I had one hour to kill with my son while in this neighborhood and not many options for a good coffee and breakfast. At least, I thought. I jumped on my trusted App and found Cafe Bea just blocks from where I was. Upon arrival I was a little skeptical. It looked unfinished and empty. I didn't have much time to be picky so we went in and took a seat. I started with croquetas and cafe con leche because, breakfast. Croquetas were yummy with the right amount of crunch and my cafe con leche was on point. My son had a hot chocolate, eggs and toast and some french toast. I had a croque madam and maybe something else I am forgetting. I felt like my Tia was the one in the back kitchen. Everything tasted like home cooking. Although I'd pass on the french toast next time. The portions are small but the prices are fair. Not your Sunday brunch spot but it's definitely somewhere worth stopping by for a good coffee and quick bite. This little cafe shows much potential. I've ordered lunch from here through UberEats numerous times and it's pretty good. We had breakfast here years ago and decided to go back this past weekend but were disappointed. The eggs Benedict was nothing special, in fact the English muffin was hard and stale, it was difficult to cut with a fork and knife. The French toast was odd as they serve it in a pool of syrup, so much syrup that it just seems ridiculous, with a measly little strawberry. I wouldn't order the French toast again. The only delicious thing was the mint tea lemonade which was incredible! There was a line out the door with people waiting to get in, so it's obviously popular in this area but it could be because of the lack of options. They have your traditional Cuban favorites and a lot of sandwiches, soups and specials, but definitely with an upscale refined twist. You can tell the chef is classically trained and making the food fresh! Don't let the little spot in a shopping center fool you, once you dine in you are transformed into a little Paris/Spain like cafe. The decor choice is perfection. They serve you water in a light bulb pitcher and toast in a little silver canister. The coffees are served in a adorable clear glass cups presented on wooden coasters. Just so cute. The bathroom has a little bicycle design and the touches of greenery in the patio area are designed perfectly. They serve your check in a classic Cuban coffee maker. So smart! the service is amazing. Everyone is super nice and attentive. You can't beat it. Now for the main event the food! Everything we tried was perfectly portioned and beyond perfectly tasteful. We came for brunch and started with the aroz con pollo croquetas that beat ISLAS CANARIAS famous croquetas. You can try the ham, zucchini, and bacalao ones which are also amazing. The juevo Fritos come on a bed with truffle oil fries. Seriously 5 star dish that would've cost triple the price in any other restaurant. The French toast! Holy moly. I don't know what they do, but it almost had a donut type breading on it which was so yummy. We also ordered toast which was French baguette amazingly toasted. Missing our favorite coffeeshop in Orlando (we were in Miami visiting), we accidentally ran into this coffee shop while exploring the area for nice restaurants. What a little gem where you least expected ! By friend just moved close to my house and I wanted her to have a nice first breakfast in the "neighborhood". She said "oh I found a place already and I think you'll like it ". So we went ! WHAT A NICE PLACE SHE FOUND. Is inside a shopping center and honestly you don't think too much of it until you walk in and see the environment and the most important part THE MENU. Everything on the menu looks so fresh, homemade and is very affordable ! I didn't know what to order . Only one thing bothered me during this experience. They do allow outside smoking in the outdoor dinning section. Though this section is very nicely set up, it is quite small. This post isn't about their food because unfortunately I cannot comment on it because their service was so bad we left. We came shortly before 12 on a Saturday and was told the wait should be about 10-15 minutes which is fine for a party of 2. We were able to see as we were waiting the waitresses are also responsible for cleaning tables and seating everyone without an actual wait list. We waited for 30 minutes without saying anything see 3 open tables for 2 the entire time. Finally someone behind us in line goes inside to complain about the empty tables and they proceed to skip them ahead of everyone in line. When I politely brought it to their attention that they are seating a table of 2 when there are 2 other parties of 2 waiting before them they can not give a valid reason as to why they are doing it. Apparently here it's not first come first serve it's first complain first serve. We had high hopes based off pics of food and other reviews but management needs to retrain staff on hospitality or hire someone for busy periods to help them sit customers down and clean up tables to have higher retention and more customer turnover. read more

If you want happiness served on a cutting board you need to come here. As a self proclaimed Croqueta Expert I have to rate my Croqueta experience here as 10/10. I was also happy that they did not skimp on cheese like many places do. They actually use so much cheese on their toast that it helps hold the food together for less mess. Cashier was extremely friendly, the atmosphere is neat. The restaurant also has some tasty looking sweets on display! Will definitely consider purchasing for someone in the future as I am not huge on sweets. All in all this is one of my favorite meals that I've enjoyed in Tamiami. Highly recommend! F read more

I've been here about 3 times now and have sampled different items. Everything has been tasty and fresh and I really do enjoy coming here. This is definitely a great place for lunch/brunch where you don't have to wait an hour to eat. They do not sell any alcoholic beverages so no mimosas here but that doesn't really matter because their "malteado" is delicious!!!! So far see below for what I've tried: croque madame french toast Ham, risotto, & Arroz con pollo croquettes (I personally was not a fan of the latter) and the yuca mash & pork dish. Even my friend spit it out. I was not offered a refund even though it was inedible. I didn't press for one, but if your customers won't eat your food you should make it right. The service here is absolutely pathetic. We came on a Sunday for the first and only time. We sat at a table for four and took one chair from another empty table because the guy who sat us abandoned us immediately. For 15 minutes we sat without anyone attending to us or even bringing us menus - we tried getting anyone's attention but no one realized what we wanted. Finally, someone brought us waters and left again without bringing menus or asking if we were ready to order. We got up and asked for menus ourselves. The food was not bad at all but definitely not worth the experience. It took about 30 minutes to actually get our food after ordering and they kept forgetting our drinks. Additionally, they kept bringing other tables' orders to us and seemed to be very confused. One of the orders they brought was a frozen drink and since they couldn't figure out where it belonged, they left it on the counter. About ten minutes later someone brought it to the guest who ordered it, but by that time it was half melted. Another was an order of croquettas that one of us put our hands all over before realizing the mistake and the waitress still took it from our table straight to the correct guest. There were about six employees and the tables were not full, yet the service was slow and they seemed extremely under-trained and overwhelmed. While we were there we saw a table of 4 and a table of 5 sit down, wait, and then leave because they too were left unattended. Definitely not returning. read more

This place is more than just a food stop but a work of art. First, the container of water infused with mint was a huge lightbulb. The croquettes were a little small but tasted pretty good. A different take on them than I have had in other eateries. The cappuccino was pretty good with a perfect blend of dairy and coffee topped with a design made with cinnamon. The main plate came out which was the huevos rotos. They were two fried eggs with perscutto ham that were soaked in some truffle oil which seeps into the fries. Such a good meal. The ladies there were pretty nice. Only took a little too long to get my order. It's a pretty trendy place with awesome theming. Looking forward to coming back another day with my family. read more

Cafe Bea is a hidden gem that everyone who lives or works in the area NEEDS to try! Came during the week with my boyfriend searching for an affordable breakfast to feature on my food Instagram and was blown away. First off, Cafe Bea is located in pretty unknown shopping center with ample parking. The well thought out decor is absolutely beautiful and makes you feel like you're far from Miami when you're eating here. The food was absolutely incredible which is why I chose them as my #1 must try restaurant for my blog. Even better the gourmet quality food they deliver is all priced at very affordable costs. I ordered a cafecito $1.50 to jump start my day and two ham croquetas $1/each for us to nibble on as appetizers. I know it doesn't sound like much but this was literally the best cafecito I had ever tasted! The croquetas completely surprised us with their high quality taste that I could only compare to other fine dining Spanish restaurants in Miami. I'm assuming their made with Serrano ham and manchego------so so tasty! For my meal I ordered the Italian Sandwich $7.50 ( prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, pesto, and arugula) with an additional I asked for in which they did their very best to accommodate me. IT WAS AMAZING! So fresh and fulfilling, all the ingredients used were without a doubt fresh. My boyfriend ordered the Huevos Rotos $7.50 (2 eggs over French fries topped with a generous portion of Serrano ham & truffle oil). He still raves about this meal and being from Spain, could not believe the price for how much they gave him. Walking up to it, the place is very aesthetically pleasing with an quaint outdoor seating area. We ordered the croque madame and the huevos rotos. Both dishes were great, however if you're in between both I would recommend the huevos rotos due to the mixture of flavors. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria which paired well with the food.
