But what prompted me to write this review is this persons final comment. a good while after this convo was done and we'd paid and about to step away to wait for our drink, this person just had to convince themselves they were right, saying "yeah people usually say three shot americano that's why i was like huh". three shots over ice is not an americano. it's three shots over ice. an americano is diluted with water. and not what we wanted....which is why we didn't order it. visit in one word: meh. My advice is to go somewhere that will actually appreciate you being there. especially when there are 10 other shops in a mile radius. no need to be looked at like you are an inconvenience. Cheers!

But what irked us was not the beer selection, but the way we were treated. I was enthralled by the beer selection that I spent a good 20 minutes looking for some good stouts. I ended up grabbing two 6-packs and a can of beer. My wife came from the nearby Lenny's to help me select the goods and carry them to the front of the store. The guy working there was nice and asked to see my ID, which I did. He then proceeded to ask my wife for her ID, which she didn't have on her. He was really apologetic and basically said it was required by law to see both of our ID's, as they didn't want to lose their alcohol license in the case that my wife was underaged. I get it. But as my wife was fervently looking for some way to prove her age, a woman (I'm guessing the manager or the guy's boss) came over. She basically kept saying no to me and my wife, and when my wife found her COVID vaccine card with her birthday, she rudely cut my wife off and still said no to us, that her ID must have her photo on it. I asked if I could come back another day to buy the beer by myself, and she rudely told me no, that I have to bring my wife along for her to show her ID. We basically stormed out after that, as we didn't want to deal with her attitude or rudeness anymore. So I'm basically banned now from buying beer here unless my wife can come with me to show her ID? That's dumb. In the end, I get the law. They don't want to risk their license. But the way the woman treated us was rude, condescending, and demeaning. She wouldn't let us get a word out, and she basically shooed us away. The guy was kind and apologetic, but his female counterpart (Manager? Coworker?) left a sour taste in our mouths and was 100% unpleasant to work with. Well, to whoever she is, good job. You just lost our business.

The selection at Pete's is that of a grocery store. Though I wouldn't consider it a supermarket since they don't have fresh meat items though they do have produce. Prices are on the higher side, but I would consider the product selection to be somewhat upscale. Not just mainstream brands. You can find some specialty items sprinkled around the store. The store has a good wine section, with one aisle devoted to it. There is also a deli in the back. They have a selection of prepared deli sandwiches available on weekdays. The quality is decent, but they are a bit pricey. Each portion is the size of a half sandwich. Quality wise, I do prefer the sandwiches at the newly opened Otherside Market nearby, which are made to order. But a sandwich here would do in a pinch if I am looking for a quick bite. Overall, I think this store is alright. It has a better selection than the mini marts in the neighborhood. But you will find cheaper groceries by shopping at a large grocery like QFC or Safeway instead. It does in a pinch though if you need a random item and live in the area.
