The front of the restaurant looked promising with the Paris style small patio table seating against the glass windows, but the food and presentation was an extreme let down. The ham and cheese baguette sandwich was prepared quickly and arrived within a few minutes, although the presentation was basic and it literally included ONE slice of HAM and ONE slice of SWISS CHEESE (see pic). The baguette was excellent but severely overpowered the ham and cheese. If this was an appetizer it would not have been an issue. It was only 7€ but I was embarrassed for THEM that they actually served this. I did not question this odd situation to the waiter or management, but was disappointed. They advertise Paninis, unfortunately they are not served at lunchtime - another downer. Aside from the sandwich, the inside was beautiful with a strong emphasis on a variety of wines. The full service liquor and tap craft beer bar was the centerpiece of the restaurant with warm wood finishes providing a relaxed ambiance. The bathroom had modern decor and was very clean. read more

The staff hurries you non stop. Get in, get out and leave your money. The food was terrible. The ribeye steak at 28 euro was so tough we had trouble cutting it. The scallops were hard and over cooked. Like they were sitting in a warmer for a few days. The tomato mozzarella was ok, 4 slices. The French onion soup was semi tasteless but lots of white pepper and tarragon. They did put a lot of onions in. The location is convenient but this was our worst experience in Paris in years. A fine location. Good place to stop and eat for lunch if you are looking for a nice indoor table service place. The restaurant has a nice view of the surrounding buildings. The food was just okay. You'd think being in Paris the crepes would be amazing but mine was a bit of a disappointment. I've had better at little cafés back in the States. The batter wasn't very tasty and a little over done. The filling was scarce but still I was pretty full after eating everything. The service was also pretty lousy. They took awhile to take our order and we had to ask for our check twice before some other server finally brought it to us. With attitude, btw. We may have confused the waitress as one of our orders was incorrect, it didn't have any ham, only cheese. My breakfast included orange juice and a cappuccino, which was much appreciated. This place is just around the corner from our hotel. It's also down the street from the Moulin Rouge. It's open for breakfast and late until 2am. This is great news for us. No more UberEats! Also the food here is good! We ordered the daily special which was sirloin steak. We also got skirt steak, scallops and a pan seared duck dish. The menu has a great selection and they have a lot of drinks available too. The food didn't take long to come out. Everyone was very satisfied with their dishes. We shared a creme brûlée that was also good too. We have experimented with many places since we got in Paris. This is one of the few places we have enjoyed! read more

While I went to the bathroom beforehand the waitress AND the bartender got in my girlfriend's face and screamed at HER aggressively because *I used the restroom without having ordered something first. She was shocked. The people who work here are extremely petty, childish and miserable. Cafe de Luna in first impressions is enigmatic, and mysterious to figure out. I didn't know how I thought about this cafe in the beginning. However, after some time in staying there, I have grown to love Cafe de Luna. Independent cafe bar restaurant feels quite magical, and not too pretentious. There is glowing shiny chandeliers on the ceiling, and very wealthy looking seating & tables. Music videos are shown on some walls, and songs going very well to soulful unique vision of videos, a nice background version of entertainment to a cafe bar restaurant. Cafe de Luna is right in Montmarte neighborhood of Paris France on a busy colorful street, and especially vibrant pleasant energy in close proximity to a nightlife entertainment zone. Cafe serves really tasty traditional French food, including coffee, and desserts. I felt in good company, and tons of amazing conversations about life while traveling as a tourist in Paris France. read more

Really close to our hotel, we decided to go here for a quick bite to eat on our last evening. We had the carbonara, French onion soup and scallops. Scallops only came with 5 and the plate was 75% filled with French fries. Tasted good, but we wished for more. Pasta and French onion soup were good, but nothing exceptional. Menu has English and waiters speak enough English for me to feel comfortable. Overall, I got a diner vibe. They did pastas, burgers, etc and were a jack of all trades master of none. There are definitely more unique restaurants to try, but this was close enough to make it worth it. read more

I visited for a near street lunch with a new friend I made. Nearby my Paris Hotel Mercure Martmont I did the ordered the typical formage plate, a charchuterie board and some really delicious food gras, served with toast. I had a glass of Champagne and my friend had Coke. Very traditional. The service was nice, easy, the bar was open, very little noise, but I visited lunch When I past this place at night it was jumping, But I chose different spots to eat in all over Paris, Down the street there is a street vendor at night who makes amazing formage and ham crepes for 3.50 Euro. I walked past Cafe De Luna while shopping earlier tonight and caught a glimpse of someone having what looked like a good pasta dish. That was all it took to get me to start craving something with pasta. I made my way back to the room and asked my wife how she felt about pasta for dinner because I had just the right place to try. The Cafe has a great atmosphere with big glass windows looking into the eating area. They also have outdoor seating but since it was drizzling, we opted for indoor. I came in with a taste for pasta but they have pizza, burgers, chicken, steak, and duck. They have a good selection which made selecting something very difficult. Even though I had my taste buds craving pasta, I found so much more that looked good. Dinner became French onion soup, lasagna and creme brulee. The onion soup had an excellent flavor; something gave it a little zing that made me take notice - I have not had something like this before. The lasagna was made with a meat sauce and the proportion was just right. The flavor was good. The highlight for me was the creme brulee. It was outstanding with a clear crisp and bold flavor. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce and two chocolate mousse. Both were good but I think I chose wiser, but don't tell her. The service was very good and patient with me while I struggled with French eventually letting me off the hook to order in English. Too bad our trip is coming to an end because Caffè de Luna would be worth another visit. read more

Disclaimer: the owner is a friend of my parents Went there as my father had a work dinner scheduled there and he wanted me to come along. The restaurant is nicely decorated, although there is a large flat screen TV in the back of the restaurant playing bollywood soap operas which I thought was a bit kitsch. The service is very friendly, and the house wines (18 euros) are delicious. The prices are good all around, with a 24 euro 3 course prix fixe with more than enough choice to keep people happy: starters include smoked salmon (generous portions), 6 x snails, foie gras, etc. The snails were delicious and already out of their shells, the smoke salmon was also very good as was the duck foie gras. For mains, the 'Bar' looked amazing; grilled whole fish which looked cooked to perfection, my mom liked it. I had the duck magret, which was perfectly cook as well, and tasted excellent. The moelleux au chocolat was soft on the inside, but not as runny as I like it, and served a bit to cold. They can improve on this. All in a all a good place in an area that doesn't have that many great bistros (mostly known for cheap sushi and kebab joints), so it's good to see a place like this open up and do well. read more

With top notch security for the unruly coming in after a night of drinking and debauchery. Ran into this place while wandering, there weren't many people but the staff were friendly and also spoke good English for those not proficient in French. Everything took dramatically longer than most restaurants. 15-20 minutes minimum between answered requests. It was Sunday at 2130 (9:30 PM). We requested a window seat so we could taken the evening scenery, but were sat at a dirty table. That was fine, but we had to call our server over (same man who sat us) to clean it. We waited another 15 min before he even approached us to take our drink orders ( by this time we were ready to order food). My wife ordered some bread and butter to go with our drinks and asked them to please hurry because of how hungry she was. The bread was fine (by this time I did not expect much) and the butter was ice cold totally unusable for our bread. The food came out relatively quick, I ordered the veal, and my wife the Croque-madame. My pasta was lukewarm at best. My wife's fries were cold and tasted like they had been sitting out for quite some time. The only saving grace was the mushroom sauce with my veal. It was pretty tasty, but not worth 17€. Finally, let me just say I'm pretty easy going it is hard to get "one star" from me, and i have prior experience in the restaurant business so I try to take other variables into consideration. This place WAS NOT overly busy, they did not appear to be understaffed, and they were not very welcoming. All of this combined with the price is pretty disappointing. Really enjoyed this restaurant. We were seated by the window which was a great people watching spot, as it is situated on a corner of a main street. The food was nice, the service excellent and overall a nice experience. Tried a 'desperados' beer which was tasty. I ordered some penne pasta veggie fish, when it arrived as i took my first bite, a mouse ran across the floor!!!! When we told waiter, he said it was normal to have mice!! Since Cafe Luna was right across the street from our hotel, and open late, I visited his spot about five times on my recent trip. I'm happy to report everything I had here was great. Cafe Luna made what became my second favorite french onion soup I tried, and I tried a lot, (first being Wepler). I also quite liked their pizza, pasta, and crepes! I tried the cafe Luna signature crepe and it was simply fabulous. The ambiance is exactly what I expected from a paris cafe, with the outdoor seating, the lovely window seats and cozy atmosphere. The service was quite good also (a feat for Paris, since most of the service sucks). By the second time we visited the staff remembered us as the Americans who require butter with their bread and extra ice, and they always delivered. Cafe Luna does not have the most authentic Paresian food that a traveler may be looking for, but with nine days in France a girl sometimes needs a pizza! I'd recommend this stop to any weary traveler looking for a good meal fast and reasonable. read more
