and ask if I needed a box! I was impressed with how well they accommodated to COVID-19 with social distancing. The inside had stickers placed six feet apart in line, and although it was difficult to find an open table with so many being closed off, the staff was able to quickly direct us to the nearest open area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available as well, which is great for any weather! Overall, I was quite pleased with this restaurant. It maintained a clean and presentable atmosphere even in the bathrooms, and the bill was not too expensive, especially for the quality and amount of food you are receiving.
