First time visiting Cafe Coqui in Avalon Park. The place looks very clean and plain. Not the cozy vibe I would expect from a coffee shop. I ordered the Pistachio Cold Foam ice latte and a ham, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich and my husband ordered the dulce de leche iced latte and a bistec Bistec Sandwich. Everything was really good. We truly enjoy the bistec sandwich! Customer service was great. The lady at the register was really nice! I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Sweets in the sweet case

What a sweet place! They have a lot of different sweet options from which to choose. They're pretty good too. The smell reminded me of a bakery in the town in which I grew up. So far, the donuts were my favorite. They also have lunch items and coffee, neither of which I was able to try yet. One person had a coffee flight which looked amazing and I've been trying to plan a trip to try that. The first visit was great as they were patient with picking out goodies. On the 2nd visit, the girl seemed kind of annoyed that I was there. It was 30 minutes till closing, but still. So service kind of depends on the attitude of the person working at the time. They do have a rewards program, but the cashier was in a hurry and kind of skipped over all that and didn't give me a chance to sign up. That 2nd visit really made me think about coming back.

Finally, I made it to Cafe Coqui, and it did not disappoint! This cute café is in Downtown Avalon Park across from the new Marketplace. But it's sooo much better, in my opinion. It's cozy, quiet, clean aesthetic, pleasant, and cute. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside. Inside, there is also a small bar top where you can enjoy your treats & beverages while looking outside. The service was great. I did not see mallorcas (Puerto Rican sweet buns dusted with powdered sugar), I asked, was told they were proofing & needed 2 more hours. I told her I'd be back. When I returned, she remembered me & my request. I ordered two mallorcas both with powdered sugar. I did want the guava and cheese but I will save that for another visit. I sat and enjoyed my delicious mallorca while I read my book. Delighted!

I must say I expected more as they were hyped up. Service was, not great they had a few ladies in from not baristas at all and were not very interested in taking my order, and when they did acknowledge they were in a rush for me to order. I asked for a macchiato I got something that was awful and bitter, so I asked for a latte same experience not all the sugar in the world helped. food I went basic a Ham, Cheese, and egg sandwich it was very slim with a few potato chips. the decoration is nice and the pastries look fresh. would I return no!

Iced coffee flight: coco loco, coquito, pistachio, matcha and donut holes

We also ordered the Bacon egg and cheese- which was good. Order didn't take long. You do have to carry your own flight to the table, it's heavy and take your time. Matcha- not too sweet, earthy| enjoyed Coco loco- so good Coquito- was not feeling this one just tasted like ice coffee, was expecting more coconut creaminess- like coquito with some coffee. Pistachio- different- has a mouthfeel but good once you get all the flavors. The flight was $21 and I feel like that was expensive because these are small goblets, we paid roughly $5 each. If it wasn't for the variety of flavors and the hot food being good I would give a 3 star. The donut holes weren't as fluffy as we were expecting. Definitely photoshoot worthy interior with the castle wall and orange couch.

This is a great neighborhood coffee shop in Avalon Park. They are Spanish inspired, which reflects in their pastries and drinks as well as their decor. It is a small space but they do have outside seating as well. The workers are very friendly and are happy to help you. What I really love about this place is that on certain days they have coffee flights where you can try all different creative flavors. When I went, I tried their bread pudding and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and coffee. Wasn't expecting chips with my breakfast sandwich, but I will admit I didn't check the menu or notice if there was another option. My coffee was really good and the sandwich on Cuban bread was a vibe. For sure will go back!

Heard about their coffee flight! Arrived around 10:30am, asked about the flight. They only serve it from 1-3:00pm. We were so disappointed to say the least, they had a sign up of things they were out of, that would've been nice to try, but that is the way it goes sometimes. We finally decided on a white mocha hot and mocha latte. Took a while to get our drink but was well worth it! It was a comfortable temperature to drink! The coffee itself was delicious! Location was crowded but does have outdoor seating. I wanted to try a beautiful pastry but nothing was labeled and we felt pressure from people behind us to order and move on.

Nutella Cream Latte

Stopped by for an afternoon coffee, there was only another pair of people in so it was quiet during our stop. The employees were kind and patient as we reviewed our options. I tried the Nutella cream iced latte and it was such a great choice. I never knew I needed Nutella cream on a latte, but now I can't imagine not having it. If you're over in the Avalon area definitely stop in here for a coffee or a pastry, everything looked delicious! The Biscoff cheesecake is on my list for next time!

Incredible first time here, and so happy to see the Puerto Rican representation in the neighborhood! The owners were incredibly kind, wonderful customer service, the pastries were delicious, and coffee was perfect! They even gave us some cakes to take home for free to try it's so nice to be able to meet the owners and staff and create that bond, my nana was also obsessed! Highly recommend this experience, gracias y bienvenido Cafe Coquí

Caf con leche/Latte

Beautiful area! Aesthetics was mid. Nothing overly special, a little plain. However, it was clean! I will say they are masters of coffee! They have a great variety of choices, but overall their expresso and cafe con Leche was so so so good. The Cafe bon bon- is addictive! We ordered 2 sandwiches of scrambled eggs with bacon, cheese on pan sabao. The bread is so delicious and good enough to be eaten by itself. The eggs, were not good. We had to return one of the sandwiches because the eggs were not scrambled. There is a difference between, mixing the eggs on the grill and scrambling it first. Makes a big difference! But even when they redid it, it still wasn't good. 2 little strips of bacon , not cook all the way. Not worth it. The Pan Sabao is so good, but the sandwich is 85% bread and the rest is eggs and bacon. My sandwich only had 1 bacon. I'll come back for the coffee, pastries and pan sabao but that's all.

I met with someone who works there and learned that every single meal purchased helps feed a meal in the Dominican Republic! Their menu is huge, diverse and made fresh, so come hungry! They also hire those with disabilities to teach them skills in the workplace! How amazing is that??! They host monthly Christian music showcases featuring local artists, worship nights, bridal and baby showers -- all centered around community and glorifying the Lord. They have 3 sections to sit: social meetups, working on a project or need peace and quiet- i ended up sitting in the middle section so I could work- and it was so perfect. They have outlets at every table making it convenient if you plan to stay all day. I ordered their gf/vegan banana bread and their famous King Julian Vanilla latte and wow - it was probably one of my favorites as I love vanilla lattes! I will definitely be back!

So many of my friends have raved about this place and I finally decided to go and have an early dinner with my princess. I was in the area visiting family and wanted to grab some coffee before the road trip home to South Florida. A local business is better than a Starbucks. Bonus is it's my favorite bakery in Orlando so I'm here for it. This Light on the Sugar is located next to the Regal Cinemas in Waterford Lakes. Squished between Charley's Philly Cheesesteaks and Zen Dumplings. What I dislike about this location is the wooden gazebo they built directly in front of these stores. It totally hides the name of the stores and it's not appealing. This made it hard to find too. They should honestly get rid of the gazebos, these poor stores may be losing potential business because people can't locate it. This bakery is the smallest one compared to the original two locations I've been to. It's ok because they still sell most of the same items, just less of a selection due to limited space. They offer the popular cream puffs, pastries, tarts, merch and drinks. On this particular day, I only got the Pistachio Latte and an Americano. My husband likes a good simple coffee with no bells and whistles. The other stuff is too much for him. Ha. I really debated getting pastries for the road but I was just at the Winter Park location yesterday and got an assortment so I was good on pastries. My Pistachio Latte was good, but it was a tad on the sweet sweeter side. I had my husband mix some of his Americano with my latte so it balanced out a little bit more for both of us. All in all, nice new and intimate location with a few tables indoors and outdoors. I still prefer the other beautiful and more aesthetic locations. Good thing this bakery wasn't here when I lived here, I would be broke! Lol.
