We needed carpeting on the common hall staircase of our brownstone. We wanted to stay local and found Caesars on Yelp. We decided to go take a look and see if we could find something that would work. Don't be put off by the outside. It's a mom and pop place and is a little worse for wear. We decided to go in and we explained to the salesman (yes there really is a Caesar!), what we were looking for. He recommended a few things and we found something that would work and that was very reasonably priced ($1200 for 3 flights of stairs including padding and installation). Service was wonderful and very fast! Came the next day to measure and had everything beautifully installed the next week. The one time there was a problem they came back and replaced the whole flooring for no charge. I have priced out carpet at Home Depot and found that by the time you add in all the extra's Home Depot charges you for, the price for a cheap carpet was pretty much the same as going to Caesar's. Most recently I used them for carpet cleaning and I have to say they did a fantastic job. I have had this carpet cleaned other times and it never came out great. But Caesar's guys made the carpet look like new again, even got out wine stains that were 2 years old. 2 thumbs up from me! read more

Today they solved a complicated kitchen floor installation in my home that involved moving appliances and counters and then matching seams in the floor covering. Called to see if I could get an estimate of what it would cost to have my condo's common space stairwell's carpet replaced. Gentlemen who answered the phone said 1) they don't come to us for estimates, first I have to come into the store with the measurements (of a 5 flight condo + landings!) and 2) before they would come to check my measurements (which seems silly, just come and do the measurements first) they require a $30 deposit that's not refundable. Every other carpet dealer I spoke with 100% was willing to come to give an estimate for free. read more

the owner told me that he was familiar with the cement kitchen floors in my complex, that they were the perfect base for installing a floor. i was told that they would remove the old floor & install the new & that it would look great. the workers tore up the old floor rather quickly & told me that they didn't have to bother to remove the residue. they had a product called "ardex" that they would pour, & it would make it perfectly level. they kept telling me that it was going to be "beautiful". they applied it thickly & unevenly. they ran out at one point & had to mix more & apply. the whole floor is hilly, but this is where the biggest hill is. they seemed to get nervous as the job went bad, & told me a number of times not to worry, that the hills would "settle" & it would be "beautiful". They never denied that they made the floor lumpy. the old floor was old, but was as smooth & level as it's cement base..i had no reason to believe that the new floor wouldn't be as level. my new floor remained lumpy & never "settled". i called the owner & told him to come see his work. he told me that he never leaves the store. i called a number of times & asked him to send someone over, but no one ever came. i registered w/ the better business bureau. they told me that they reached out twice to caesar's, but they did not respond. read more
