Italian Tuna with spinach, tomato & red onion. Half dipped peanut butter cookie with chocolate.

From the moment you step through the doorway until you leave, you are treated warmly, with very friendly staff and a serene decór that is relaxing. I had a regular coffee with half and half, simple but very good. The Italian Tuna panini however...out of this world!! This is a must-see location!!!

Fantastic cafe! They had so many breakfast options, everything tasted fresh, and they had a lot of drink options. I love that you can build your own breakfast or lunch panini. The service is amazing, too. Everyone was so nice & welcoming. The cafe itself is very cute. Highly recommend coming here.

Cute little café with the friendliest women working the counter and making the sandwiches/coffee. we explained we had never been there before, and she politely explained the menu and the drink options and even gave recommendations. Locally sourced products: Breadworks bread, baked goods from Potomac Bakery, Mediterra and Nancy B's... just to name a few. Love that they support other local small businesses.... I prefer to support a local business over a chain any chance I get! My coworker and I decided to each try a sandwich and share them. The 412 Italian had a generous portion of meat, a little spice, and a nice spread of Sun-dried tomato sauce. The Noelle roast beef was delicious with roasted red peppers and a horseradish sauce! It seemed like fresh, sliced roast beef not thin, lunch meat. Great spot for a nice filling sandwich. All sandwich options are available on a ciabatta roll, sourdough bread or as a wrap! They serve breakfast all day as well...well until they close at 2pm. They also serve delicious coffee, drinks and lattes...made to order. Give it a try!!!

What a great place to have breakfast! I had an avocado toast with a fried egg and a chocolate biscotti! Highly recommend! Great coffee as well!

Ricotta toast with strawberries and balsamic glaze

The staff are welcoming and helpful. Holly, Amy, and the other staff answer any questions you might have and provide excellent service with a warm smile. The food is creative and delicious. Chef John has come up with a terrific summer twist to his homemade ricotta cheese on toast dish by adding sweet strawberries and balsamic glaze. Brilliantly good!

In the mood for breakfast.. I placed an order through uber eats. It was so great getting a latte delivered along with a breakfast Panini. Breakfast Panini was very good and fresh!! Add bacon ham and sausage-with egg and cheese really hit the spot. I look forward to visiting the actual Café for take out sometime soon!

On a scale of documentaries to romances, Café 412 is a cozy romance that offers big city deliciousness alongside the coziness of a small town. Café 412 offered me the perfect Wednesday morning pick-me-up. I had no idea it was so near my old apartment because I would have taken advantage of the coffee and space much more often. Love a cup of joe with a place to relax and work with a good menu of options, Café 412 is a great location!

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffee. We had been trying local Pittsburgh coffee places every Sunday morning and this morning we decided to come to Cafe 412. It actually wasn't our first trip here as we had tried to come 2 Sundays ago but the place was closed and we had feared it to be permanently closed. Thankfully last night I took the time to look at their Facebook page and found out that they had done a catering event that weekend so we're closed. The inside of this place consists of an area to order which had a beverage display cooler, some baked goods and then a couple of chalkboard menus as well as a whiteboard with todays specials. They also had plenty of seating in a dining room on the other side of the restaurant. For our coffee on this morning I went with a large latte and then my wife ordered a small latte with hazelnut and chocolate. The food also looked good and so my wife went with the Italian Veggie Panini while I went with a build your own panini. My panini consisted of a fried egg and one meat and one cheese for which I chose capicola and pepper Jack and then I was also offered spinach, onion and tomato and only chose spinach. The menu described my wife's as 2 slices of provolone, spinach, tomato, red onion, roasted red peppers and finished with homemade sun dried tomato and Italian dressing. After placing our order I took a seat as I knew that the paninis may take a few minutes. While I was waiting at least 5 other groups of people came in, so this place was definitely hopping. It ended up taking 15-20 minutes to get our food, which was a bit longer than I had been expecting, but it is was it is. On the car ride home both my wife and I were able to try our drinks. Mine was pretty good with a nice milk forward taste and then the strong coffee in the background. My wife also loved hers, especially the chocolate and hazelnut flavoring. Once we got home I was able to open up my sandwich and it looked good. While the $10 price tag is a bit higher than I would normally pay, I was happy with how much capicola was on it. It tasted quite good too as I loved the capicola and there was plenty of egg, cheese and bread as well which left me full by the end. My wife also enjoyed her panini and the mix of vegetables, especially the roasted red peppers. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed not only our coffees but the pananis as well.

We were in the area visiting and wanted to pick up something to go. Got 4 of the vegetarian, cheese and egg panini breakfast sandwiches with spinach, onions and mushrooms to go. Order took a while to be prepared but the wait was well worth it. We were all shock by the size of the paninis. They were pretty huge. You can probably just get one and split between two. It was hot, fresh, and just yum. The panini bread was buttery yet crunchy. Really good! Definitely come check this place out if you are in the area!

    quaint and Charming.

He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
